Yeah, no one saw this coming. (Sarcasm.) this one disappointed me, dude. You knew better and yet you did it anyways. Disgusting. I’ve been following you a long time, but you just lost support from this one. You should be ashamed.

Having two tarantulas have bad molts with water dishes doesnt = 100% disapprove that water dishes are helpful for tarantulas. That’s not how science works! I am sorry the tarantula molted poorly though. With any spiders that prefer to web the top of enclosures you should always get a front opening enclosure OR one that comes apart near the middle area (see jumping spider enclosures)

My pumpkin patch had a bad molt like this. She molted successfully but then it's like she failed to harden completely and her legs were bent strangely just like this. I kept her enclosure plenty humid and she had a water source. I also can't really explain what happened. I left her alone for a couple of days hoping she would sort herself out and recover but unfortunately she died 😔

I would say keep an eye on all of your animals. We did just have a very big solar storm hit us not long ago which might actually be around when this happened. After the night with the Auroras here in the states. I have a strange rash on my inner elbow, animals just last night went back to normal. Birds chirping at midnight as if it's 6am. Foxes roaming around in day light which could be a coincidence. They're healthy. The den is near my place. Regardless animals have been weird in general. And if I can find the spider outside my home again I believe it was a failed molt as well it was in the same position for a few days. I forgot to look for it today. I'm just saying. Be aware of any possibility in order to at least try and prevent the negatives

It feels like some people come here specifically to bash Petko and don't even watch the video. He very clearly mentions this T had a water dish in the first 2 minutes of the video, so obviously it wasn't the lack of water dish...

I lost one of my slings to a bad molt it wasn’t a humidity issue it just happened. There was no rupture she just didn’t move her legs properly like they didn’t harden and they were just limb. Idk how it ended in a bad molt but unfortunately that’s the risk I really hate that it happened especially on my birthday.

My apologies for criticizing your work area and how it was too small and dark. I saw the size of your office and was amazed. I always watch your new videos when they come out and learn quite a bit from four or five of spider enthusiasts. Thank you..

Mine is a younger spider and it's last molt was a problem. It had a problem with it's leg and finally it lost 3 legs and is coping well and I am hoping it's next molt will be ok, and it gets it's legs back 😢

that mist on your lens is fungus. you need to store your lenses in a dry place, or risk getting fungus inside. it's totally fixable tho, just take it to your nearest camera repair shop.

I love your channel but this is why I will never keep more than 30 T’s, a hobby soon can turn into an obsession. I have time and with 27 it’s easy to maintain my enclosures. Everyone’s water is topped up daily when it’s hot weather, and all bowls washed weekly. I keep a damper side of ALL my enclosures too.

I have 30 Ts and snakes every evening I make sure they have water and have seen them drinking so many times. I don’t see why you can’t give them water in a bowl if you cannot provide this because you collection is to big then that’s the own fault It’s also no good having a water dish if it’s empty
@neneqtegusta5 күн бұрын
Her enclosure doesn't have enough substrate. Tarantulas like to climb the walls sometimes. Maybe she had a fall prior to her molt and that caused the rupture.
@chlordiazepoxide3 күн бұрын
not always. I've never had one of my terrestrial tarantulas climb the walls and I have 7 of those. Climbing behaviour is far more common with Arboreals. That amount of substrate is good for a terrestrial.
