Marketing 101. As frustrating as it may be... I was seriously contemplating buying a fitbit, but when trying to choose which one, I quickly realised something...every single video, comparison or review I watch keeps highlighting this precise issue. Each model seems to have some limitations, and instead of fixing them on the upgraded models, they'll fix something by removing something else. 'Upgraded' models seem to no longer have some features of previous models, while at the same time having unique, tempting features. Why not have them all? The answer is MONEY. By being stuck in an endless cycle of buying the next version in the hope it will fix some issue with the previous one. The problem is, without realising, you'd be buying a worse version with less features on some level...until the next version comes out, and so on, and so on... And who benefits from that? Certainly not you...

I recently had to see a cardiologist and he recommended that I invest in either an apple watch or a fitbit that could do the ekg/ecg to track afib. I currently own a Charge 4 but I am torn about spending more money for a Charge 5 or even moving up to a Sense2 to get the ecg tracking

I upgraded mine from a Versa 2 to a Fitbit charge 5 . I'm not disappointed yet on the charge 5 but there are some features you got too knock off to save battery 🔋 ie contact messages and not allow GPS it run in the background

I had Fitbit versa 2 for 5 years and I only needed to charge it like twice a week. But I tried to go in the pool with it and it doesn't turn on anymore. Anyways, it's a time for an update I think, it really served well for me, I was wearing it every day. RIP my friend, Fitbit really gained my trust in them during all those years. Thinking about the Apple watch now, but it's a hassle to charge it every day I assume.

I am really rocking the Inspire 3... There are more than enough features on it, and its thin like the Inspire 2, but unlike the Inspire 2, the I3 now sports a color AMOLED screen, and that's a big plus over the mono white I2 that I initially had my eyes on...

The Display of my charge 5 is broken so i bought the versa 4 but the wristband gave Up when i Played Volleyball. I have lost the watch 4 Times in 2 Trainings so i had so send it Back 🤷 now i will wait for the Charge 6 and pray that they will Release it to the German Market this year.

Great helpful video with good information. But don't know why Google removed so many key features like google assistant and music control and offline playback. I kinda understand they are saving it for the the pixel watch but pixel watch is flawed and lacking in many ways as you pointed out. It is a nice start but clunky, pathetic battery life and missing some key pros from their other fitbit devices. Guess I will have to keep waiting for either pixel watch 2 or for fitbit to allow for the ability to use more than one device that is tied to the main account.(i.e use charge 5 for workouts and sleep but pixel watch during the day. )

I'm very happy with my Sense 2. I had the Pixel Watch but unfortunately daily charging isn't an option for me. So now the Sense 2. The fact that no 3rd party apps work there is no problem for me. Inspire 3 would have been good too, but the small display wasn't for me.

I would hold on just a little longer as google announces all their new devices on the 4th October. So the price of the current Fitbits will come down if there are new releases.

Stay away from Charge 5. Screen freeze (no home button) and constantly looses connection. Boxed it and went back to Charge 4. At least it's reliable. I have Versa 4 also, nice watch.

I've never owned a fitness tracker and wanted to ask about the Charge 5's heart rate notification. Does it notify you immediately when the heart rate is too high/low? Or does it notify you after the fact? I'm trying to look for something that can notify me of my low heart rate. So I have time to sit/lie down before it continues dropping too low and I pass out.

I'm consistently just confused the last two weeks of research. Going between Garmin, FitBit Versa 2 and Apple Watch SE - I'm really needing something that tracks my sleep well, resting heart rate, heart rate overall, and tracks my workouts well as well as my daily walks and runs. I don't want a smart watch, I want the FitBit. But my fitbit luxe doesn't do all the things anymore. I also want to be able to leave my phone at home if needed... so I'm just overall leaning towards Fitbit Versa 2 or 3, bc the price also speaks to me. Any suggestions?

I prefer the look of the Charge 5. I have a FitBit Charge 2 that I got at a local thrift shop for $15. It works perfectly !!! Bit now it’s time for me to upgrade and I want to donate my Charge 2 to someone that can really use it.

