There are many radio or control protocols for FPV. Among the most popular are FrSky, Crossfire and the recently introduced Express LRS.
This video is about what each one means for someone starting in the hobby, with the idea to help choosing what protocol to chose for your FPV drones.

Crossfire receivers and transmitters can be found at: nordfpv.com/search?q=crossfire

I remember those days with FrSky and the massive hassle of using that platform and their receivers. I'll never buy another FrSky transmitter as a result of that experience. They proved that they're willing to massively inconvenience their customers to protect their business. No thanks. I just replaced my FrSky X-Lite (with Crossfire nanoTX) with a Radiomaster Boxer Max with ELRS and I'll be moving my Crossfire module over.

@@FireChicken747 I'll say like this. I like the form factor of the TX16S. I like the size, and I like the potential to customise. You can see the video I did on customising the TX16S to understand what I'm saying. But both the TX12, and Zorro are great. I think it will depend on what kind of form factor you like the most. The only point where I think the Zorro loses is battery time. It's just around 1.5 hrs with an external module working att full power.

Also ELRS has the lowest latency and the most stable looptime on the market right now. Pretty amazing for an open source project. But only on BF 4.3 and EdgeTX ELRS's full potential can be unleashed. You won't get the full experience on BF 4.2 and OpenTX

@@ooOoo..... OpenTX only reads the stick sensors at 250Hz max. so you can't run ELRS at 500Hz with ultra low latency. In BF 4.3 the whole RC code got overhauled and also support for 11 and 12 bit RC signals got introduced (which means 2048/4096 RC steps instead of 1024 steps. I've only started to build a drone fleet after "graduating" from DJI consumer drones. Don't get me wrong, I still love my DJI drones, but I'm digging the FPV options and the community. I got some advice early on to opt for Crossfire, but now I think I'll start using ELRS for all my new projects. I have the Tango 2 controller but have been thinking that I want a bigger controller with the unique ergonomic needs of my hands. Now that you can get the Radiomaster TX 16S with built-in ELRS, it makes sense for me to invest. I do wish that controller had built-in Crossfire so I didn't have to figure out how to add and use the adapter on the back. Does that adapter even work as good as my Tango 2 or should I just keep using that controller with those quads? Anyway, this video was super helpful in helping me to understand exactly where ELRS lives in the history of FPV, so thanks for that!
@NordFPV

To add an external module is just to connect it in the back. Then the configuration is exactly as an internal module just selecting external. Very easy. Take a TX16S ELRS and add the crossfire external module and you’ll have the best combination.

@NordFPV
@NordFPV 2 жыл бұрын
Hey, I don't have experience myself with this drone, but doing some online research I found out you can use a multiprotocol radio like the TX16S and chose a protocol named MJXq, subprotocol E010. To bind, you have to power up the quadcopter first always. Once you see the LED is blinking, it means it’s in bind mode and looking for TX. You can now power up the TX, it will send out a bind signal at the beginning, and the LED on the quad should go solid which means they are bound. I hope this helps! And please consider to subscribe to my channel.
