Hola from Queretaro. I live in Corregidora, and order groceries online for home delivery. Happy I relocated to Queretaro in 2021 at 79. You still must be ALERT, wherever you move. I have been coming to MEXICO for over 61 years, and all 50 states of the USA, and foreign travel on my own dime. Love all your videos, and thank you so much.

We did a few house hunting videos in Zakia with sales prices. Rents there are abt 10000 to 16000 pesos /month. We moved to Puerto Vallarta now and won't make another video about Zakia.

I really enjoyed both perspectives and so much information! My choice would be El Refugio, but I would also like some old school Mexican areas as well.

I think for single people on a conservative budget it would be more economical to use an Uber or hire a driver than the thousands it would cost to buy and maintain a car with car insurance. What are your thoughts?
@dreamlifeinMexico

Stay close to the central or in the central. No need to buy a car. There are buses for traveling around.

I have a question. From what I heard, there are a lot of power outages in Mexico, so most factories are installing UPS or generators. Is it like that in Querétaro too?

Just curious, why you picked Querétaro instead of Mexico City to live . My wife and I spent 2 months looking for a place in the same neighborhoods you featured in the video. Even though they were all beautiful, we found many complaints in Querétaro compared to Mexico City . It’s warmer, more mosquitoes, too windy, traffic was always bad , not many parks compared to Mexico City . Going to be over developed soon , not much entertainment compared to Mexico City. Getting around is a hassle with all the u turns on freeways . More green spaces in Mexico City . Was wondering your thoughts on this . Thank you and great content !!

I haven’t been to either yet but planning to start my move in Queretaro. For me I’ve heard air pollution is terrible in CDMX- how do you find it? And which neighborhoods in Mexico City would you say are similar/ safe/ etc?
@brennt1
@brennt1 11 ай бұрын
From my research I like Mexico City for the reasons you mentioned. But Querétaro seems like it would be more quieter in gated communities(no vendors with loud speakers, etc.), also a little cheaper, plus more properties with personal back yard space. We have pets and used to having a yard for them. In CDMX, we’d have to adjust to taking them out to public green space for potty breaks.

@@brennt1 actually , we live in a very quiet neighborhood in condesa , no noise , no vendors, almost to quiet walking the dogs in the morning and evening. We looked at homes in Querétaro with the back yard , did not like the wall around the property , felt like prison. Love walking our dogs at all the beautiful parks here . Good luck on your choice .
@dreamlifeinMexico
@dreamlifeinMexico 10 ай бұрын
The main concern is the pollution as we have a 3 year old, and no back yard for our dogs which we are used to not walk them 2 or 3 times a day. Rents are cheaper here for bigger house. And it's close to cdmx to enjoy many things to do there. We do like Cdmx a lot and may consider move there for a change.
@Lizz7711
@Lizz7711 10 ай бұрын
I’ve actually changed my mind and am going to start out in CDMX likely Coyoacán or Narvarte neighborhoods which I hear are quiet and green and maybe not quite as pricy as condesa or Roma. Can’t wait!

My husband and me will be moving to QRo very soon, we will like to buy house, which area do you suggest, we like a traditional house with patio, not those modern new houses. Can you mention about parking when you go to downtown, we’re driving from Texas to there. I don’t know Qro. but we speak Spanish. Thank you, blessings

That’s a tough question to answer because there are lots of different factors depending on your wants. Of course there is the historical center, Los Alamos, Jardines de Queretaro, careterras, and so many more. We even have a video with lesser known neighborhoods around Centro

Do you have to be a temporary resident first to rent here and can you still keep your US citizenship to live here permanently? Do also know if someone can still cast a US absentee ballot for US votes from Mexico?. Great vid!🤩

For Querétaro, it's easier to rent if you are residents. Yeah you can still vote and keep us citizenship.

Glad you give insight. These neighborhoods lack the Mexican soul and charm. All those subdivisions do. No diff between those & what they set up in the States. I can see why the Mexicans resent us.

Just remember, that no matter how many foreigners move here every neighborhood is still overwhelmingly local. So in our opinion, you can't blame foreigners for that. I think it comes down to costs
