This is like comparing Dr. Suess to Huckleberry Finn. One is made for only children and the other it a master work in literature and adventure. There really is no comparing LOTR to HP with any credibility. Even the box office number are skewed. At least 1/3 of the people who went to watch HP were parents taking their kids.

The Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter are two of the most popular fantasy book series in the world, and both have been adapted into successful movie franchises. While they share some similarities, such as their epic storylines and rich world-building, there are also significant differences between the two series. One of the key differences between the two series is their tone. The Lord of the Rings is a much darker and more serious story, with themes of war, loss, and sacrifice. The characters are complex and flawed, and the story is often bleak and grim. In contrast, Harry Potter is a more light-hearted and whimsical story, with themes of friendship, loyalty, and bravery. The characters are often more straightforward and simpler, and the story is generally more optimistic and upbeat. Another difference between the two series is their world-building. The Lord of the Rings is set in a vast and complex world, with multiple races, cultures, and languages. The story is heavily influenced by Norse and Celtic mythology, and the world is filled with rich history and lore. Harry Potter, on the other hand, is set in a more familiar and recognizable world, albeit one with magic and fantastical creatures. While there is certainly world-building in Harry Potter, it is generally less complex and more focused on the characters and their relationships. The themes of the two series also differ significantly. The Lord of the Rings is a story about the struggle between good and evil, and the lengths that people will go to protect what they love. It is a story about sacrifice and heroism, and the power of friendship and loyalty. Harry Potter, on the other hand, is a story about the importance of love and family, and the struggle against prejudice and intolerance. It is a story about the power of education and knowledge, and the importance of standing up for what is right. Finally, the two series also differ in terms of their cultural impact. The Lord of the Rings is widely considered to be one of the greatest works of literature of the 20th century, and has had a profound impact on the fantasy genre. It has inspired countless imitators and has been adapted into movies, video games, and other media. Harry Potter, on the other hand, is a more recent phenomenon, but has had a similar impact on popular culture. It has spawned a massive fandom, and has been adapted into movies, theme parks, and other merchandise. In conclusion, while both The Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter are beloved fantasy series with massive fandoms, they are quite different in terms of their tone, world-building, themes, and cultural impact. The Lord of the Rings is a darker and more complex story with a rich mythology and themes of sacrifice and heroism, while Harry Potter is a more light-hearted and character-focused story with themes of love and friendship. Both are great stories in their own right, and have had a significant impact on popular culture

Vecna: I have supernatural powers and I want to take over a town. Davy Jones: I'm the most feared sea monster in a very big sea and I have a very amazing ghost ship. Lord Voldemort: I'm the most feared and powerful dark wizard in the entire wizarding community, I'm a cult leader and I also became immortal for a little while. The Night King: I have an endless army of the dead and I almost froze all the kingdoms. Sauron: I'm an angelic entity, I'm the most trusted and powerful servant of Morgoth, I was born immortal, I have a bigger army, my name is more feared and I took over the world twice. Emperor Palpatine: I'm a space dark lord who took over a galaxy and I have Darth Vader as my puppet. Thanos: I'm a gigantic alien titan from deep space and I'm the only one in the entire universe who can properly wield, control and survive the cosmic powers of all six infinity stones, I crushed all of the avengers including some gods with just my bare hands and I erased half of the universe with just a snap of my fingers.

In a battle in would come down to Sauron, Thanos, and Palpatine. Palpatine would then take down Sauron and steal the ring, empowering him even more while making him even more violent and greedy. While Thanos tries his best using the stones, it’s not enough. With only one thing left to do, Thanos uses all six stones and snaps. Palpatine slowly fades away, but the ring remains. Thanos is tempted, and cannot hold back. He picks up the ring and slips it on, disappearing into darkness. It is said that Thanos became insane and primal. An ominous, tall, slender purple man with a burned gauntlet was often seen throughout the universe. It became a campfire story, a legend. No one ever really knew what became of Thanos, as he disappeared from all knowledge one day. The myth of a horrific purple creature lurking the universe slowly was forgotten. The Mad Titan was gone.

LOTR is far more iconic, especially when were talking about the movies. Once again, if we're only talking about the movies and leave the books aside, they had a far bigger impact on culture and especially the film industry. LOTR changed the way many blockbusters would be made from then on in terms of VFX, cinematography, score, iconography, etc. I can't even count all the times a movie had to end with a big epic fantasy battle since ROTK left theatres. Harry Potter changed jack shit when it comes to that.

Thumbs down, JK supporting women's rights and accomplishments isn't being anti-trans or a bigot. I thought this was going to be a fun video, but I had to turn it off after that woke nonsense.

The Harry Potter Movies are much better than Lord of the Rings and Hobbit Trilogies. The Deathly Hallows Part 2 is way better than all three Lord of the Rings Films. Also the Harry Potter films did a lot better job adapting the source material than LOTR. The Harry Potter films are also a lot more rewatchable and entertaining than Lord of the Rings. Plus the merchandise of Harry Potter is better than the LOTR merchandise, I don't care about those statues.

Lord of the rings is too slow. Drawn out, boring. Theres action, but the pace of the movies are painfully slow. Harry potter doesnt have a single dull moment.

harry battles voldemort nearly 10 times before the series ends...in lotr there are 2-3 battles or encounters and all of them live up because of the buildup. Action without buildup is meaningless. Therefore, in lotr, the few limited battles mean a lot to the audience

Because Tolkien wasn’t writing a war book. He was writing a book about little people doing big things.
