I would personally prefer subbed. Why? The voice actors were amazing in the Japanese version, and you could literally hear the pain in their voices when they screamed, or the happiness in their voices when they laughed (which unfortunately isn't happening too often now). They did such a great job, and in the dubbed version, it just doesn't sound right. I’m not saying the voice actors weren't good, but they just didn't fit in. So yes, I prefer subbed, but again, that's my personal opinion!

I definitely recommend sub! There are just so many iconic moments! Eren’s voice actor is so good, his laugh and scream!! and even how Mikasa calls “Eren” is alway so adorable to me!! Levi’s voice actor, the titans screams are so much better as well and much more. For me personally, I prefer to watch it in its original language. (That’s just my opinion 🙆🏻‍♀️) And I remember I was watching a reaction channel (they were watching it in dub), it was season two, and because I’m so invested in this story, I know the dialogue very well! I noticed that in the dub they made a huge mistake that changes a lot of things and it doesn’t even make any sense so I was so irritated.

Sub I feel is more impactful. I feel like you'll get the full AoT experience as a sub watcher. The VAs are phenomenal imo. Dub can sound very goofy at times as a native English speaker, but it's far from the worse dub I've hear.

yes please I highly recommend you to switch to sub because AOT is nothing with the dub. It takes away the essence for the show and it has many mistranslations as well. You are already reading subtitiles with dub as well (idk why ) so might as well switch to SUB and read subtitles there but then I would say PLEASE loose your notebooks or ipad whatever you use to write down notes because then you will miss everything..

Personally i prefer watching any show and anime in their own language bc it brings more depth to it and you feel their raw emotions more than dub, AoT japanese voice actors & actress for example are top tier so, sub always win for me.

Hm... How about lower video opacity/transparency and cut the corners or frame the thing. That way you can keep the video on the screen. Anyway. I personally like sub because it properly conveys the emotions of the characters.

Hi! I prefer watching in Sub. I have made a comment before but watching it in sub adds a whole another level to the anime. Especially with AOT. This is an anime that moves very quickly so its important to be watching at all times. Also the dubbed translations aren't always correct, so sometimes the full impact of what is being said is lost. That is just what I think and at the end of the day I will still be here! Do what you want, but thank you for hearing us out!

I normally watch sub as a personal preference but I understand your reasonings for Dub and I agree with your reasons, especially since you are new to Anime in general. Regardless of what you end up choosing, I will still watch because this show is worth watching in either preference.

I chose subs because I think any show is better in it's original language. Watching it with dub is pretty much recasting everyone with voice actors that just are not as good. The voice actors they choose for the original are usually better and probably have more direction. There is more feeling and it's more accurate. The dub (to me) sounds a bit cartoonish/corny- it reminds me of pokemon or naruto. lol. What I have seen some reactors do- keep the subs on the screen even if you cut the rest of the picture. It's like just the bottom of the screen is just always there. The subs are also at a lower transparency which I guess helps. Take less notes. I don't mind if you pause more if it will help. In the end, I love watching you guys so I am here either way but hopefully you go back and watch with subs sometime.

Please go with sub!! You can try checking out how others manage editing with subbed clips. Consider letting the cropped subtitles appear at the bottom whenever you make full cuts to address copyright concerns.

In my opinion when it comes to Anime the original language is just top tier. No matter how "good" eng dub is it will never outshine the japanese version in any anime. The eng dub may be good, but is it amazing? Does it make your skin crawl? Hell no. In your case you get goosebumps because you haven't listen to the japanese version. The japanese voice actors pour their heart and soul. And it is not even an exageration, there are videos of the japanese voice actors for AOT crying after saying certain lines and repeating certain scenes until they get it right. You can hear the emotions of the characters when they talk, when they laugh, when they scream!! I feel like in AOT the screams are really important and english voice actors don't put any emotion, they just scream. Also for me the voices in english don't match that well with the characters appearence and personality. The only one whose voice is closer to the original would be Levi, but still there is something missing. His voice in japanese has something unique that matches perfectly with his appearance and personality

It's hard to casually watch a reaction with subs. Requires a lot of focus. It might be fun to watch you trying to catch those small subtitles, but then I'm trying to read those myself to follow where your're looking... then the subs are even smaller on that tiny video inlay... Keep doing it the way you did!

I enjoy both 🤷🏼‍♀️ I prefer sub and my husband prefers dub because he can’t watch the subtitles and enjoy the action at the same time. So I get it both ways. Voice acting is great for both too honestly.

It will be so confusing for you guys to watch it so suddenly in sub when you watched a full season in dub, it’s an adjustment to make and while it may bring up your viewership I still don’t know which one is best. People need to take into consideration that you are a reaction channel you are not just watching in your living room alone, you have to provide a content too, so there’s the question of will you still be able to catch everything? And we all know that people are never happy if you miss some important stuff they are gonna be mad. So while making your choice take yourselves into consideration too. But either way I’m gonna support!

I definitely prefer subbed myself. But I understand the choice to do dubbed for ease of recording and notes etc. I say do whichever you prefer. I did notice a few lines in english translation had completely changed to meaning of what was said, so maybe it would be worth switching to the original Japanese.

I know yall are very good with picking up hints and some aspects of that will be lost if more time is spent reading subtitles that enjoying the action on scene. But either is fine by me! 🤷🏽‍♀️

Sub for Attack on Titan. Dub for Naruto. I've seen both in both languages and this is my recommendation.

I like to watch heavy detailed showes in dub for exaple steins gate because I'm bad at catching details, and heavy plot points. When I tried watching steins gate in sub there where lots of japanese references I did not understand so I switched to dub. Which ever you choose is your chose.