I just got a Charge 5 to replace my malfunctioning Charge 3(dim streaky display after 3 years). I miss the floor tracking that charge 5 doesn’t have. But other than that, it’s a good unit.

I have an apple watch !! I wanted to try the fitbit charge 5 just for the readiness score & stress management, the only setback i have is that after doing my research, i find the heart sensor to be inaccurate and on their own forums people are always complaining of missing steps, or sleep cycles that fitbit can not read or interpret !! What’s your opinion about this issue ? What do you think ?

Is not as accurate as the Apple watch but I've had no issues with it in the past. As it's always tracked my workouts correctly. I couldn't comment on the sleep data as I've not really monitored that feature on it over a long period but I will keep an eye on it in the future as currently using the pixel watch

I've used the charge 5 for over a year. its the least durable watch i've ever owned. lasts about 2 to 3 months before screen stops working. I just got the sense 2 and I am testing to see how well it works

Have a Charge 5 and most annoying feature is "tapping' it constantly to access any features - including just the time. I like Fitbit otherwise - this is my 3rd one. Looking at Luxe but cant seem to find out if it has the "tapping" feature as well?

Even though the Charge 5 was available I went with the Charge 4 as the 5 no longer has Floors climbed. Sometimes the 4 will not swipe and let me choose my exercise and I have to keep playing with it til it does.

For swimming there are some features that will turn off such as heart rate, floors tracking and GPS. Your swim will track the duration of your swim and the number of the pool lengths you complete and will use the built in accelerometer.

Im really struggling to find the right upgrade to my versa 2. I dont know how many videos ive watched. You do a great job btw. I wanted to add gps and keep the good battery life, music and sport options (surf, weight workouts some running and swimming). The versa 2 lets me control youtube music with my phone and spotify without. (I dont have mp3 songs to upload as those days of owning mp3 songs are gone). I also use barcode apps and a couple of others. Maps would be a nice to have. It seems like the first option would be bzetter to upgrade to just the versa 3 for now. Second option move to Garmin and go for the venu 2s. The newer versa and senses are just a downgrade! And other Garmins (like the 7s) are too big. Third, wait to see what google does next year with the pixel (but I doubt it will ever be in the space.of the.multi day battery, just like the Galaxy watch), or whether Garmin comes out with venu 3. I also have only been on the fitbit app. Not sure whether Garmin connect will be as user friendly or the data explained vs just displayed. It used to be way easier to choose! Do you have any thoughts? Cheers

This year's upgrades have been a step backwards with Fitbit for some reason. If you want to stay with Fitbit because app then I would wait for next year's version to see what they bring. The new versa 4 has lost some features but it's still an improvement over the versa 2 as the software is a lot better. Otherwise you can't go wrong with a Garmin and if you have an iPhone the Apple watch se is a great fitness tracker as an alternative. I regret buying my pixel watch, it looks good but the sense 2 does so much more.

@@STAGFITNESS Thank you for your prompt reply :) I have a samsung phone. I sometimes exercise with it, sometimes without. I did have hopes for the pixel watch too. Do you think the move from Fitbit to Garmin would be a good idea? Otherwise Im happy to wait and see what fitbit does next year. The versa 3 looks better than the senses but it seems funny to upgrade to something 2 years old. I even looked at the charge 5 for that reason. I had high hopes for the new fitbits under google. But I think we have seen the best of these devices sadly, otherwise I would have progressed down the versa line, but looking for alternatives as it is Cheers

Fitbit inspire 3 is waterproof up to 164 feet and a great budget option or the charge 5 is another great option. Around the 200 mark you will get more smart watch options and there's a lot that will do what you need. Fitbit normally announce their new devices near the end of the year if you are not in a rush and there are always big saving a higher priced trackers at black Friday in November. Which is when I normally upgrade.

Yes it will still be a good option, just with the versa 4 it lacks third party support. So if it's just for fitness tracking then yes. Just bare in mind we're coming to that time of year where Fitbit/apple announce their new devices so it might be worth waiting a little longer. Plus you will find some great offers on these devices when the new versions release.

