Petco ,so much has changed since we started watching you from your living room couch .Its seems a lifetime ago that you first rehoused your first baby tarantula .Then you became an animal mom from tarantulas to Cappuccino to Felix to Despacito to Dart Frogs to fish ,to your first build of very cool homes you designed.Subs have sent some very cool large tarantula gifts ,I remember you getting 20 babies at a time and ya had to rehouse them all ya handled it like a Pro . Petco so many molts later animals come and gone and they will always be remembered .😊 Now we have the Jungle Arium to fill ,observe ,and enjoy ? It's finally done can't wait untill the new animals are thriving inside. We have been a fans and adding you to be apart of our family and now you have a beautiful family as well .Thanks Petco for everything you have taught us ,done for us ,and sharing your experiences through camera angles .Blessed Be

Hatching out some tropical butterflies now and again and keep them in there would also look wonderful! They can live for months and you don't have to keep several of the same species of you are afraid of them multiplying. A lot of them also have VERY specific needs for reproducing. I keep some in the massive greenhouse at work in the summers, it is wonderful and really very simple. A lot of them feed on rotting fruit.

Thai micro crabs (Limnopilos naiyanetri), Fire-bellied newts (Cynops pyrrhogaster), Emerald Roachs (Pseudoglomeris magnifica), Scolecophidia, Blind snakes or Thread snakes, but i've never seen them for sale, but the are very much like worms in looks and size and are Insectivorous, Dwarf/Pygmy chameleon species from the genus (Brookesia) or (Rhampholeon).

I honestly don't think that you'd have to worry about a salamander eating the frogs. The frogs are way too fast for them, salamanders are pretty slow in comparison. And that's if it'd even bother trying, since they usually just eat bugs and stuff. You would maybe have to worry about it eating millipedes though, unless they're really big ones then it could leave them alone and just eat the crickets and stuff you feed. Also, you could get away with having a bigger snake/lizard in there if they were big enough to not view the others as food. A big boa for example wouldn't view any of those things as food, they're just too small to even consider. They're looking for stuff the size of a guinea pig, not one of its toes lol.

You could create an ecosystem. Establish the mourning geckos/frogs--> introduce a vine snake (primary diet are lizards)-->have some anoles or day geckos (gold dusted day geckos are absolutely stunning!)-->small species of crab-->some fish that will thrive in the water space?? If you are thinking about dekay snakes please get captive bred only. They primarily eat worms and small insects

Rough or smooth green snake is a good choice dont rule it out they can hardly manage an adult cricket. Although in cm 50 might sound a lot but in reality they are extremely slender and fragile and affraid of anything basically aaand they re arborial highly arboreal would never go down and meet the frogs

You'll find your dart frogs in the most unlikely of locations, my dendrobates tinctorius, although terrestrial, spend allot of their time up in the branches of their enclosure, 12-24 inches above the substrate 😊 oh, and Euphrynicus bacillifer are a smaller species of tailless whip scorpion, I have one and he's a joy to feed

i missed the live stream so no live comment, but i think a lot of diff dartfrogs would be cool imagine all the colours. and for sure day gecko, maybe senegal chameleons or leaf chameleons? they stay small and wouldn't hurt the others. and for chameleons they're easy too keep so wouldn't be too bad in a big enclusure. and if you're doing fish, red neon in a school would give a cool pop of colour in the water area.

Sadly I don't think the fire salamanders would be a good fit for this enclosure. They get stressed out very easily by warmer temperatures. They do REALLY well anywhere between 15C-20C max. They will also eat anything that moves. I think your dart frogs would definitely be on their menu. :o

I once had a paludarium that was a little smaller than this one. I have in it 6x hyla cinerea(treefrog), a pair of opheodrys aestivus (a snake that only eats insects), 10x takydromus smaragdinus (long-tailed lizard). I also had Lepidodactylus in the beginning but my disks were always dirty and they had so many babies. It took me a year to get everyone out there.

But unfortunately, there are no snakes that eat plants. Every species of snake needs to eat animals to survive. All snakes are obligate carnivores, which means they only eat meat. Snakes have short intestinal tracts, and cannot digest or extract nutrients from plant matter (e.g. vegetables).Jan 21, 2021
