In the process of an acquisition and have struggled deciding which direction to go (i.e. "closed source" or "open source"). The capabilities of Medit are definitely making it more attractive day by day. Appreciated the insights from you and your guest

Great topic, needs a part 2,3,4 etc with different people to hear different experiences! Everyone will have their biases as you are fairly committed to a scanner/system once making the investment. Very relevant to modern dentistry and important when making such a big investment.

I’m thinking of buying medit i700, is there any way I can contact you in case I’ve any issues during scanning? Or is there anyone who takes such lectures and hands on in the country of India ?

Ideally you should seek guidance from someone using Medit daily - I am using iTero at the moment. Whoever you buy the scanner from should ideally provide you with support - this is an important buying factor

Dr actually medit i700 is not worth. First ask yourself why you need a scanner and why should I choose medit? Because trios 3or4 is far better than medit and i tero

@@josephmathew4695 thank you for the reply doctor. After through research we got a Medit i600. I got a good deal and I did actually ask myself why I need a scanner. And I’m also extremely satisfied with the support we are getting from Medit in India. But yes I do agree with you doc about Trios being a superior scanner overall. But for the deal we got the i600 for, I think it’s completely worth it.

I switched from Trios 3 to Medit i700, and for me, I only see benefits! Even the Medit DCM to STL converter is a huge help to import some old scans from the Trios. The i700 is fast, accurate, affordable and improves with every update. And it has a connection to my 3D software OnyxCeph (one click transfer of patient name and automatic import of the scan). But Trios makes also very good scanners, but for 8 years of license cost, you can buy a new Medit scanner with new laptop!
