In the past I always played like an Arabian lord since I was too lazy to build armoury and workshops.

I always preferred the Arabian Lord because you get extra Archers. If you play Crusader Mode the European starting troops are better though in my opinion. Knights and Swordsman are insane early on and also the European Lord gets style points for his Cape and badass Axe lol

I remember setting my identity to the Arabic Lord because Arabian archers cost 75 gold to produce so on normal/no handicap settings I'd be starting with an amount of archers worth 450 gold. I didn't know if they were better or worse, I just knew they were more expensive, and I liked getting expensive units for free.

Glad that there is someone who makes SC content. I was interested in chess in the beginning because of the medieval theme of the chess pieces and I like medieval kingdom theme games like SC. Just gonna say I love your channel and the stuff you make, I recently found SC in my files and now I'm playing it for like 24/7! The game is soooo addicting and it's nice to see someone who still makes content of a 20 y/o game. Oh and this makes me want to switch up my play style since I've been playing with the EU lord from the start lol

Wow, I had no idea videos are still being made about this game. My cousin and I used to play this when we were around 6-8 years old. We still play frequently to this day actually, 14 years later lol. Happy to see Crusader still has a following. Love the video btw

on crusade mode i take the europeanlord all day. You can immediately launch an attack on nearby enemies and if you let your lord go with the troops you can vanquish 1 or 2 foes right from start. accompany them with a few crossbowmen you buy from starting ressources and clear the path for the melee units so theyy only have to deal with the lord, you may be able to kill another 1 or 2 enemies already in early game, gaining their ressources so you dont fall bacl too far for middle and late game. if a lord, 15 swordsmen and 6 knights rush towards you, those extra archers aint gonna help

I agree that in normal mode arabian lord are better, but I want to add one thing for crusader's duel: moats!! If you put a duel between arab and european lord, eu lord will be able to setup moats using their archers while the arab cannot. This will be huge as you can defend yourself from any flanks or even block arab swordmans entirely. As long as you have spare archers, you can fill up the moat later. Of course this strategy is useless in a game where both of them can build up their economy first, but this strategy makes me think that on crusader mode and all in type situation, european is better

Dont forget early game moat digging power, on some of trail maps its really important Arabian lords get only few slaves... Sure they are cheap but you never get free peasant to make a lot of them

I prefer the European lord because of the spearmen. They are much more effective at taking down enemy buildings that they place on your stone/iron/grass. And also having European archers helps a lot with rushing a moat defence if you need it

Since i prefer Turtle strategy, i prefer Arabian lord for better defence in early stage...and by making two lookout towers attached to my keep help me in early defences , specially agains slave raids and early skirmishes...

Ive been thinking we should have a rule if youre an Arabian lord you can only use Arabian barracks. And if youre a crusader lord you use the basic troops only. Siege engines remain the same. Although there are no Arabian engineers? I usually use basic troops because crossbowmen are op so I'm a crusader lord. I'd play both just depends on how I feel.

With the ucp though...Well I made myself some balanced start troops so all Lords get 1500 or 7500 gold worth of troops in normal/crusader. Player I just picked for half an AIs start gold worth. Could even add Arabians to Europeans if I really wanted but yeah. Still limited it for lord type at least unless it's sheriff or snake.

and here I was picking the arabian lord simply because of his fancy hat, never knowing until now I made a good choice :)

what's the difference between stronghold crusader and stronghold crusader HD. because i have the same game but there is no HD writing after stronghold crusader name. and by the way i don't have more resolution option after 1080. is there any other version of crusader that can provide me more resolution? i have downloaded my game from ocean of games website and there was only this version.

i haven't played this game in years so correct me if i am wrong, dont european archers have longer range, i always preferred them as a kid because i thought they had longer range and looked cooler

It would awesome for Stronghold Crusader if we could only use European/Crusader units when we play as Crusader Lord and we can only use Arabian units when we play as Arabic Lord. And units between both sides must be well balanced 👍👍👍

I usually prefer crusader units but man, ya Arabian lord starts are way better. Defense is the most important thing in game and its not hard to buy some monks which blow both starting melee units out of the water in defense. The Arabian archers are so worth is.

Like Arabian lord He spawns with 3 Arabian archers in -2 deathmatch unless the crusader lord spawns with 2 archers only The Arabian lord can spawn with slaves which can dig more faster and it is faster than sprearmen spearmen actually useless furthermore can ruin the economy on your opponent so quick and the Arabian archer I think it is more better the the Regular archer in much more ways The crusader lord had an advantage with crusader match but still Arabian is the best

Of course man, the Arab Muslim lord is always the best With a free good start unit Arab Archers for suitable defense, some free slave for burning you're unprepared enemies or disband them for extra worker or extra manpower so you don't need waiting peasant for coming to your castle
