The problem with the puzzles being hard is that you go through all that just to get a common chest. Like congrats on 2 primogems, now do 80 of these puzzles to get 1 single pull. The reward system is the real problem

True but at the same time if you're doing it just for rewards it's kinda like "why are you even playing the game?". If you don't find the puzzles and stuff fun you're kind of wasting your time anyway. But yeah a bit better stuff in chests would be nice from the in game resources viewpoint. Not even just more primos but if you could get some resin or something it would be cool.

I actually loved Dragonspine difficulty and I believe that and Inazuma turned people off from difficulty. It is what it is.

I loved Inazuma's difficulty spike(although I'm not the hyper-casual audience), it meshed perfectly with the more oppressive atmosphere of the story and environment.

In version 2.0 is when I feel like I (and a lot of other people) started farming artifacts more often. Prior to that my artifacts were not the greatest, and the challenge of the rifthounds (which felt cheap rather than challenging) and bulky mirror maidens with 2 million hp that trapped you and kept their distance… then the spectors that were small, not crowd controllable, dodged Yoimiya’s arrows, and went out of her small range, also horrible. Then the Kairagi’s health gimmick and lack of crowd control was also bad, when you didn’t know how to group them. With mediocre artifacts, most of those enemies felt bad. Raiden boss is still the most exciting thing in the game though.

2.x patch cycle is still my favorite to this day and judging by the direction they have been going in in the recent years it won't really change until the game dies...

Here is my omega copium take on the "artifact loadouts" feature coming in 4.4. Notice how for the past few patches they've been introducing features to help new or casual players build their characters better (artifact recommendations and artifact mainstat recommendations), and now in 4.4 we're getting a feature that basically builds the character for you based on the artifacts you have and the recommended set and mainstat for that character. My guess is they want to raise the average player's character strength before they introduce new challenging end game combat. They know that majority of genshin players are casuals (i mean they marketed it towards zelda fans, go figure) who don't bother building their characters properly, so adding a new end game content NOW before helping those casuals build their characters would only make it so that only a small portion of their playerbase would enjoy the new content.

I've been thinking about how Part 2 for HI3 kinda revamped some aspects of the game and my copium take so far is that when we get our genshin Part 2 we'll also get some form of new content...surely right aha aha...

My issue with the Inazuma puzzle is that it was incredibly finicky. I knew the solution, but the pieces wouldn’t cooperate.

I agree but most people even when the mechanics arent finicky still complain about it being too difficult. Only the relay stones and electo things you fly to are finicky. The rest are pure puzzles and people also complain about those.

They should make Geo react with itself. We already have a similar system with zhongli's pillar resonance. Its kinda like the constructs are reacting with eachother. Maybe when geo comes into contact with geo it could trigger "Nucleation" and deal an extra burst of geo damage, or slow all enemies hit because they're weighed down by growing crystals. You could build the reaction to incentivize triggering it as many times as possible (like with aggravate) so that it becomes stronger the more geo characters you bring, synergizing with the current strongest geo centric teams. Just ANYTHING to bring some variety to the ways we can play Geo would be fun.

Giving more damage for Geo characters are bad for the game since the devs designed them to have extremely high multipliers in their kit to compensate for the lack of offensive reaction. More damage won't solve anything, at least not for our current rosters of Geo characters. They should focus on improving Crystallize instead. Make it at least viable as a defensive option. They can still add more reaction for Geo, but it has to be Transformative/Additive or anything new that they can come up with, as long as it isn't Amplified Reaction.

​@@AevyCh Not really, trust me when I say big numbers fix everything. The biggest example of this is Neuvilette, his core gameplay is boring as shit, both his skill and burst are just resets for his charged attack, if you halved his damage and the healing he gets (making it that he loses more hp than he gains) you would feel how truly boring he is. Double Itto's damage and people would be having a field day with him, chucking a bull for 150k unbuffed damage across the room alone would be hilarious. Imagine Zhongli having Geo infusion and continued Geo application Petrified his enemies, to then nuke them with either his hold E or his Burst.

I think zaj is having major tunnel visioning here because he’s the math guy and only a meta minded audience watches him. You wouldn’t believe how much of genshins fanbase is composed of the casualest of casuals, and this is coming from a guy who consistently and relatively comfortably clears floor 12 every cycle. Most of my irl genshin friends refuse to build meta characters and almost resist when i try to give them directions about who to build because they simply don’t like those characters. They tend to ignore abyss completely and even earlier floors can be challenging for them. I’m sure mihoyo has the stats to back up what they focus their development time on, and those stats probably say that compared to making new story and events and characters, a new gamemode or new abyss floors or new pro oriented qol features have a lower return on investment. The whole “they want you to play their other games” sounds like conspiracy bs to me, sure they intentionally drum up comparisons to draw in new players but at the end of the day, all their games are completely different and cater to different people.

