I had one of those Cold Steel Choppers now I have 2. and I got me a Ontario Marine Bowie also ,that both real monsters partnah.

I have a 1917 Frontier Bowie and I tried to put a 15 degree edge on it with my Ken Onion worksharp. Well needless to say that since it is so thick it did not work too well. I will try a 25 degree edge next time.

I have both knives. I've have the Ontario SP10 for a few years, but it's the newer 1075 version. I love that knife. If I had to rely on 1 knife for everything, that would be my choice. Whats interesting is that Scab has the 1055 version of the 1917 Frontier Bowie. The newer verdion I have is 1085 high carbon steel. I think a comparison of the current versions would be interesting. IMO, while 1055 is fine for a machete, it's a bit too soft for a Bowie knife, or short sword, whatever you want to call the CS 1917 Frontier Bowie!
