Where to Place Air Purifier in Room
It is typically not a really big deal as to where you place the air purification solution in your room in smaller rooms. So long as you are getting at least 3 air exchanges per hour - then you should be good. Now, if you have smoke as the number one item you wish to purify and you know it is coming through your vents or from underneath your door then yes, you would want to strategically place the unit near that area for better effectiveness. Where to Place Air Purifier in Room
And if you are in a large room with high ceilings and your air purification solution is undersized - then yes, you will be more likely to want the air purifier near you or at least pointing the clean air in your direction. But, for the vast majority of environments - as long as the unit can get at least 3 air exchanges per hour and it is sized correctly for your cubic footage and needs. You should be good. It should be near room center if it's air output is upward and you don't provide other source of airflow. Best to have it with conjunction of regular fan that ensures airflow through whole room. If u have strong purifier setting it to max will have similar effect but I obviously don't run on max all the time. If u put it in room corner and set to auto it won't do almost anything it will just slowly filter the same air in that one corner of room

These are some good points. Yes, the airflow is definitely an important consideration I think. Maybe more of a consideration in larger spaces. In a perfect world - it may be best to put a top flowing purifier in the middle of the room and it seems to make sense. However, I think most people will oftentimes have problems putting the unit in the 'center' of a room due to the size and shape of the room - where the outlets are located and also furniture arrangements will oftentimes come into play. For example: I don't have any of my 4 air purifiers in the 'middle' of any of the 4 rooms they are located in - and I think the vast majority of customers I've dealt with were in the same boat as myself. My Austin Air in my bedroom is on high 247 for more air exchanges and it is on one side of the room closer to a corner. It's airflow comes out powerfully at an upward angle (maybe a 45 degree angle) from the upper part of the unit on the side and it is designed to push the clean air kind of far from the unit to encourage more air exchanges. I'm going to replace it with an Aeris 3 in 1 and that unit does have the airflow come out the top. I'll put it in the same spot for convenience sake and I'll probably run it on at least speed 4 - which is 260 CFMs as the Healthmate is 250 CFMs on High. These units are 'Supersized' for the cubic footage in my room as they can accommodate much larger spaces than my bedroom. I am a HUGE believer in supersizing the purification solution for the cubic footage. I almost always recommend this to folks if possible. Of Note: I ran a Winix 5500 in a hotel room a few months back and it was near a wall on a table and it has the clean air coming up out of the top. When I got in the bed to go to sleep - I noticed the air was hitting the ceiling and shooting right down on top of my head - creating a fairly strong draft as if a fan were above my head... and I was on the opposite side of the room from it. As I got closer to the unit - the draft stopped dropping down on my head from the ceiling. So, I think there can be different airflow patterns depending on the rooms the units reside in - and sometimes the patterns are not exactly what one would initially think. I personally, didn't want the draft on my head when I was trying to sleep. And my Austin Air Healthmate creates a fairly strong draft in my room which I do not like during the colder months so I have to strategically position the outflow at those times I think your additional fan idea is a VERY GOOD suggestion and could definitely be used strategically to benefit the overall air quality in a room, for sure - especially in larger rooms. I used to sometimes recommend fans for dehumidification applications to push the more humid air towards the dehumidifiers if they were in large spaces and/or if they had very low ceilings - like a crawlspace. But it seems to also make sense for air purification applications, as well - again, especially for the larger rooms. I am not a fan of the units having sensors 'detect' the air quality and controlling the unit's speed, at all. And I agree with you about not doing this with the unit in a corner at a distance from you. It does not seem like a good idea, at all. Thank you for taking the time to post and thank you for your input! Good ideas/variables to think about!👍😄

Where would be the best place to put the purifier if my closet has mold? And trying too get rid of mold spores?
@AirPurificationEducation
@AirPurificationEducation 10 ай бұрын
If you have mold in your home then I think you would really want a professional company to come in and kill/eradicate it, if possible. Plus, the best air purifiers I trust for Mold would probably be the IQAir HealthPro Plus and the Aeris 3 in1 - as I don't think they leak/let air around the filters. I've talked to many people through the years who became extremely sick from mold exposure. So, I feel a little scared for people who tell me they know they co-exist with it. I'd probably try to put the air purifier in between me and the mold source. I just saw a program last night about babies who had become sick from mold a few years ago in Cleveland and it appears the babies who were closest to the vent where the mold was coming from got the sickest - and the ones furthest away from the source were more healthy. The mold was in the basement and coming up through a vent into the babies room. I'd really try to get a pro to fix it if possible. Thank you and Good Luck!👍

it’s pretty good, especially for price range, it’s just really simple and to the point, it doesn’t have any smart features, at least the smaller basic models don’t but it’s a bang for you buck, especially when amazon sells it for less than 50 bucks