This is so f-ing true, I was surprised at how much casually my friends and other people I know IRL play this game. They knew NOTHING about optimizations, met a girl saying "Wriothesley is my husbando" and she was running him with Pyro% goblet just to have the 4pc set effect. The average player understands NOTHING of meta content, or how to play the game efficiently. That's why the overworld (and all content outside of Abyss) is braindead-level easy.

Someone else mentioned that the new artifact auto equip and recommendation features could be mihoyo preparing their casuals for harder content, and I’m coping that this could be true. But either way i feel like improvements may come soon one way or another, they’ve been consistently releasing quite a few QoLs. I’m not as negative as Zaj is, I wouldn’t be surprised if the team at Mihoyo is constantly sleepless and overworked because that’s how the gaming industry has been lately, so I just make suggestions and accept things as they come.

The ability to disable constellations not being in the game is weird, because Honkai Impact 3rd has the ability to freely enable/disable any passive for any character, even the ones core to a character's function. They've had that function for years. EDIT: Apparently I am mistaken and a large number of passives in HI3 can't be turned off. Apologies for misinformation, but it's still fucking strange that you can't do it in Genshin.

this is soooo not true. switch attack (not QTE) still cannot be disabled, and some characters suffer for it (mostly Blood Dance carrier for quick 0/1sec kill in Memorial Arena).

I think the problem geo has is Hoyo for the past years should've add geo units more frequently rather than not having one for literally 2 years. Before Navia the only team that felt like focusing on geo is Itto mono geo or Noelle mono geo which both love def and has the same team build logic , making geo team restrictive. Ning felt more like a driver that uses geo, the presence of geo is low, of course here we are not talking hyper carry Ning because it's lacking, whether it's damage, mechanics or synergistic teammates.

@@irena4929You’re not entirely wrong, but there are a lot of differences. Geo has synergy with geo itself, while physical is the complete opposite. Physical also works well in reaction teams, since all physical units have an element. Superconduct itself is not great, but electro-charged, freeze, aggravate, hyperbloom, etc all work with superconduct. Geo hurts reactions, but offers a lot of buffs, damage, and/or defensive capabilities in exchange. There’s a lot of differences, even though I think it’s a bit redundant to have both.

I don't understand why they aren't adding Artifact Loadout in the game. It's not even hard to code on the server side. We just want 3 slots minimum and we're good to go. If another character is using that piece, a prompt will show up so you could choose whether to go with it or not. Simple.

@@qlqjd856 this feature makes it easier for you to move artifacts from one character to another, so you don't have to grind too many artifacts or even grind artifacts for each character. hoyo always wants to make players think that "each character must have their own set of artifacts" in short, this feature reduces the player's intensity in constantly grinding artifacts

I actually think Cryo needs the buff more than Geo. Geo is balanced around the fact that it does not have damaging reactions and geo characters have higher base damage on their abilities to compensate. It actually makes them feel different from other elements in a distinct pattern. Meanwhile Cryo is balanced around freeze being broken but in recent years it just doesn't work half the time because bosses are immune to it.

Well.... Cryo needs changes, but it has a more well-defined presence than Geo. There should be a change to enemies that nullify specific effects; enemies that freeze don't affect should have an additional effect applied to them, which means you can use freeze in that situation. I think something similar should be applied to effects like Venti's ult, which is strongly affected by the enemies. I also believe that fixing Mona (c1 freeze effect) or other Mona QoL buffs would help Freeze feel more fun and dynamic.

Unironically, that's the real problem with voicing every quest--it discourages skipping and/or quickly reading through dialog, making them take longer. Downloading the voice files when you do the quest also takes time (and server bandwidth) so this doesn't magically fix the storage issue, either. Not to mention having to pay voice actors in four languages for countless hours of extra work...

To add, voiced content is not gonna magically make world quests compelling. The Ace attorney games and even the game genshin copies, BOTW, is not 100% voiced. The entirety of the Zelda franchise didn't even have voice until BOTW, yet people are incredibly ingrossed into these franchises plots. The unvoiced scenes have very good animation, expressive characters, and text and sound effects that let you imagine what a characters voice is like. But most importantly of all, it was all really good writing

@@MsDestroyer900 The reason people want voiced world quests is because they're really good, and people think they're more deserving of being voiced than the, until Sumeru, poorly written archon quests. People want them to be voiced because they're invested in the characters, and want people who don't play world quests because they aren't voiced, or skip through them, to actually play them. The desert quest series is many people's favourite content in the game.

@@bookswithike3256 It isn't feasible with how many quests are in the game. Elden ring has less quests than this game and it also took up ~5 years of development. To make it even feasible, they need to have a library of animations and sounds to pull from that are better than the ones we have now as we dont even have speech jingles... comparing genshin to other large scale open world games, the moment to moment cutscenes are incredibly barren and devoid of life.

