Exactly! Diamond in the rough. I used to live in Hawai'i and study Hawaiian, and Pokai Bay was the only place anyone ever actually spoke Hawaiian with me. That is one of my beautiful memories of my time there. I already knew about Waianae's nice beaches but really enjoyed hearing the uplifting story of Ka'ala Farms (glad I used to buy their products sometimes!) and know the area is full of potential. Waianae is the best place to visit and see I got friends and family that live in the Waianae areas. You gotta love Waianae people they know who to live the old ways and take care of each other with Aloha.

I've been fascinated with this community for years and always wondered why it's been a cesspool of anger, poverty, violence, drug abuse, and prostitution. Like why is it a small town in one of the most beautiful and majestic places in the world has the mentality of Detroit and South Central L.A. Something else I noticed is few of the people look Asian. I know a few people of Puerto Rican and Portuguese ancestry from there, and my son has a friend of Samoan and Maori ancestry from there as well.

NO PLACE LIKE HOME!!!

I got a new one for the west side. Today I driving home to Makaha. While at a stop light at old govt. rd. And Farrington I saw a man beating a woman on the ground behind his truck at the gas pumps at Tesoro. After a few seconds of watching this the light changed green and I stepped on it and got in front of the car next to me. I then got into the Tesoro lot where the guy buy this time just dragged this girl into his truck and closed the door. I called 911about the time the guy took off. I was talking to the dispatcher telling her what happened and this guys location. This went on for 5 or 10 minutes until it got unsafe for me to keep maneuvering. The last message to 911 was he is going toward town on Farrington hope you catch him. The fucked up thing is, I stopped because I was driving with one hand because I am in a sling from shoulder surgery a few weeks ago. I was still willing to go into Tesoro and physically stop this assault and and kidnapping even though I was impaired. But while I was on Farrington trying to go to the rescue I saw several big local guys just watching this while pumping there gas, not even doing anything.
