Ridgeway! My great grandparents have one in their bedroom that you can hear from the sunroom! It was the best chime I’ve ever heard! That one was my favourite one

I love the sound of the Seth Thomas! It feels like a very full sound! But unfortunatly I have to go with the Ridgeway's chime, strictly for nostalgia reasons. My grandparents had a clock that had a very similar chime sound. Brings back loads of memories. Funny how that goes.

For me it was both the Seth Thomas and the Unmarked German clocks that were the best. Thanks for sharing the clocks and the video.

Out of all my clocks in my collection. I feel that my Howard Millers has the best Westminster chime. Specially my 1960's Howard Miller grandmother clock and my Howard Miller long case clock but out of the ones you showed? I like the last clock you showed "unmarked German" which is very similar to one I have. I feel as though the longer/bigger the case the deeper and better they sounds, it also depends on the robs used etc. Anyways the Howard's I think have best chime of them all as far as other clocks I have heard, excluding my bell musical clocks and my cuckoo collection! I have some of the same clock you guys have. I have been a clock/watch smith for over 30 years now. Been collecting clocks longer then that. Don't ask me how many I have cause I stopped counting after 500! This does not include my vintage antique pocket watches and wrist watches nor does it include the many clocks I have for sale at the shop! I do love me some time pieces, specially the rare ones that are hard to find! Thanks for sharing this video. You guys have a good collection there.

Westminster is really perfectly melody for the clock. I HAVE Three pendulum clock but there's not one that sound this melody. For me, it's a sweet melody.

As someone who has heard Big Ben in London strikes thousands of times, I'd say that the Seth Thomas chimes were the most authentic. The rest sounded like they were in a minor key or a bit 'thin'

The second clock the Howard Miller hammers need adjusting also. You can do that ya know. Simple.

I am not voting there is an error in comparison of the American clocks. Hammers and their positioning does make a difference, a good example is the Seth Thomas, listen to the third note you get a woody sound. That sound could be a result of the positioning of the hammer or the material on the hammer head. When we compare it has to be apple to apple and I do not think that is the case here.