I'd love 3 or 4 loadouts for characters. That's enough space to have a couple ER breakpoints and a meme build, or builds for different playstyles/reactions. We could simultaneously build a ToM-healer Kokomi, bloom-trigger Kokomi and carry Kokomi, for instance. Or Raiden builds for hyperbloom, aggravate and national/hyper. A classic Aquila-NO Bennett build, a Sapwood-Instructor build for dendro teams and an off-meta carry build. *sigh* It'd be so nice.

I would definitely like at least 3, but a lot of people who really want it also aren’t the type to get that many builds or have diversity for a set. I constantly see people who play equip their characters and realize afterwards they stole pieces from other characters in those same two teams. I definitely want it, but I feel like a lot of people who do want it don’t farm enough artifacts to even get value out of it. It’s the same reason I farm a full set for every character I use. It’ll make switching easier, but it’s not gonna fix the people who have to constantly equip characters just to use them because their pieces are scattered on other units.

Something I really wanted was a proper integration between my account and the interactive map, that way I could enjoy the exploration fully and go back later if I missed anything. Having to manually check everything sucks, and looking at it beforehand would spoil things, so I feel forced to watch those "ALL OCULI" videos sometimes.

Yes! Even beyond specifically a map, I wish there were more initiatives to have degrees of specificity, some site where any given page starts off with just the general area to be looking for something, with vague indications up front. But, barring that, is it too much to ask that folks detail how a game expected us to find the answer, just detail the context we missed rather than throwing down the final result wholly disconnected from the narrative of a quest or puzzle?

one thing is i wish they had the same pity system for hsr’s 75/25 weapon banners. that could potentially enable having 3 banners without wondering about what to do about the epitomised path.

hsr 75/25 comes from genshin. They just made the right move to not share the 75% chance of getting the limited weapon to be tied with 2 different weapons

Updated character models also goes for older characters like Diluc and Albedo who the community complains look “ugly” in comparison to new characters like Navia or Neuvilette, it’s logical since the game has changed and grown but hoyoverse just wouldn’t do this since they have no incentive too. They only tend to do things when there’s profit and making diluc prettier won’t really do anything And also it’s sad they won’t make new models, where’s the buff men 😔

My two cents is that the artifact recommendation and quick selector are stepping stones towards eitehr harder exploration content or a new combat endgame. This game has a heavy focus on its casual playerbase and its casuals dont take the tie to build their characters properly or invest into optimal builds. the 4.4 artifact quick-equip is a stepping stone before an actual artifact preset feature that you can freely assign to characters. Thus, casual players would have an easier time equipping the right or optimal builds for their characters so that they can adapt to a new combat endgame or more prevalently challenging overworld content.

my cope is similar to yours. all this preparation aside, every nation had something big for the game. inazuma was novelty of finally some huge content, sumeru had dendro for combat and tcg for casual play, fontaine had underwater exploration and furina fundamentally changing the team building. natlan is the nation of war, so it only makes sense to have a new permanent combat mode in addition to some flying stuff in exploration (since dragons)

The thing with Geo Reactions I think doesnt even boil down to people really wanting more variety in their Geo Reactions but the feeling of neglect. Geo has one reaction, it didnt get a single character during all of Sumeru and there most rarely is situation where its good to bring Geo. To me it really felt like Hoyo just didnt know what to do with Geo after Itto. The element because of the limited amount of reactions, has less design space than the other elements, the element isnt strong in the game so there isnt really a meta reason to go for them and genereally speaking Geo probably doesnt sell as well as other elements so they neglected it, It hink thats more at the core of "more Geo reactions situation". Its not even a debate that Geo is by far the worst element in the game and people just feel shafted. Im pretty happy with Navia now, shes a lot of fun and seems publically well recived and there is also Chiori coming in the future. I really hope theyll keep building on that and maybe create some enemies where it would be good to have an actual Geo dps .... Like Geo Lector? xD Anyways rambled on a bit. Just introduce debuffs that are anti-healing and require blunt to break then geo (and claymore) will shine. It is just a design choice issue on the enemy side. The problem is Zhongli being overtuned that whenever something asks for Geo, Zhongli slots-in and players call it day. There is no reason to use Geo if Zhongli answers the question without much issue.

15:09 - World quests can't be voiced because they would completely overwhelm and overwork Paimon's VA, who receives all the back-and-forth conversations from ALL NPC characters in the game. Even if you limit it to lore-focused world quests like Sacred Sakura Cleansing, Tsurumi Island, Enkanomiya, Aranyaka, Golden Slumber, Dirge of Bilqis, Khvarena of Good and Evil, Narzissenkreuz Ordo, Wild Fairy of Erinnyes, etc., it would completely lead to Paimon's VA being overworked by the workload, even if its over time. Especially since she's present during Archon quests and Interlude chapters and every patch with limited event story content. I used to think it was a storage issue, but I think it's because they have Paimon do all the vocal lifting instead of giving Zach/Sara more of the leading vocal role.

