Many Christians now believe that the Temple was located in the City of David, rather than in the traditional location on the Temple Mount. We’ve debunked all of the myths that attempt to prove this claim. However, many wonder if there is any archaeological evidence that the Jewish Temple was actually on the Temple Mount.
Today, we went on the hunt to look for evidence of the Temple at its traditional location. You’ll be shocked at what we found.
Are you ready to find out the truth? Episode #4 in our six-part series “The Temple: the Search for its True Location” premieres today.
You’ll want to subscribe to the channel so that you don’t miss out on any of the upcoming episodes in this cutting-edge video series.

1 Chronicles 21:22 And David said to Ornan, “Give me the site of the threshing floor that I may build on it an altar to the LORD-give it to me at its full price-that the plague may be averted from the people. V26 And David built there an altar to the LORD and presented burnt offerings and peace offerings and called on the LORD, and the LORD answered him with fire from heaven upon the altar of burnt offering. 1 Chronicles 22:1 Then David said, “Here shall be the house of the LORD God and here the altar of burnt offering for Israel.” 2 Chronicles 3:1 Then Solomon began to build the house of the LORD in Jerusalem on Mount Moriah, where the LORD had appeared to David his father, at the place that David had appointed, on the threshing floor of Ornan the Jebusite. This is very clear that Solomon’s temple was built on the threshing floor of Ornan, the Jebusite which is in the City Of David. I find it peculiar that The Israel Guys did not discuss Bob Cournuke’s mention of this threshing floor. It is Bob’s premise for placing Solomon’s temple in the City of David. Is scripture the final authority? Absolutely! It does not matter who says what or who finds what… scripture is the immutable, infallible Word of God and it places Solomon’s Temple on the threshing floor of Ornan the Jebustie in the City of David.
@TheIsraelGuys
@TheIsraelGuys Жыл бұрын
What indication is there that the threshing floor was in the City of David? It would make more sense for it to be on Mount Moriah as you wouldn't want a threshing floor contaminating your water source. Mount Moriah was also higher in elevation, so would catch the wind better

@@TheIsraelGuys Did not David conquer the Jebusite City and renamed it the City of David? (2 Samuel 5:6-10). Whether it makes sense or not is not the issue. Does scripture specify where Solomon built the temple? Yes it does! (2 Chronicles 3:1)

My children found fossilized butterfly's eggs, tiny mammal bones, and sea shells in our backyard. We have bitumen, clay, and obsidian as well. After a long winter, a pond is formed every year behind my backyard and sulfur smell comes out of it through bubbles. Many creatures live in this reserve, about 50 species of birds, thousands kinds of insects, and we have mammals and critters too. We don't know why this reserve is what it is because no government neither natural science authority has declared or assigned, or confirmed identification of the place. Same way with the Ufo's, Big Foot, and the Temple Mount stories. Everyone has an opinion about the Temple Mount but the evidence is always blurry, doubtful, or discredited, always inconsistent with the character of G-d.

Go watch their other video about this. There are other Herodian era walls in Jerusalem still standing. Even a wall from Hezekiah's time. So either Jesus was lying when he said no stone left on top of another, or he was walking about the Temple itself (which was what the disciples had just asked him about). There are zero stones standing on top of each other from the temple. The retaining wall of the Temple Mount is not the Temple.

Trinkets and block??? Josephus writes about how ancient structures were cut down and the debris was used as landfill in other areas. So trinkets could have come from anywhere and moved to other areas; they don't mean anything. Likewise Josephus writes about how the block from the temple were carried off and used for other structures. So we don't know the original location of any loose blocks we might find; they don't mean anything either.

