So...just a follow up on my last comment. I received some Amazon gift cards for my birthday, "free money", so I bought the Typhur Sync probes. I absolutely love them. So handy. I reach for them before my wired Thermoworks probes 90% of the time. We'll see how the lift span thing goes, but highly recommend. Thanks for the review!

dos the typhur have both high AND low (downward) alarms on the meat part of the probe? or just final target? the meater does, via the alarm button. but brands like thermo-pro do not.

With the Typhur Sync base, can you view the ambient temperature? And can you set a low and high ambient temperature benchmark? I don’t have a pellet grill, I have an offset and that would be very helpful for me

With the base you can view the ambient temp but you cant set any benchmarks, you have to do that through the app.

I have the Typhur model, and yes you can switch to Celsius. I would guess that the meater does also.

Can you have more than 2 sensors linked in the Typhor app? Looks like it only supports 2 sensors, max. The Meater app supports 4 sensors. Is my understanding right?

I am not sure because I only have 2 sensors for the Typhur. I know the MEATER does support 4 because there block has 4.

I have 2 typhur syncs for a total of 4 probes and I can run all of them at the same time.

The same thing with the meater. I have two blocks and a couple single probes and they all can be run and connected on the app.

if you link the Meater through a separate device then view on your phone via email, can you adjust settings via you phone or do you have to go to the separate device to make adjustments?

You can only view the cook, adjustments need to be made from the separate device

After using the Typhur sync the built in wifi is such a great feature. Being able to just sync the base to wifi is awesome because the range becomes a non issue

The original Meater block has WiFi. Hopefully they’ll be releasing a block version of this one soon

@@Bigheadedwon I asked Meater support if they are planning to offer Mater 2 Plus Block, and they said "The MEATER Block will be getting a refresh in late 2024".

Too bad they only have a sale going on in the US for the typhur and not in the EU. Otherwise I would have gone for that but I have a discount for the meater..😅

What no one talks about is when the life of the rechargeable battery in the probe itself goes out, as all batteries do, they can't be replaced. You're left with a boat anchor. I guess I'm old, but having to buy new again in 5 to 7 years is unacceptable.