Yeah, Genshin's not a puzzle game at its core, so harder puzzles are not in the devs' interest. Especially if they require more work to design and present them in a clear way. Optional harder overworld challenges are nice, though. I think a WL9-10 with only some minor incentive, like slightly increased monster drops, could be healthy. Those who want a harder overworld get a borderline placebo reward, those who want to breeze through don't actually miss out on anything meaningful.

I have been playing since release with some breaks here and there, still, I have 1040 active days (so about 4,5-5 months of inactivity in total? ). I still can't just experiment with teams on a whim, level up previously unused characters even though I'm a low spender, borderline f2p so I don't even pull on that many new characters (1-2 welkins / year). That said I would honestly take abyss difficulty in open world even without ANY additional rewards just to finally enjoy OW again. Now you might say just that me not being able to level up all characters is actually perfect, just experiment with new teams and play with underleveled characters! The problem is that the OW is easily beatable by a solo Aloy. The gap between the abyss and the OW combat content is way too massive. Half or less built characters won't do anything in the Abyss, but still be OP for open world, so it neither fixes the OW issue, nor can I experiment with it in the Abyss... So back to OW I already felt this in Sumeru but Fontaine just felt shallow and unengaging. My enjoyment only came from the sceneries, some better world quests and side stories, the occasional new hard boss enemies and that was pretty much it. Actual gameplay was pretty much nonexistent. "Puzzles" if we can even call them that are even more braindead than in Sumeru (nation of wisdom btw), enemies are more and more squishy as time goes by, farming already got old 2 years ago. And honestly this is what annoys me about the game the most, it's like they are allergic to actual gameplay. Zajef is probably right, they literally don't want their players to actually play the game. Eh whatever enough ranting, it's probably due for another couple month long break for me...

@@jonnyjoker01 The overworld is that easy to let casual and newer players keep up, "anxiety"-free and without major challenge. Some casual players already find WL8 too hard and scale down to 7. (lol) So giving a proper incentive for higher WLs would make people who barely handle WL8 complain about FoMo way too much. Realistically, all we can hope for with higher WLs is a slim increase to non-resin rewards, I feel. But I'd also take that no questions asked, 1080 days here. Last time I found overworld combat challenging was probably when I was finishing up my friendship 10s during 2.x, doing commissions with increasingly nonsensical teams of 4x unleveled charas. It was really engaging to find out how DPS Chongyun feels (that c4 cryo wave is very satisfying, as it turns out) or giving Xinyan a genuine shot as a defensive option because I had none else left on the list. I've heard those "just nerf yourself into the ground" takes a bunch, but taking a well-built character and downgrading them to do less damage than a support is painfully unsatisfying... I'd rather clear a commission before my rotation even gets past the setup phase than actively take away progress I worked for.

Same as rewarding Players for spending money or fixating on stats If you were told that killing New LEGENDS gave 200 primogens but the level of investment was past floor 12 difficulty doesn't that basically say that your punishing Players for not gambling or grinding

@@demonking-zm3rs Abyss level difficulty would not take 2 seconds to clear. The fact that it's hard would make it more engaging and without the presence of a timer it would make it less stressful and present each encounter as an actual challenge rather than just a plain DPS check. Also I don't know about you but I pull for characters because I want to use them in my teams, not just play walking simulator and stare at their backs all day. As a long time player I'm at a point where I can't even execute a rotation in the open world, just the setup itself kills all enemies. If I pulled a character that has active burst field time, everything dies before I can get enough energy to use their burst. Then at the next encounter everything dies from the burst pretty much instantly, which gives me no chance to actually enjoy the character apart from bringing them into the Abyss, which resets twice a month... Regrading the grinding part of your comment, I'm exactly talking about that as a problem. It takes weeks, or if we take artifact farming into consideration, months to make a character reach near full potential because of hoyo's progression system design. It SHOULDN'T be this grindy. Giving more resources = reduces grind. But it's trash on purpose obviously. If hoyo didn't want people be fixated on stats they wouldn't have made this system like this in the first place.

The Watatsumi puzzle is a magic square. Surprised I never see anyone recognize it, it's a well known math problem and anyone who has anything to do with a little math probably knows it. Best puzzle so far.. Though imho it was literally incorrectly presented. The tutorial for it said something about "floating stone" trying to point out the different ones, when there was literally no stones floating anywhere. The things they meant had stones simply sitting on top, but not floating. I was so confused lol But yeah the puzzle itself once you know the rules is really not hard at all if you can be assed to give the slightest bit of attention. Most Sudoku are harder. I really hope anyone who wasn't able to solve it and complains about more reward didn't actually try. I'd hope anyone at best 12y+ would be able to do this ..

