In today's video, we take you on an a day trip adventure to see Mt. Fuji and the seaside city Atami located on Japan’s Izu Peninsula, in the Shizuoka Prefecture southwest of Tokyo. Atami sits on volcanic hills within the Fuji-Hakone-Izu National Park, which is also home to Mount Fuji.
Atami is famous for its numerous natural hot springs, it has several public onsen baths and an artificial sand beach on Sagami Bay. It's a great idea for an easy 1-Day trip from Tokyo within only about 1 hour distance with bullet train. Hope you enjoy our drone clips of this amazing town as well as Mt. Fuji.

I especially agree with you on the strawberries. Most of my life was spent in Southern California, where strawberries are prevalent. But for the last five months, I have been living in Osaka and Kyoto and have been "pigging out" on Japanese strawberries. The sweetness has been remarkably uniform, so I finally had to ask how they were able to maintain this constancy of quality (which actually also applies to other fruits grown in Japan). One of the store managers explained that a Japanese company has developed a small machine that measures the sugar content and acidity of fruits. This is how the farmers know the optimal time to release the fruits to market. Fruits in Japan are much more costly than in the US, but I'm more than willing to pay the price if the quality of the fruit is "top-grade". Now, I'm waiting for Kyoho grapes to be available in the markets (curiously, these are primarily grown in Shizuoka prefecture).