There was also an occult passage built for the king; it led from Antonia to the inner temple, at its eastern gate; over which he also erected for himself a tower, that he might have the opportunity of a subterraneous ascent to the temple, in order to guard against any sedition which might be made by the people against their kings. The late Israeli archeologist, Eilat Mazar, has presented lots of evidence that the First and possibly the Second Temples, were built in the City of David, and that the tombs of the kings of Judah which were nearby, were destroyed. @AnimeOtakuDrew
@AnimeOtakuDrew Жыл бұрын
@@phearlesspharaoh3697 From the approach they're using, it doesn't seem as though they are trying to prove or disprove any one idea or person, but rather looking at the evidence and seeing what conclusion it points to without being swayed by any previous ideas or assumptions. In fact, at first it seemed that their analysis was indicating his ideas might be correct. Then the evidence against it started to stack up. It's not at all that they are calling him a liar, they are simply analyzing that evidence and drawing the conclusion that he was mistaken in his hypothesis. That's just part of being a researcher and/or scientist; you do your studies and draw your conclusions based on the evidence, but other researchers can look at that evidence and/or other evidence that leads them to a different conclusion. It doesn't mean ANYONE is lying, it just means one of the conclusions is wrong. Also, it seems to me, however, that Cornuke is the one calling people liars; he's the one who said of another researcher that is supposedly his friend that they know the truth but won't admit it because of the way they would be ostracized. It becomes unfalsifiable; if the guy denies it, he's just doing exactly what Cornuke said he would which doesn't prove Cornuke wrong in any way. The only one who said Cornuke was lying was the guy Cornuke made that claim about.

An archaeological discovery gives weight to the City of David Temple location. The ring of an official named Nathan-meleck was discovered in an area where the West Gate would be if the Temple was indeed in the City of David. Why is this significant? Because Nathan-meleck is mentioned in 2 Kings 23; 11. It mentions "the chamber of Nathan-meleck the official which was in the precincts". "Precincts" was translated from the word Parbar, and we know from I Chronicles 26;18 that Parbar is at the Western entrance to the Temple. So Nathan-meleck's chambers were at the Parbar at the Western Gate of the Temple and his ring was found in the City of David where the Temple West Gate would be...

I just hear a lot of it must be and not here is why. I don't have a horse in the game but it's obvious the only thing you have to go off of is "Tradition". Tradition based off experiences from hundreds of years after the Temple stood. Trumpeting Stone could have been on the 600ft walkway between FT Antonia and the Temple. The stairs? If it was Ft Antonia It would have needed stairs too. The Living Water Source to the Temple is non existent until Harods time when the Roman's built an Aqueduct from Solomons Pool. Do you honestly believe the Roman's built an Aqueduct to the Temple out of the kindness of their hearts? Or was that water for their fort? Think about it. Common sense. I'm not saying the Temple was, or was not, on the Temple Mount. Simply that you have provided no evidence it was. Just repeating it was and saying Tradition says over and over does not suffice.

''AND SOLOMON COMMENCED TO BUILD THE HOUSE OF THE LRD IN JERUSALEM ON MOUNT MORIAH" Divrei Hayamim II - II Chronicles - Chapter 3: 1And Solomon commenced to build the House of the Lord in Jerusalem on Mount Moriah, where He had appeared to his father David, which he had prepared in David's place, in the threshing floor of Ornan the Jebusite.

