2020 turbo S in Miami FL, no issues since 35k, 70k miles now. I’ve never used the heater. update gave me a noticeable amount of range. Absolutely love this car. I’ve have OPW till 120k miles. Wife has 2019 etron edition one and she’s extremely happy with hers.

I have 87k miles on my 2020 4S, purchased new. Yes, lots of glitches for the first few years. Pretty stable now, took it on a 7600mile road trip with 0 issues. Still love the car.

AVOID ex lease Taycan's because if the previous owner hasn't followed Porsche warranty to the letter your battery warranty is less than 8 years. One Taycan for sale with a dealer shows a battery percentage of 97% and Porsche recommend not leaving the car at greater than 80%. Any Taycan that has been fast / rapid charged will have reduced range due to degredation caused by the rapid charging. Ask for a FULL battery health check before you buy the car. Porsche did say the battery modules can be replaced and the Taycan is designed to have its battery removed easily for repair. If you are buying a used Taycn just ask where it was last serviced and contact the dealer to ask if all recalls have been done and which heater is in the car or has it been replaced. If the car is out of warranty the heater might cost over £2000 to replace. If the battery fails on a used car and Porsche won't fix it under warranty your car is worthless as a brick.

Great video - I have a 2020 Taycan Turbo and it’s just turned 50k miles. Extended the warranty for 2 years and had it serviced through Porsche Silverstone and have had no issues.

I am grateful for your videos! I feel as if we are having a sit down and a meaningful conversation (albeit I know I'm not asking or answering). However your approach is always informative and above all, realistic. We have a CPO 2021 4S and it is amazing. It has been given all recall services, including a programming update and a recent new passenger compartment heater replacement. Did purchase the Porsche Extended warranty as well and believe it is a worthwhile investment. As you stated about the used market, we got a great deal! Thanks so much and keep up the good work. 2020 owner - yes to all of your points. The one thing that I am struggling with regularly though is squeaking at low speeds (10-15 mph) from the left back. Drives me nuts! It goes away after a few minutes of driving, but it really annoys me. Porsche has tried to address it twice, and each time it goes away for a while and then comes back. I have not really seen a lot of comments on this on the forums, except some suggestion that high performance breaks will squeak. Would love to find a solution for this one. Apart from that, mostly software gremlins and yes, of course the heater.

I'm in the market for a Porsche Approved Used Taycan - as a first time EV plus used car buyer, just have a few Qs if possible: 1. when you say make sure all the recall work has been done, is that a case of just asking the dealer if thats happened? How would I go about confirming this? 2. Your point about the battery is concerning - how do I check the condition of it? 3. Appreciate there's a 8yr warranty on the battery - would your general view/advice be to not keep a Taycan beyond that warranty given the cost of the battery? Your thoughts on these Qs would be most appreciated. Cheers!

What about the hardware for the PCM? In Tesla land newer model years got upgraded to faster processors so it ran better. Just wondering if there’s any reason down the road for Porsche to say “actually, 2020 models don’t have X, so don’t get the latest software”. I know you said the main hardware of the car is exactly the same, just wasn’t sure if you also meant the entertainment hardware as well. P.S. yeah the forums are full of “stay away from 2020, but they fixed everything in 2021!” :)

Just make sure you get the continues porsche approved warranty (if it got ever interrupted for whatever reasons, you will not get it later).

It is not just software. Battery cell sealants and moisture issues are fixed. Heater pumps, wiring issues, etc. A friend’s car has spent 7 months at Porsche for battery, heather and maintenance. These are proper hardware issues fixed in MY22 for example…

I think there are few options that were missing in the early 2020 models.

I've heard that the 2020 does not have Plug and Charge or remote lock/unlock.

After trying to live with a Taycan for a week I may keep my Model Y for a few years longer. I wasn't overly impressed with the car as something for a daily, especially for the cost difference. The tech in the Tesla has utterly spoiled me - as easy and convenient to use as a cellphone, whereas the Taycan is clunky. The Bose system is not great, the Tesla's is, the seats were uncomfortable, and the handling/steering joys are really at the extremes of driving, otherwise they're pretty similar in canyons (blasphemous I know, but drive them back to back, and tell me is it worth the 50k+ premium!). Obviously the Porsche is sexy, and feels more solid, but day to day it's a big compromise to make to own a Porsche. I may have to just get a 911 and get a true sport car 😂

Don't buy just lease, if you want buy a Porsche with loads of room, then you buy a petrol vehicle, they have three to choose from, and the depreciation is a lot less than the Taycan, and maybe you will actually make no loss, every vehicle has to be serviced once a year, even a Taycan has service costs, then the devaluation is the biggest cost, this is why if possible only on lease, they have to take it back after the contract is done, whereas if you buy, you will be lucky if you can trade it in.

I have 2021 been nothing but trouble 2 heaters air con packed in high voltage charger packed up breaks failed 3 times now and it’s lost 60k in 2 years . I would simply avoid them all

Bought a CPO 2021 about a month ago and heater broke on me. SA said newer version of part shouldn't have any issues: PAD-963-507-A. I'm more concerned about the 12V Lithium battery and if leaving the wall charger plugged in truly keeps that topped off or do I need a CTEK charger when I don't drive it for awhile.