Zaj won't ever see this but I wanted to say I think he was talking about the more difficult exploration from a false perspective, in that the reason players don't like harder puzzle content is that the rewards given aren't consistently representative with the effort put in. In Inazuma for combat we had the stat buff to enemy HP scaling, to meet with the consistent increase in players skill at the game, and that their character's builds were also stronger. I think at the same time they expected players skill at solving puzzles to increase. We already had a precident in Liyue and Mondstadt on the difficulty and respective rewards of chests, basic are easy, out in the wild, or kill 1 enemy, a Exquisite might be something a little more hidden, a simple puzzle, and beyond Precious is complex puzzles, multiple challenges, and Luxiruious behind extended quests. While they increased the difficulty of puzzles in Inazuma, players skill didn't increase naturally, and unlike combat there was no game mechanic to scale the players power, but more significantly while making the game more interesting and challenging they gave out the same rewards as previously easier content, so I think players felt cheated when putting in more effort, time and thought without better rewards. If they wanted to add harder puzzles consistently, to please the player base and meet expectations, they would have to put more primogems behind it, and they don't want to give out more exploration rewards per patch, it's as simple as that, they have their formula. Edit: If you think about one of the more recent "difficult" puzzles, the spinning dials in the fortress of meropide, while ignoring the terrible UI/instructions for that, they could make it difficult for players without feeling cheated because the rewards were in a different currency, the custom meropide currency, so you didn't really have an expectation of it's worth.

hard agree on the exploration one... like each hoyo game has its own thing where it shines the most, and exploration should be genshin's thing, because it's THEE open world game of hoyo. so having a harder exploration content is and should be good for it.. but because they also want to cater to a wider crowd, they also can't do that either, lest many casual players quit because "waahh puzzle too hard!!" 😑🙄😒 like i can understand if they don't want to put harder combat contents on the game, cus maybe they want honkai to have that. but at least let genshin have the harder exploration content damn

What's wild to me is that artifact loadouts are literally in the game. When you pick a team for Abyss, it saves the weapon/artifacts for that team. You can go and test this as well, load in, then quit without resetting, change weapons and artifacts, and load back into that first Abyss run. Your character will have the weapons and artifacts you had the first time. The technology exists in game, and at the very least for 8 units. Maybe the thing holding it back is storage space on servers(I doubt it) or some dev philosophy against its implementation.

I have to disagree with the geo part. Earth reacts with a ton of stuff irl: heat and pressure creates diamonds, water penetrating certain minerals can create crystals. It's the element of riches not only in the sense that gold and crystals can be shiny, but also in that it can absorb all kinds of nutrients and elements from nature to add to its structure. Having said that, I think the biggest buff geo needs in the game would be to make crystallize more versatile, to make the crystals do more than cover us with useless shields after consuming an element that could've been used for a much more useful reaction (AKA making us lose DPS). I'm not opposed to a geo + dendro reaction though.

16:17 Considering that you can hold multiple playthroughs on the different servers, they'd have to be downloading and deleting this in real time for it to be efficient, not to mention the fact if you disconnect mid-dialogue/cutscene it replays. So yeah it is a trade of storage and connection requirements theoretically (based on my very limited understanding)

I would be cool if they let you pick voice over language per character (except for cutscenes). You could set your Inazuma characters to JP, and your Liyue characters to CN. More people being exposed to Chinese language would be congruent with their not-so-secret mission of spreading positive impressions of Chinese culture. Plus you could listen to Korean Itto whenever you want.

Too small-scale to be likely, I think. There are people out there who have C2 Raiden/Itto/Wanderer without a C0 of their dedicated support, but it's not news-worthy like a popular streamer getting 7 or 8 wrong 5-stars in a row live. People were using "the Tectone incident" to discourage each other from the banner, and quite effectively, so they introduced fate points to counteract that and in the end, still increase sales, because let's be honest, most players don't have enough for 3 5-stars on one banner anyway.

From a developer perspective, adding something like artifact load outs is probably something pretty high on their priority list, but not high enough to actually get done considering the LOE. The more recent artifact changes look like “temporary middle steps” that they use to just kinda address the issue.

The clearest reason why there won't be another endgame combat mode is the same reason he's giving for why there isn't harder exploration. People complained in the same way he pointed out in that puzzle video, and they complained hard. Whenever we got anything remotely difficult in events, people gave super negative feedback and we never got another "hard" combat event again. Why would the devs bother making another "abyss" level mode knowing this. It's crazy Zajeff isn't willing to admit this and just says, hey they want you to play honkai.

