I keep picking up my topo cyclone 2 and Saucony Kinvara 14. Skechers razor plus and Reebok run fast pro 1 for speed days. Recovery shoe mach 5. Fun shoes speed 3 and rebel 3. Long runs and most daily runs in my xero speed Force. Keeps me injury free and aligned. ❤ Ruby. She's so sweet.

Thanks for the review of these two shoes. Although I used to wear Hoka, I have been a big fan of NB for quite a while now. Normally, I go with the lightest of two shoes when all things are equal, which, I believe is still the Rebel. In this case, I will stick with NB. I don't have a wide foot, but not super narrow either, so I am not concerned about the Rebel's fit and as I have the sister shoe that is carbon-plated, the SC Elite v.4(which I love), I think the fit will work. Looking forward to getting mine soon.

I have digressed in my running routine over the past couple years but still love the occasional run. I’ve been mostly using Atreyue and Puma Velocity 2.

I like the look of both of these shoes, specifically in the colorsways you have. Leaning towards the Hoka on looks but the Rebel by function. I’ll be looking to grab a pair of Rebel V4 at seasons end on sale. Hopefully get a blue pair. Thanks for your thoughts.

me and Hoka do not give... I stayed up till 1 am on launch night to order my New Balance Rebel V4s and I am glad I did, I find I can't take them off my feet!!

Hi Emily, thx for this comparison! I got 250k out of the Rebel V4 by now and just ordered the Mach6. I guess it is just because two years ago I ran in both at the same time and enjoyed both. BTw ordered the red , orange yellow version maybe the hot look makes it go as fast as the rebel.

For me? The Mach 6 was SO much more comfortable and about 10 miles into them and LOVE them.

i have yet to try the mach 6... but after trying a couple different hoka models, the mach 5 is my favorite so far.

have both,for speed reps and tempo I go mach for longer runs with easy or race pace i go with rebel.loooove my long runs with rebel

Thanks for the comparison review the narrow is a minus for hoka don't know if they offer wide haven't looked yet but on looks joka style in blue. And hi sweet ruby.

Thanks for the comparison review. I have the Rebel V4 on order. I have not tried the Rebel series in the past, but i am looking forward to this version. I will not purchase the Mach 6...I have the Mach 4, and it does not give much back when running plus I had to go a 1/2 size up because my regular size was too short...I tried on a pair of the Mach 6 recently, and it was short as well.

Currently using the puma deviate nitro 2 for daily miles. As this is heavily discounted I’m tempted to go again with this, as I can’t see how the 2024 daily trainer offerings are giving anything more.

I just don't know why but hoka & me are directly opposite. Never really enjoyed running in the clifton & bondi.... So it's undoubtedly rebel from new balance. 1080 v13 has been fabulous so I'm confident that rebel will not disappoint me...😂

Faster and the better looking shoe of course. The Rebel 😊. I have too many non plated daily trainers. If buy any Hoka it’ll be a plated one later this year.

Just ran in the Rebel for the first time this morning. Nice long run. Hokas are too narrow and low volume for me. Even the wide version of the Clifton 9 didn’t fit well.

I got the Mach 6 but it doesn’t help at all with my over pronation and the narrow toe box is really not good for trying to help stabilise my foot

Great video! I was thinking to get the Mach 6 for speed sessions and maybe race day in 5k/10k. Will that work? The Rebel V4 feels too soft for me especially on the heel for me but still a good shoe!

Rebel v4 feels great at every speed. Would love to try the Mach, but the tapered toe boxes are too uncomfortable for me!

Just curious, since you have a narrow foot does NB send you shoes to test in a AA width? If they sent you the Rebel V4 in a B width then the AA narrow width would probably fit you better. Love your videos. Keep up the good work. 😊

Hoka for me, but in wide fit. I have speed session shoes and will prefer the comfort of the Hokas for easy runs. I also prefer the look of the Hokas, but it's marginal and nothing to influence my decision.

I've heard from several that the foam in the Rebel V4 dies out at 100-125 miles. Similar to the Rincon back in the day.

Rebelv4 is crazy soft, the heel drop feels negative even landing mid foot strike.

Great video Emily, thanks for the tips. Question a little off topic. What race day shoe would you recommend WITHOUT ANY PLATE (carbon or nylon). I have been struggling with plated shoes lately and am thinking of giving non-plated a try. I am particularly looking for 10 mile and 1/2 marathon distances. Your insight would be greatly appreciated. P.S. I run around your pace.