@@STAGFITNESS I do just want it for the fitness tracking. I'm 20.5st and I'm about to start my weight training journey to try drop to 17st and turn all this fat into muscle. The phone calls and text messages aren't important to me. I'll take your advice and hold off to wait and see what comes next though.

I would go with the charge 5 or sense 2 at the moment. If you don't need the extra sensors of the sense 2 then the versa will save you some money.

my wife bought a inspire 3 for my birthday ,i am extremely disappointed ,i walk over 3 miles a day on the treadmill and my fit bit gives me very little credit on steps,and i take it off at night and it sits on my night stand and it says i burned 500 calories ,it is a joke

I have the verse 3 watch. I noticed how some people saying they're getting 2 days or 3 days on the watch I get. If I push it I'll get 2 days and if I'm lucky but normally I get like a day today and a half. Why is that?. And that's if I let it run all the way out now and that's what I mean as it dies. If I let it die out every single time I can get 2 days on my battery and I noticed you were talking on about the verse 3 and the verse 2 that you can get. Like I don't know what you said. Maybe 4 days on it. 5 days. I'm only getting 2 days

taking the always on option will make a big difference, but recently I've been hearing a lot of feedback with people having battery issues

I have had 3 Fitbit Versa 2 and they only last about one year. I was fortunate that one died a little before and was able to have a replacement. Of course it was refurbished and lasted a little over one year. After trying to understand someone from Fitbit who had a strong accent from I have no idea where I am going to try to give up on smart watches completely. I so wish I could speak to someone with an American or Canadian accent. Fitbit should really hire at least some people with Canadian or American dialect.

My charge 5 stopped swiping left or right only scrolls up and down Ive tried restarting under settings and with charger but no luck Ive also tried changing the clock face several times Any ideas on how to try and correct this fault??

Not sure why you thought the PixelWatch would be the ultimate Fitbit. We already knew the PixelWatch would be primarily a Smartwatch using WearOS. Like the Apple Watch OS, you barely get 1day of battery, so in that respect is more or less the same as its competition. They'll need to increase the size of the watch to get to 2-3 days like the Apple Watch Ultra. As for the Versa4 and Sense 2, I'm kinda happy they removed the third-party apps. I've previously owned Fitbits (Ionic, Versa2), and both had serious connectivity issues when I downloaded any external apps. The Versa4, on the other side, is fluid with no syncing issues. Also, Google Wallet and Maps have been added (Dec 22), so I don't miss much. The option to download music may be good, but other than that, the watch looks really high-end and finally performs as it should.

Was happy with my Charge 5 for nearly 18 months when the battery decided to go dead in two days vs. the previous six days life on a full charge. Fitbit was happy to offer me a 50% discount if I would buy a new tracker from them. Of course their offer excluded the now Charge 6 which is what I would've purchased. Would buy one of their smart watches if they had local music capability - I won't pay a monthly fee to have music on my smart watch. I guess it is time to take a serious look at the competition.

I just returned my charge 5 after about 5 days of use, absolutely useless, never read heart rate consistently and in 5 nights, it tracked my sleep once. After reading online i round llts of ppl have the same issue, it just seems like a poor model all round. Alot of people going bsck to the 3 or 4 which they say work better still. Charge 5 just seems like a bad model all round.

Here is my take: -Charge 4 if you want a fitness tracker with the most smartwatch features -Charge 5 is you want a fitness tracker with the most health features (my favorite because I want the health features on my watch and leave my phone to do the smart features) Inspire 3: If you want a fitness tracker that is cheaper and the most basic (but has a few nice extra features like notifications) -Sense 2: If you want the charge 5 but with more data shown on your watch (with the bigger display) plus some extra smart features -The Fitbit watches I didn’t mention aren’t worth it unless they are at a discount because other watches can do things better. Also just get the Sense 2 over the Versa 4 because it has way more health features. Get an Apple Watch SE if you want a true smart watch at a low price (not the Versa 4)

It's due to the sweat and bacteria. I used to get that just clean his wrist and watch with some peroxide and alcohol.

@@vgardner1688 also putting Vaseline on the wrist where the strap sits works plus alternate the watch on the other wrist at night, this gives your main wrist time to heal