I feel like almost all of these aren't going to happen, we're 5 regions in now and there's no confirmation for regions after Snezhaya, but then again there has been very small changes made to some of these which does give hope like new models, new characters have been releasing with more 3d elements to them not making them look completely 2d

1: Skins. I can't believe a game as old as this has no skins for the majority of the characters. BY now every char should have MULTIPLE skins. 2: Integrated strategies from Arknights - hands down the best gacha/mobile game end game by far.. they can't do IS in Genshin cus there's only 2 rarities between 4 and 5* but they could try to do something similar. I have hundreds of hours of IS in arknights and its still fun, the replayability and the way its designed is just too good and other similar games should learn from it. It's basically end game content that makes every single character in the game- viable in some way because it introduces a lot of artifacts that can buff up different characters and it adds a cost system and stronger characters cost more so you HAVE to buy weaker ones just to make it until you get the stronger ones. It's just brilliant Think simulated universe but much better

I'm fine enough with the current individual characters' models' designs, but what I neeeed is for the older characters to get new return-to-idle animations! I've spent so much time recently doing different lengths of attack combos just to see the different ways the characters move, but the initial characters? It's rare to have anything more than the simplest path between where a weapon landed and where it's held idling. I want some pizazz between the lines!

One thing i would like to see would be for geo to react with itself, in the sense that an enemy affected by 2 geo stances in quick sucession drops a crystalize shield of geo,, something like that, and to reduce/remove the ICD of cristaly so that usinf more than one geo Character's attack (like with constructs) is more useful.

i feel like, the artifact loadouts yeah, it will 'somewhat' reduce the amount of farming people would do in artifact domains. it'd make some choices like people would only farm to such amount of artifacts that these 8 characters that they often use will just use these presets over again unless they use very niche artifacts, which doesnt seem to be the case for a lot of characters that output dmgs bcs niche chars would value like ER/ATK/HP etc that's not used widely anyway. they absolutely will never make farming artifacts feel 'easier' and presets WILL and they want you to farm as much as possible even if you already have good sets onto different characters 'just in case', they thrive in that 'just in case'.

I'll attempt an explanation for the "don't understand" section: Loadouts - They don't want to let you share sets between characters and thus have to farm less artifacts. (Locking each loadout to one character could instead make people farm even more, but this could backfire as artifact-farming burnout is already a problem.) Con Disable - Mostly a placebo change, 99% of players have no interest in this except for C6 Bennett, which is more of a meme than a real problem these days. Being able to switch them on and off also makes them feel more ephemeral, less momentous, and they want you to think they're valuable so you spend money getting them. Co-op - The multiplayer netcode for this game is infamously janky, and it's primarily a single-player game anyway. It'd be neat but I suspect this would be much harder to do than it sounds. Event Archive - Two words: Storage Space. Yes, you could uninstall/re-download stuff, but this is neither instantaneous for the player nor free for the server farms. It would also be a huge undertaking at this point with so many old events to add to the system.

I 100% AGREE WITH THAT TOWER OF FANTASY BIT. People don't understand that china has a large amount of gacha games and a lot of those china devs tend to copy each other and end upmaking said game a cash grab. Tower of fantasy isn't a competitor to genshin, it's one hell of a cash grab, and you know this is true when you read or know the latest news that happened in TOF CN.

Gacha games do have some form balancing through the form of character specific upgrades that can change kit effects and additional stats. Fire Emblem Heroes has weapon refinements and Arknights has modules, so it's not entirely impossible for characters to get some balance changes through something like that.

Idea for a Cryo-Dendro reaction: Its called Wither and it works similar to Electro-Charged, in the sense that an entity can be affected by both elements at the same time, but it doesn’t speed up the aura consumption speed. An entity affected by both a Dendro aura and a Cryo/Freeze aura has both its Attack and Defence stats reduced by 15%. The effect is doesn’t depend on Elemental Mastery, like Superconduct’s Physical Resistance reduction. This could enable fridge or hyperfridge comps since the DEF reduction also increases damage from bloom cores

Now that C6 Bennett isn’t even bad as we have Mika for physical teams, it’s not really necessary. I mean don’t get me wrong it would still be a nice feature to have and there are no negatives to it, but I just don’t feel like it would be used that much nowadays.

I dont really understand why nobobody literally ZERO GENSHIN CONTENT CREATORS mentioned WUTHERING WAVES wich realese in 2024 near october. They add SimUni and Abyss already this game has so much personality, animation and sound quality its insane. Even if in some aspect its based on genshin, WW is very unique game with own combat system.

I primarily play on a PS4 Pro, and it kinda blows my mind that there's no "delete previous quest data" options in this version. Was wild to me that I could do that in mobile, after so long of dealing with it.

They Already have the foundation for decent repeatable co op content. The one time domains could be mini dungeons ppl could do together resinless with upto 3x reward collection a week. The bounties could be the overworld "raids" where everyone could complete together. Scale the difficulties appropriate to multiplayer and these could be great. Also, pls release world level 9 with the new hypostasis mechanics they introduced once upon a time ago.

