Nice Brother, I appreciate the tips for grilling and searing..smoking foods. Congratulations on your new broil kings I was looking at your non infrared grill back in 2017 and decided to just stay charcoal because it was hotter and familiar. But I did get into PK grills which are aluminum smoker’s. They are known prominently in the steak community. Your broil king grill/ smoker is also well known in the steak ( chop house) community. You should do steak and Q contests. Because you have great tools and you have excellent communication skills.

There is a company called grill grates and they make grill toppers to control flare ups . Grill Grates users have won many steak championships. They have precut grill grates for your broil king (both) and all popular grill models. Gas and Charcoal. 🥩

Well very good demonstration! I would like to have seen the grate temperature of each grill. I observed the infrared grill exhibits more even heat as opposed to the gas grill.I have found in my own testing, infrared just turns out a more tender juicy product due to the elimination of the very drying effects of the convective hot air !! As I see it,convective hot air is not our friend when it comes to grilling.This is why I'm inclined to believe infrared is the wave of the future and most high end steak houses use infrared broilers for good reason,a better product.The difference between infrared and convective hot air grilling is about 32% in favor of infrared.I have a Weber 340LX 3 burner and use grillgrates and since there is no convective hot air and no flare up,I get a much improved result although your infrared is the real deal. I would not in the future purchase a Weber again,definitely my next purchase will be infrared.It's time to eliminate the very drying effects of convective hot air.We do not need it.The beauty of infrared grilling is the even heating you just demonstrated.Note most Webers produce very uneven heating hotter in the back cooler in the front.Keep up the good work along with your unbiased reporting and if you can post your grate temperature.

I purchased my PGS grill in the 90's, it has an all cast aluminum shell, all the inside racks diffusers etc are 304 American Stainless Steel, it still is in operation today. The only thing about aluminum you need to keep a BBQ cover on it, the dust will be make the aluminum oxides. So this grill will pass the test of time. Buy once and cry or keep buying the cheap BBQ at the big box stores every 4 years.

Hey man, how do you like the tec grill? Im looking at getting one, coming from a Saber infrared grill that i loved so much. The no flareups and fast cooking is just too good, plus the flavor you get from the drippings getting back onto the food. I reallly wanna stick with infrared. @davidjackson4112

Congratulations on your new toys, I meant BBQ equipment, it musta made your heart sing when the local store gave you a package deal, or you just waited him out all those years knowing he would have to succumb. My only negative to gas grills are "parts" having to be replaced, that's why I drifted towards coal related grills. They sure are nice though, and they look like they'll save you time for a cook here and there. My favorite was the infra-red, thanks
@bbqsouthernstyle

LOL yes patience is a virtue in my book as far a parts go now days, they make it so easy to replace and KZfaq has got your back on how to replace parts, don't let it stop you from your grill game pellet grills are lots harder to repair. Thank you and thank you for watching.

I've never cooked with infrared before. Great video as usual! I am curious what you think....seemed like the the infrared grill was a little more forgiving as far as the first cooks went. In my experience any gas grill I have had always took a few cooks to break in and it seemed like the infrared was easier to get great results right outta tha box. Love your content and your laid back style my brother!

Hi Mr.Pitmaster, I don't like gas grills,because I was told they dry your meat out. But you prove that wrong. Which I have tried a regular grill before and it did dry my meat out. But you made the infrare grill food look so good and you said it tasted better. But I do have to admit the steak on the regular grill does look better.

The flare-ups..would have been even more pronounced..had you not had those grates inverted..those grooves caught some of the grease..left some good grill marks on the patties to me..that sausage ...steaks and chops also.." both ovens ...did well in my opinion.." comes fown to personal preference"!!

This was good comparison. One, you are a true coal and wood user. And to see that you really wanted to see just what it would be like on a big gas grill. I cook with gas in my house on the gas stove. And when I am in the yard with the few grills that I have, it's a combo of hard wood coals and just coals. I know my fire, and how to use it. That is the way I was taught from my Dad, and Grandad, and Uncles. I have never used or wanted to use gas out in the yard, On my big home built Brick grill. I can do an entire meal outside and not use the house oven at all. I just don't believe anyone can get that outdoor flavor of real coals and wood, on a gas grill. And Yeh. Lost of friends who will argue this point. LOL and I love the way we all try and out do one another. LOL The wives all think we are nuts. Thank you so much. This was an awesome video. 👍✌

My wife brought me a big shiny gas grill for Father’s Day some years back. She said she got it because it was pretty and it was on sale.🤭 It does come in handy. I mainly use it like a regular stove…cooking side dishes, sauces, grilling vegetables, and toasting buns. This keeps from heating the house up on the hot summer days we have down South. It also comes in handy if a hurricane or storm comes through and we’re without power for a time because I don’t have gas in the house.

Since Hybrids are really popular trend today, I would want to have a half Infrared and half gas grill, and or a rear infrared with a rotisserie. I think with both infrared burners on and the lid closed it would simply get to hot in that grill and you can loose some eyebrows and arm hair with it.
