Very brave video. Not many people will stand with their faces and say VDJ is better pointing out features. Theres huge money behind Recordbox and Serato printing their names on controllers. VDJ neglected marketing and the result for many years now is that they have better software that everyone is tought to be ashamed with.

See how happy he was showing us the virtual dj software. That pitch reset demo had me sold. That’s been my issues for the few months I’ve been using rekordbox. That having to change reset all my changes everytime I’m in there is whack…especially when your new…forgetting or not knowing that laptop 💻 button is up there to hear your music from its speakers 🔊 & not just your headphones drive me bonkers for days at a time

I feel your pain im just amazed that you could scroll through tricks ect so quick without freezing and your start up time ls quick compered to my minimum of 5 minutes im not saying vd don't mess up cos it does sometimes but with a lot more features than rekordbox im using (among other pioneer hard ware) pioneer rz ...Big up virtual dj keep it up

Vdj search engine is TOP NOTCH. For that i will never leave!

My issue with Rekordbox was the key display and streaming with Beatport. I had the DDJ1000 setup to show Camelot and beatport songs would still appear in the note style every time I started the app.

Good video, I prefer the way Vdj works especially the search function hence I'm staying with vdj regardless that Rekordbox is the club norm

You forgot the best thing about virtual dj. The browsing experience is a lot better than any other dj software. You can program quick filter buttons the way you like them, do smart colors, smart playlists and all that.

I have just started djing a few months now i have the numark beginning control i been using searto so i am use to that. im waiting on my dj 800 to be delivered but ive just been told i can't use searto with it thats pisssd me off as im use to searto.

I was using serato with my rev one and bow that they support vdj I switch also I pair it up with my ns7 sometimes and im remapping the rev crossfader as a bass crossfader

i just got a ddj-1000 and have been wondering if i should switch; tho the first half of your vid sounds like some sort of personal issue with your computer saving prefs the second half is crazy! idk if RB has those features now since this vidoes a couple years old but ill defly be sticking with vdj

My problem with rekordbox is that while a track is playing, it periodically stops for a second and then continues. Is frustrating and i plan to switch to VDJ.

And oddly enough I'm actually having issues iwith virtual DJ cross fader .. did you run into any issues with that on Virtual or if not any suggestions how I can get it to work on the controller.. much appricated...

Right on man!!! I’m glad I’m not alone. Regardless of what the industry says I don’t care, I’m loving VDJ, IT IS THE BEST. I don’t give a F about what they say, what it counts is my experience, which is the same you have, VDJ is awesome, it remembers everything, even cue points even though I remove the drive where the tracks are. Every thing is simple, intuitive and flawless. Not to mention it has countless features, therefore VDJ supports way more hardware than the others, that’s why I started with VDJ, because my first controller was so crappy almost a toy, and there it was VDJ supporting it, then when I got a Pioneer DDJ FLX4 I tried Rekordbox based on the reviews and couldn’t stand it, not to mention how insanely expensive it is. So, GO VDJ all the way.

Honest review I never used rekordbox but I used Serato Dj that's comes with my Denon Mcx8000 nothing but problems I was having so wen back to my virtual dj 12 years using virtual dj never have a problem yet with software it's a powerful software that's don't gets its props I will never change to a different dj software dirtual Dj is it love it.

How did you echo out using your keypads on the board.?

I hv been a vdj user from day1 and I got my ddj1000 last yr and been checking out RB over that span of time and it does come with a learning curve but I hvnt experienced it not remembering the crossfader settings at all. For 1 u had ur crossfader curve all the way to the max and the .3 cut is almost like a 0. I'm sure if u moved ur curve in to the 3oclock position it would've stayed there and given u the same results u wanted with adjustment u mad. Mine doesn't move from where I set it in both RB5 and rb6. Vinyl mode included, but the hiding of the jog view isnt a fixed setting for some reason. The library system in RB is a playlist system, like the crate system in serato. Rb just allows us to access our music folders in the browser menu, but as far as to get the search bar an d things like tracks with matching keys, that can only be done in a playlist- not the "folders" where u were. They are indirectly forcing u to create playlists like serato. The collection is the area that sees all imported music added to RB and there is a shortcut (cntrl+F) that jumps to the collection to allow the user to search the entire collection, no matter where u are in the program. Mapping buttons to other functions is also possible in RB, but some of it is hidden. For instance it was only 3 months ago I learned where to find the crossfader curve setting to be mapped in RB and prior to I looked for it over and over believing it didn't even exist. In vdj it was way easy to find and map. I would still choose RB over serato tho as it has way cooler features as phrasing tracks and my tag which helps in library management, but vdj is still my #1 program.

I do karaoke work Virtual DJ. Do the mic fx work with virtual dj running or do I have to use rekordbox? Gotta have access to reverb and echo for singers.

rekordbox has a learning curve one must achieve. clearly u didn't because you already had your ties with vdj. the first 2 0r 3 issues were connected to a single setting you didn't make (and had to make just once). Having said that, I am not a proponent of any single dj software - I love and own 3 different ones (djay, rkb, serato). sold my vdj key for cheap coz i didn't have use for it

The rekordbox software does set the preferences you choose permanently. All those preferences are set on my computer.

Strange I am currently run the free trail of Rekordbox 5.8.5 and 6.4.2 and it saves all my settings correctly when I close RB . Although I don't have the DDJ 1000 connected yet I will try that once it arrives to see if I get the same issue. I have always used Serato . Great video DJ 2Legit

Vdj User since 2016.... Rekordbox music library sucks -Analyze songs and upload time etc. More than ever it has crashed on me while performing at my gigs. Vdj only crash once while use my New DDJ 1000 about a week ago.. and it was while I'm adjusting my settings/Mapping.....Pioneer Controllers on the other hand A+

Rekordbox is only good when exporting music to USBs and play on CDJs. As a DJ software tool, not very reliable. VDJ is way better and VDJ is now allowing you to export your music to Rekordbox. Great for transitioning to USBs / CDJs.

Why aren't you using rekordbox 6? It may fix these issues. Did you know that you don't need any subscription to unlock rb6? The DDJ-1000 is a hardware unlock device. Just plug in the DDJ-1000 and it unlocks rb6 (no paid subscription needed).

Watch a few videos or something your everything you showed are user issues of course the setting stays the same 🤦🏽‍♂️ lol.
