Thanks for the video. I started on Go Collect and then found out some of their data on prices are incorrect or not up to date, which made me lose confidence in them. I haven't tried GPA yet, but I've seen you use it a lot in your videos, so I'll give it a try. For me personally, I like covrprice. Granted it is slow and sometimes you do have to look for the exact issue your looking for. But all that aside, it gives a lot of great information, easy to navigate and the graphics are second to none!

What a fantastic review. I hadn't got a clue on which portal to use until I watched your video. I'm a newbie and will start off with CovrPrice. My only concern is that I am in England and as a result, the figures may be different. Either way, I think it's a good place to start and I'd like to thank you very much for helping me navigate to a workable solution.

Great topic. Main problem is vast disparity at times between price analyses among the different sites. At least go-collect on the subscription will give you specific recent sales, but I’m not a fan of their new format. Covrprice does not seem to update enough. GPA is fine but sometimes finding even a common issue like Superman or Batman requires looking through about 100 titles. Perhaps I’m doing it wrong, but there must be a better way to have quicker access to a specific title. In the end, I use all three to try to estimate both value and trajectory. Thanks for this video. Great information!

Looks like gpanalysis is the clear winner here. I need that historical data to see where the book is trending. Also, they are probably running like a unix database, which is why it’s lightning fast and stable with no added fluff! Guess I’ll sign up for a subscription and try it out!

Great info. This is what I've been wondering about. Does anyone know if, on Go Collect after cataloging your books/collection on there, if there's some kind of option to print or download your list in some sort of spreadsheet data format? And, also, does is give you an overall value of everything that you've entered or does it just show the FMV for the individual entries? I've never seen (or could find) a screenshot of that aspect of their site -or any YT vid of someone showing this.

I use GPA for slab values and Covrprice for raw. I sometimes check CP for slabs if there hasn't been a recent sales data (like years) for a book. My only gripe with GPA is the lack of cover images and the search results. Sometimes it's hard to find which series is which if you are looking up potential graded value from a raw book. Search Thor and see what I mean lol. I like CP's search better, also has better variant information. If you only know your raw book as a 1:50 and not by the cover designation, you have a hard time finding if that book is Cover E, F or G (etc.) in GPA while searching if it's worth to slab it. GPA is the best overall, but still could be better.

Just watching your video right now. First off, LOVE your stuff! Keep it coming! But . . . quickly. I don't get the same delay on CovrPrice so it might be your location or provider. Second, CovrPrice is way faster with current data, and I really don't care what a comic sold for in 2002. It's not relevant to the market NOW. CovrPrice is best for current data . . . except I am new to the hobby, AND I do think Census data may be important and CovrPrice has none.
@ComicBookInvestments
@ComicBookInvestments 2 жыл бұрын
thats interesting about the speed, but you can see from my video what i'm dealing with in terms of speed. But its good to have old data for rare books, that is important. Yes for new stuff where it sells all the time its not needed

Go Collect The prices are definitely not even close to what they really sell for. You can definitely get more money than what they tell you the book is valued at. Anyway I sent you this question yesterday I am Bob in Connecticut I told you I don’t work because of comic books I was a bartender. I have a journey into mystery 83 6.0 creams to off-white pages. One dealer offered me either $25,000 or $9000 plus the first appearance of wonder woman it’s only .5 but it’s blue label. What would you do in this situation??? The good part is I only paid $300 for the Thor years ago when it was raw at the New York City comic con.🥳🥳🥳

One problem. (EBAY) Say that you are interested in an auction that has a "Make Offer" button or a seller sends you an offer at a lower price. Ebay will record that sale at whatever the original listing was. Example. A listing for Legend of Zelda #1 is listed for 200$ for Buy it Now, but also has a "Make Offer" button. After some haggling you get the price down to 160$. Ebay will record the sale @ $200. Now this is misleading because it doesn't represent the true sale of the book and inflates the price. Good for people who already have the book because the average value of the book goes up. But, bad for the people that want to get this at a decent price.

Yes, this drives me crazy. Seems criminal that eBay doesn't have to display the actual sales price. Most of the time the price displayed is much higher than the actual sale - although on the flip side often times those single bid auctions actually go for more than that opening bid.....

Definitely helpful for those books that don't have a lot of sales. But curious, what's the purpose of a 20 year old sales data point if you have a bunch of recent sales? Nice to see where it came from, but from a valuation standpoint and anything with recent sales the history is largely irrelevant.

All three are useless. Every time I’m buying a book and use the sites I go to eBay, heritage, then comic link to find the actual last sale. Then do the math myself. Because it takes days and sometimes weeks for sales to show up. Then at times there wrong.

CP is basically like their channel, it’s about what’s hot today. No one is looking at that site to provide anything than what’s selling at this minute. That raw book is a complete joke - what’s the grade of them? Who knows. GC is about finding some info about lots of books. Finding something is tough that you’d care about. GPA is useless because dealers won’t pay it and they won’t sell anything that’s not stone cold for that price. So what’s the use?

This is a valid point. No matter the intent of the video author, the moment you mention a book, or even say buy or hold a book, it will peak interest and some people will run to buy it. This buying (even if only a few purchases for a high priced book) can drastically influence the books FMV.