@@paulawallace8784 Yes Scripture is Truth. I Question that Mount Moriah is Where it is Claimed to be Today. Which would be Outside of the Old City. I lean toward the two ancient records that Mount Moriah was Razed Down Into the Valley Side? This House that Solomon Commenced to Build was in Jerusalem as this Scripture clearly reads. Today's so called Temple Mount would have been Outside of Jerusalem in Solomon's Day. And as Ornan was a Jebusite. I Contend that His Threshing Floor was most likely within the City of Jebus. Or City of David, or Jerusalem and not Outside the City at the so called Temple Mount. Although Ornan may have Owned Land Outside the City. This verse can help your view without Historical context or help my view with Historical context. Yehovah said a few times that He would pick a City to Place His Name. Yehovah. So clearly it would be a Place that was already established as a City. And Not Outside of a City. Inside the Old City, Gihon Spring would be at a Perfect Location if the Temple was South of the so called Temple Mount. Temple Needs Running "Living" Water as Commanded. I Doubt that they Pumped the Water Uphill to the so called Temple Mount. Clearly One Stone still remains upon another at the so called Temple Mount Foundations. Nothing stands in the way of Rebuilding on the Correct Site but Stubborn Tradition. Like the Stubborn Tradition that 3 Days & 3 Nights are an Evening Day & Evening of less than 36 hours. or the Stubborn Tradition that a Clear Command from the Fiery, Smoking, Quaking Mount of Shofar Shout that Grew Exceeding Loud was Unclearly Changed by Tradition & Not Command from Sabbath to Sunday. So I think this is such great info! … and I’m such a thinker here. What if… 🤔… the place that they found in the old city of David which is claimed to be where according to that guy was the place where they had the temporary place of worship before Solomon built the temple? … because in the Bible it does say that the Ark of the covenant was placed in an area temporarily which is why David wanted to build a permanent place for it?!?! Just here in my thoughts. Any info on this? Could y’all find out? And make a video? Unless I’ve missed it.

What did the first century witnesses say? In the writings of the Roman Historian Tacitus below he said a “spring of never-failing water” came out of the Jewish temple. (The Jews Book Five (1-13) of The Histories by Tacitus ) 12. The Temple was like a citadel and had its own walls, which had been even more laboriously and skilfully constructed than the rest. The porticoes around it constituted in themselves an excellent defensive position. To these advantages must be added a spring of never-failing water, chambers cut in the living rock, and tanks and cisterns for the storage of rainwater. Its builders had foreseen only too well that the strange practices of the Jews would lead to continual fighting. Hence everything was available for a siege, however long. Moreover, after Pompey's capture of Jerusalem, fear and experience taught them many lessons. So taking advantage of the money-grubbing instincts of the Claudian period, they purchased permission to fortify the city, and in the days of peace built walls meant for war. Already the home of a motley concourse, its population had been swollen by the fall of the other Jewish cities, for the most determined partisan leaders escaped to the capital, and thereby added to the turmoil. There were three different leaders and three armies. The long outer perimeter of the walls was held by Simon, the central part of the city by John, and the Temple by Eleazar. John and Simon could rely on numbers and equipment, Eleazar on his strategic position. But it was upon each other that they turned the weapons of battle, ambush and fire, and great stocks of corn went up in flames. Then John sent off a party of men, ostensibly to offer sacrifice but in reality to cut Eleazar and his followers to pieces, thus gaining possession of the Temple. Hence-forward, therefore, Jerusalem was divided between two factions, until, on the approach of the Romans, fighting the foreigner healed the breach between them. In the passage below we find Titus used Fort Antonia as his base of operations on the day the temple was burned during 70 AD. They had previously gained access to the temple by attacking the foundation of Antonia for seven days. (Book 6, Chapter 2, Section 7) This passage proves at least part of Fort Antonia remained intact on the day the Jewish temple was destroyed. From War of the Jews, by Josephus, Book 6, Chapter 4, sections 4-5. "4. Now it is true that on this day the Jews were so weary, and under such consternation, that they refrained from any attacks. But on the next day they gathered their whole force together, and ran upon those that guarded the outward court of the temple very boldly, through the east gate, and this about the second hour of the day. These guards received that their attack with great bravery, and by covering themselves with their shields before, as if it were with a wall, they drew their squadron close together; yet was it evident that they could not abide there very long, but would be overborne by the multitude of those that sallied out upon them, and by the heat of their passion. However, Caesar seeing, from the tower of Antonia, that this squadron was likely to give way, he sent some chosen horsemen to support them. Hereupon the Jews found themselves not able to sustain their onset, and upon the slaughter of those in the forefront, many of the rest were put to flight. But as the Romans were going off, the Jews turned upon them, and fought them; and as those Romans came back upon them, they retreated again, until about the fifth hour of the day they were overborne, and shut themselves up in the inner [court of the] temple. 5. So Titus retired into the tower of Antonia, and resolved to storm the temple the next day, early in the morning, with his whole army, and to encamp round about the holy house. But as for that house, God had, for certain, long ago doomed it to the fire; and now that fatal day was come, according to the revolution of ages; it was the tenth day of the month Lous, [Ab,] upon which it was formerly burnt by the king of Babylon; although these flames took their rise from the Jews themselves, and were occasioned by them; for upon Titus’s retiring, the seditious lay still for a little while, and then attacked the Romans again, when those that guarded the holy house fought with those that quenched the fire that was burning the inner [court of the] temple; but these Romans put the Jews to flight, and proceeded as far as the holy house itself. At which time one of the soldiers, without staying for any orders, and without any concern or dread upon him at so great an undertaking, and being hurried on by a certain divine fury, snatched somewhat out of the materials that were on fire, and being lifted up by another soldier, he set fire to a golden window, through which there was a passage to the rooms that were round about the holy house, on the north side of it. As the flames went upward, the Jews made a great clamor, such as so mighty an affliction required, and ran together to prevent it; and now they spared not their lives any longer, nor suffered any thing to restrain their force, since that holy house was perishing, for whose sake it was that they kept such a guard about it." Why was Solomon anointed king of Israel in Gihon? 1Ki_1:38 So Zadok the priest, and Nathan the prophet, and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, and the Cherethites, and the Pelethites, went down, and caused Solomon to ride upon king David's mule, and brought him to Gihon. 1Ki_1:45 And Zadok the priest and Nathan the prophet have anointed him king in Gihon: and they are come up from thence rejoicing, so that the city rang again. This is the noise that ye have heard. 2Ch_32:30 This same Hezekiah also stopped the upper watercourse of Gihon, and brought it straight down to the west side of the city of David. And Hezekiah prospered in all his works. All of this provides tremendous evidence that the Dome of the Rock is the true location of Fort Antonia. Josephus said Fort Antonia was built upon a gigantic rock, and that rock is still there today.