It helps to know the size of the rooms because air purifiers really only work in the room they reside in and that is why I have 4 running in my house... but I'll just let it rip: All these units are in order of effectiveness and they are all able to do a good job in @800 sq. ft. w/ 8 ft. ceilings: 1) Aeris Aair 3 in 1 @ $730 2) IQAir Healthpro Plus $899 3) Airpura R700 is @ $900 4) Austin Air Healthmate: @ $715 5) Coway AirMega 300 @$400.. AND If you have smaller rooms - like bedrooms 300 sq. ft. or less - you can still go with the order of the previous list but if it is too costly you can also look at the following which cover less sq. ft. and are oftentimes used in bedrooms A) Aeris Lite - @ $339 FANTASTIC filtration! and filters as well as it's larger sister product the 3 in 1 - just in a smaller space for less money. B) Coway Mighty @ $160 C.) Winix 5500-2 @ $145... Hope that helps - thanks!

@@AirPurificationEducationHi Doug, I have a similar problem except that for us, there is a massive highway project right in front of our house. Massive earthworks with excavation, transporting of earth and rocks, earth compacting with numerous massive poorly maintained diesel machinery criss crossing as well as idling just barely 75 feet from our residence. A massive earth stockpile has also been created right in front of our residence. We have to keep our windows and doors closed. Many neighbors and my family have developed coughs, eye irritation. All of the models you have mentioned here are not available where I live (in Penang, Malaysia). Are there others you could suggest. What about models from Philips or Levoit or Sharp? Thank you for your work. I find it very helpful. I am a new subscriber.

Hello and thank you for your inquiry. Sorry to hear you are encountering these issues... I've heard a lot of people complain over the years when construction is located near their residence or even work environment. It can be very irritating. 1) I think IQAir has dealers pretty much worldwide. I had someone in India (I think) say something similar as you but I went to this link www.iqair.com/shopiqair and filled out the form and they sent me contact info. for a dealer who could get them the HealthPro Plus in their part of the world. So, please contact them at that link and I think it is possible they can get you the unit. That unit is probably the best for you. 2) Austin Air makes some good air purifiers and I have 2 of them and had them run 247 on high for over 15 years - so they make quality units. They manufacturer the units in the US but I know they had international dealers. Here is a link to their international dealers: austinair.com/international-dealers/ - the Malaysian link does not work for me as I think they are tracking my US IP address... if the link does not work for you then you can contact them austinair.com/contact/ You would probably be looking at the Austin Air Heathmate but you could also chat with them to see what they think is best for your situation (they may recommend the Plus unit). 3) Camfil: Fam Wee Chean is the General Manager for Camfil in Penang and they manufacture a high end air purifier called The Camfil City M which is EN1822 certified and possibly approaches the IQAir HealthPro Plus for performance… but I'm not 100% sure yet. I do know it is well built. Camfil is the largest air filter manufacturer in the world and they have locations on every continent, I believe. They do over a Billion dollars a year in revenue. They are a serious filtration manufacturer. Fam Wee Chean can be contacted at WeeChean.Fam@camfil.com or 604 642 5004 Address: D-17-01, Bay Avenue, Lorong Bayan Indah 2 11900 Bayan Lepas,Penang Malaysia 4) BlueAir - Not as good as the other options but it appears they are available in Malaysia: visionary.com.my/collections/blueair 5) Xiaomi - Not as good as the other options - Xiaomi Mi Air Purifier 3C is probably less expensive than all the other options and I think it can improve your environment… I just don’t know to what degree… Most all air purifiers will improve the environments they are put it to varying degrees… if desperate - I’d maybe check this one out… Good Luck! 👍 @@revn9203

Figure out the cubic footage of your room (lxwxh). Then check the cfms on the setting of the unit on the speed you are running the unit. Multiply that by 60 minutes and then divide the cubic footage by that number.