They should make geo + Hydro create mud reaction that slows the enemies. Geo + pyro creates lava (a better burn reaction). Geo + anemo creates petrify (a similar johnlee reaction) and so on... 😂

cw: rant About the harder puzzles thing; you know that hydro gate thing in Fontaine, which you activate and it just holds your hand to go along the "puzzle", collecting the elemental orbs and stuff for you (which you can't even cancel out of); it's literally cancer, my most hated exploration mechanic in the game rn. I cannot understand how it could be fun that the game literally just plays itself for you. Why are you even playing in the first place, and not just watching a movie or a youtube video instead?? I actively avoid all of them and look for alternative routes to do the tasks, it actually makes the game even more fun, because there can be so many alternative methods, even if you don't have every mechanic available to you

17:59 Quick comment on that person's remark, I actually had done that before where I deleted the older quest shit I didn't need and genshin later gave me a bunch of errors saying I should redownload said files. It was a bunch of 300 mb updates that ended up just fucking with my login times and it felt like shit

@zajef daily i would have replaced harder exploration content for world level 9 and 10 because we have system for decreasing the world level and one more thing is when you hit a high AR like 55 or 60 stamina is turned off in open world

About exploration, I would like not quest-locked areas. Like, it is so frustating seeing cool things and finding new places but you can't interact with them because you have to do a quest before it. And a quest implies at least 5 minutes of dialogues, which really break the immersion of exploration. I did all the areas from Monsdat to Sumeru with 100% but I won't really bother to explore Fontaine anymore. The melusine area can rest in peace. It is really a pity for me, but I'm not interested in how they tell us the lore of Teyvat, neither in all of the secondary characters (and sometimes neither of the primary characters). New combat modes? The game needs them SO B A D L Y. Like, I don't even care anymore of which character I take, it's useless since we just need 2 teams. They keep adding characters but characters after a certain point become pretty useless to get and one is the same as the other. New combat modes or trying new abyss floors that imply more than 2 teams would be cool.

The Melúsine village being accessible through Melúsine quests is fine. But this was really annoying in Sumeru desert, exploration of the temples and crypts completely railroaded by helpers and gated by failed scholars you have to keep talking to. Only the Tanit gated-exploration felt alright.

To be fair to that Inazuma puzzle it is shit on a technical level, it pushes the range limit of the relay stones beyond their limit and *will* undo your progress. The other one I also always heard about was the sudoku one which I agree with Zyox on where I don't know how to play this other game to do this puzzle. But people did complain about Inazuma so much beyond just those 2 puzzles so I still think you're right overall

Id love con disabling for one major reason, being bennett c6. I use his c6 in most of my comps, the only one it ruins being ayaka (though hes not usually used with her) and it would be fun to be able to toggle the pyro infusion. It’s literally not a problem anywhere except for in ayaka comps, since sometimes i do melt ayaka for fun and he gives kazuha a free pyro burst and a nice attack buff for ayaka. Geo NEEDS more reactions. Or at LEAST a crystallise rework e.g. crystallise shards buff their element by 12%, elemental shields stack but the effects cannot stack more than once on the same element, i.e. you can get a pyro crystallise shield and a cryo one, and you’ll get the bonus for both, but 2 cryo crystallise shields would not stack to make it 24% bonus. Artifact loadouts would save me so much time. I just want them. Please hoyo… Event archive would change lives. Just treat it like hsr?? Hsr has permanent events that you can do and you still get the rewards and primos, but it isn’t all of them. Events i can think of that would perfectly mesh are the chasm, enkanomiya and albedo events. It literally incentivises exploring these areas that NOONE explores again after doing their quests unless they want to 100% the area, which isn’t most players. If i’m being honest, i likely never would have activated bennett’s c6 if it wasn’t for the red mark. It being there caused me so much irritation. Let us remove the red mark without activating cons hoyo. Coop content? I don’t really _mind_ there not being much? Coop in general is mostly used for domains and bosses, or regional specialties. There are coop events, like the hide and seek one (forgot the name) and the one we had in the fontaine event (though i absolutely hated that coop event. It was so boring.) but i can see why people who play with their friends more than they don’t want it, there’s only so much to do. I wish they’d make just… little minigames around the place. If you’ve ever played or seen it takes two, you’ll know the kind im on about. One of the reasons i loved that game. The puzzle rant is kind of odd, i did the watatsumi one without a guide but i will say it was hella confusing. It’s also one of the most finicky puzzles ive ever done. You have to be SO careful how you move other wise it disturbs the relay compass and messes it all up. People don’t hate hard puzzles, they hate finicky puzzles, something hoyo is really bad at NOT doing. Inazuma is full of finicky puzzles, fontaine has difficult-ish puzzles without the annoying parts that make it difficult to move around it. genshin always being online??? Makes sense?? This is a BIZARRE comment. It’s a server side game? Like most games that can utilise multiplayer? Like most games that have… time-gated things? Just to explain, games that have time related things HAVE to be online to function properly, otherwise you could set your computer to the next day and endlessly farm commissions. Skip button? Yeah. It’s needed. The sumeru pari world quest would have been 10x more tolerable to get through if i could have skipped dialogue. I normally like world quests, i loved the melusine and aranara quests, but the pari quest was so unbearably boring. It was literally aranara quest 2. Nahida story quest 2 here we go again. Almost identical themes. And the most boring dialogue to boot. Im pretty sure ive heard that dehya is getting balance changes? Might just be hallucinating. Abyss floors are not needed more. For more primos? Sure, if you want them. I’d MUCH prefer they go the hsr route where they add more gimmicks to a new splitoff of the abyss. I’d love to see absurd buffs like, adding elemental paths. E.g. physical path that steadily buffs physical damage if you meet different criteria (going a certain amount of time not being hit buffs physical damage (shields being hit would count as being hit)) just as a way to test your skill but also buff your characters. They COULD make a one shot challenge, where enemies kill you in one shot, like the ‘raiden boss 1hp’ videos you see. Genshin doesn’t need harder content, it needs different content.