Satan lives in a dead letter book, also a building built by human or demon hands.... This is why Satan had bibles made up by his rulers as a device to control the people by the old covenant principle of ruling by the written law, which was done away in Christ. The letter kills but the spirit gives life. People of this time are controlled by the bible instead of the Holy Ghost If you are under the control of the bible then you are controlled by Satan. Although I am in agreement that the temple was situated on the temple mount, I am not convinced that the location of the "trumpeting" stone or any of the other stones lying at the foot of the temple mount can be used as evidence; The romans supposedly destroyed the site containing caves claimed to be the tombs of the Davidic dynasty by quarrying it to build Aeolia Capitalina, they would not likely ignore a source of stones closer to hand such as those at the foot of the wall. I think it is more likely that these stones were repurposed, and fell during a later earthquake. I seem to recall a story that there was an earlier attempt to rebuild the temple, and an earthquake overthrew the stones they had already raised...

Seen the stones at the bottom that the Israeli Guys suggest are remains from the second temple but everything indicates no threshing floors but instead the remains shows 36 acres of the ruins of the Antonia Fortress. There are walkways for soldiers next to the walls, stables and trails for horses. The plaza is not flat it has slopes and trees everywhere. The feel one gets when looking down at the blockup Eastern Gate from the top of the mount is that One is inside a military Fortress not on top of Mount Zoriah. Another feeling one gets up there is Pure Evil, the hatred directed toward us from Muslim visiting the Dome of the Rock is real, this place has no feeling of being or ever having been holy or ever could be holy ground.

That is one of the strongest evidences they give for why the Temple could not have been on top of the Temple mount as you advocate. A 1,500 square foot building certainly couldn't house such an army of a Roman Legion. Nor as you suggest could it have housed even the 500 roman guards !