I personally like watching it with subs. I feel like the emotion is so much more visceral. However, while watching reactors, I can totally understand the dubs! Especially if you're taking notes or talking about a scene. Personally, I am good with either! Whatever works best for you guys. I just enjoy the reactions, and I like that you take notes. (Sometimes, after the show, I forget what I want to say! Lol. Especially if I'm really getting into it. So I think the notes are good.)

With the source *you're* using that has subtitles based on the english dub, I prefer dub. With my hearing I use subtitles when ever possible. Sadly, most subtitles are based on the original Japanese so, if I listen to the dub, the subs aren't even close to matching. I'm quite comfortable with either. So are as what *you're* doing, since most reactors use sub, you using dub is a pleasant change of pace. BTW, I've never seen a sub vs dub poll result in anything but a one-sided sub victory.

Watch it however you want. That’s the most important thing. A genuine and enthusiastic reaction. When being forced to watch it one way or the other you might lose that a little bit. You guys have also commented on the good English voice acting, and the dub gets even better. You really can’t go wrong either way, just pick whatever you guys will enjoy more. I recommend sticking with the dub, since it can be jarring when switching partway through a series.

Dammit. I only started watching this channel cause they were reacting in dub. You guys are great reactors, and very few reactors do dubbed anime. I was happy that I found you guys. But knowing how anime fans on the internet are, l’m almost certain subbed will win. Anime dub fans can’t have shit.

I prefer sub, but to be honest, but if you are comfortable with dub, stick with it. Your enjoyment should come first before anybody's opinion tbh. Personally I've watched a few animes before so I'm used to watching in the original Japanese language. I also wanna appreciate the anime in its entirety. That includes the fact that the Japanese voice actors were chosen by the studio that made the particular anime. I've also come to appreciate how skillful Japanese voice actors are, considering anime is a huge industry in Japan (thus voice actors in the anime scene being very skilled). There's also pros and cons of subtitles. The pros are we are hearing the characters in their intended voices, but the downside is the quality of the sub depends on which platform you are viewing the anime on. Some subtitles can give off really bad translations, and not all subtitles are able to fully translate what was spoken in Japanese (to be fair, dub also isn't able to translate exactly everything that was intended to be said in Japanese). Some people might also have a hard time keeping up with reading the subtitles while the show is playing. So in the end, it really goes back to your enjoyment of the material you are watching.

I think i suggest you to watch in SUB and after that you can rematch it in DUB for your convenience. The SUB version is better because first, the VOICE ACTING! OMG, Daniel let me tell you, i am a subscriber from your CCW channel. I just cannot describe you how happy i was when you started to watch AOT because it is my Favorite show of all time. Not anime. The greatest show in all of the media. but when i got to know that you're watching in DUB, ngl i was a little disappointed because i watched it in SUB and i can tell you from your reaction that I had a totally different experience than what you guys are having. Of course Japanese is a foreign language for you, and you don't understand the words but I think emotions convey better than words. YOU WILL LITERALLY FEEL THE TENSION. THE DUB IS JUST NOT IT! Secondly, Because of the translation in DUB, the characters are greatly affected. Not a spoiler but the SUB Mikasa is a different person from the DUB Mikasa. The dialogue what they are saying may not be what they actually mean. and there is the cultural references of honorifics they use in the SUB version for the veteran soldiers like Levi and Hange. basically, a lot of things get lost in the DUB. the DUB version does not have THE AOT FLAVOR. [ At first it may be hard to adapt to read and comprehend simultaneously but you can always pause and rewind. you can pause to write notes because to experience it fully you have to pay attention to every dialogue and every detail. Every thing happens for a reason in this show.]

To be honest the dub is good one one the best for a anime in my opinion the only thing that bad with dub is the titan scream but you get used to it but dub is good for your style

I personally prefer sub especially with AOT but If you're not comfortable with watching sub I think you should rewatch the first two episodes and you will definitely feel huge difference

I prefer sub because it has so many iconic scenes and i felt like the dub couldn't give the raw emotion that was given in the sub but it's your choice, if you feel like you could follow dub better then continue doing dub. Besides if you guys do decide on sub , you can always pause and rewatch the scenes you missed

i prefer subbed for personal viewing and initially felt a little frustrated at how much emotions from the japanese voice actors y'all are missing by watching the dubbed version. THAT SAID, i'm warming up to the dubbed version since it's a reaction video, it makes it easier to follow when the video isn't on the screen (same for your shogun reactions since so much of that show is subtitled!). seriously though, just do which ever ones you prefer! Or try watching a couple episodes in subbed and see how y'all feel~

Sub. The voice acting in anime is so much better than dub.

Dub is fine, but the audiance will have a very strong attachment to the sub. We have literal trauma at hearing phrases from this show that we don't even know the direct translations but we remember it.... This main reason why you will get less views, it doesn't hit us the same as you are watching the dub. The sub carries weight and our nostalgia about the show is attached to the subs not dub.

PLEASE watch it in English dubbed its the best cos I cannot watch things in other languages because I am not a strong reader, so I am constantly having to pause every time there is another language being spoken, so I can read the subtitles. constantly pausing an unpausing pulls me out of what I'm trying to watch, I have always watched anime in dub and I'm loving that you watching it in dubbed because then I can follow along. if you where to switch then i can not continue to watch cos i wont know what is going on and i wont be enjoying it anymore.

Look, no offence to English VAs, but Japanese VAs are SUPERIOR. Period. AOT is not AOT without its OG VAs. But again, you do you. If you're worrying about the spectators, most of us have seen the show and come here just for your reactions. So we already know what's going on.

Since you both have gone far with the dub, it might be distracting to change now. Even though IMO sub is better, dub is not that bad. So if it takes you out of the experience since you already match the voices to the faces, to me it's okay to stay with the dub.