People don't mind difficult puzzles. It's the fact that you get the same reward as an extremely easy puzzle that people don't like. Would you rather do a 10 minute puzzle or a 10 second puzzle to get a common chest that gives 2 primogems?

Would be nice to get an alternative to Abyss (like Pure Fiction in HSR) as well as more optional Abyss floors. I mean the suigetsu pool puzzle is just actively bad, it’s a put the things in a place puzzle but just incredibly fiddly and really easy to accidentally reset and then have to deal with the fiddly stuff again. I assume zajef was wanting to refer to was the magic square like one, which is actively a good puzzle (just wish it was easier to progress to the next stage of)

Let me cook What i would really like Genshin to add are Dungeon-like Domains where the enemies are very tough, similarly to how they are in abyss, and you could also co-op. It would make the game feel more like and actual RPG. And they also could add more features related or not to combat (wacky buffs like in HSR's SU, puzzles, plataforming, etc.)

I think a big flaw of genshin coop is it splitting the available characters. So for the most part you are just 4 players doing what 1 player can do unless you have specific coop tactics like 3 onfield dps 1 buffer/healer. If the content were actually scaled for multiple players each using their whole team it would be a lot more appealing.

Another thing that might fall into a placebo change is simply adding more Reputation/Trust/TCG levels into the game. Like, the systems are already there, there's no real need to change them, they just need to add more levels. After all, reaching Reputation 10 doesn't take a long time, Trust rank from the teapot can still be increased as they keep adding more furniture and blueprints from other regions, and TCG keeps getting new cards and balancing changes but no incentive to pay attention for most who hate the game mode.

I'm not sure what he means by "content draught" to make you play other Hoyo games. Every time I log in there's a NEW FOMO event and I have to grind materials/artifacts for my new characters so I never get a chance to play the story, I'm still at the beginning of Sumeru because I don't have much free time for Genshin. I had to stop playing HI3rd because I wanted to play Star Rail. These games eat up wayyy to much time, it's nice I can log into Star rail and auto battle all my grinds and I can play past events in the archive because I was busy. I want to play ZZZ when it comes out but honestly they need to chill out on the events and FOMO, they need to run characters more often or triple/quadruple banner, and they need to reduce the monetary cost or improve the probability of getting characters/weapons. I've spent way to much money on Genshin and I don't feel like I ever really get to enjoy the game because it's ALWAYS sh*tting out new content. Also they absolutely ruined Dehya, I'm so mad I spent primos to get her and I'm livid I got 3 more cons from losing 50/50s, all for a character they intentionally ruined. God I hope China cracks down on Gacha games, the world will be better off.

Someone else already said it but inazuma puzzles are finnicky even when u know what to do. Also the electrogranum mechanic is inconsistent. HOWEVER even when its not a mechanic coding problem people still are complaining about the difficulty itself and i agree so much with zajef how its annoying how when we get actual puzzles the community complains about it being too hard. It also happens with the abyss and the previous combat events we used to get. We have intetesting abyss mechanics and combat events then the playerbase complains about the difficulty and it gets removed and we get fed these barebone mechanics and its annoying as hell. I hope to get another puzzle region like inazuma. Its the most fun region. Fontaine has some puzzles but they are so much simpler

The real tinfoil hat reason the storage situation is so bad is that most phones don't have room for any other big gacha games once Genshin is installed but this includes HSR so you'd think maybe now would be a good time to walk that back a bit

If you delete the voice lines for old quests, then the feature which lets you replay all of them in the archive would not be usable anymore. I feel the other way around, I'd like the archive to also include all the key cutscenes, instead of having to to go on youtube to fish for them If I want to replay them.