*Both Josephus and the Pilgrim gave the location as within the City of David, and one stadia (600 feet) BELOW the Millo, the market steps shown. *The Pool of Siloam was the people's mikveh, the ritual cleansing pool they used before walking to the temple. But if the temple was on the mount and not within the City, that means they had to walk over a sewage system WHICH WOULD HAVE MADE THEM UNCLEAN. Meaning the trip to the mikveh had been a waste of time. The rabbis would have never tolerated such a farce. *There is no living water on the mount, just made-made cisterns. The only living water is the Gihon Spring, down inside the City walls and within easy reach of the actual temple location. *There were more than 10,000 Roman troops and personnel occupying Jerusalem. The only place large enough to hold them was the mount. *A standard Roman military encampment is approximately 19.5 acres in size. Which, just coincidentally, is the size of the mount. Quite the coincidence. *What people call Fort Antonia just to the north of the mount was actually the Roman military stables. *Less scientific but still very interesting, is that David's tomb lines up precisely with the City location of the Holy of Holies, and not the mount. But finally and far more important is the "why". Why are people making such a fuss over the mount? It's because of the misconception of the location of the FINAL temple. Which must be where the last 2 were. Says who, exactly? Who says that's where it HAS to go next? But the Word says something quite different in Isaiah 1:26. Which gives the location as Gilgal. Gilgal, not Jerusalem. Gilgal, where the Ark of the Covenant rested for at least 14 years at the very beginning. Gilgal, which was used repeatedly thereafter as the location for the re-cleansing and re-dedication of Israel several times over the millennia. Gilgal, that was recently located and excavated. Gilgal, which is located in an area that is undisputed as to ownership. THE LAST DAYS TEMPLE WILL BE LOCATED IN GILGAL, not Jerusalem. The Word says so.

Hi your message was not clear. I still dont know if the top where the Mosque sits is the original Temple site - or below the Flat top or traditional site ?

It's lack of faith that allows alternate site viewpoints. If you see the dome of the rock or the mosque as problems you don't know God...

How's that a lack of faith? The Bible tells you were it is located. To just follow tradition over the Bible... THAT'S a lack of faith.

There is a third location. Not in the city of David, but on the mt to the west of the temple mt. Old pictures prior to israel rebirth, show it as the sight of the temple

The stairs... how do you account for Saul being brought UP from the temple to the Roman Fortress by Legionnaires, for his protection, when he was threatened with death by the Temple Guards? (Acts 21:31-37). He was brought UP, the soldiers carrying him UP. Fortress Antonia is NOT the Temple area. It measures 35 acres, one short of the nominal 36 acres a typical Roman Fortress encompassed based upon remnants found in multiple areas around Europe.

The Antonia was a tower, of course there would be stairs. This isn't a problem for the traditional site

In the time of the crusades without any evidence people started believing The Haram was the Temple complex. SO, they had to start transferring the original names of the Temple gates to the ruins of ft. antonia and the result was in several gates having the same name. But the Jews of the time of Omar KNEW beyond the shadow of a doubt where the temple was. On the Ophel just north of Mt. Zion where the only source of fresh water could be found in Jerusalem, the Gihon.

I am neutral about this subject as I have heard evidence on both sides . That said , IF the Temple was to be where people say it is (whatever the theory) , where is God in all this? Scripture is pretty clear of the power of the Holy of Holies . Scripture is pretty clear of the huge spiritual manifestations that happen in the actual area of the Temple. BUT , what do we see? Muslims partying and having a great time in the alleged Temple.

The strongest biblical evidence: "Then Solomon began to build the temple of the LORD in Jerusalem on Mount Moriah (!!!), where the LORD had appeared to his father David. It was on the threshing floor of Araunah the Jebusite, the place provided by David". (2 Chronicles 3:1) Now Solomon assembled the elders of Israel and all the heads of the tribes, the chief fathers of the children of Israel, to King Solomon in Jerusalem, that they might bring up the ark of the covenant of the Lord FROM (!!!) from the City of David, which is Zion. (1 Kings 8:1)
