The Sims 4 has been around for a while now, some would say it has overstayed it’s welcome!
I’ve been seeing a few posts lately form simmers who are missing some of the best bit we got in the sims 3 and I’ve heard that the word on the street is that the sims 3 is better than the sims 4. Well I’ve decided to take matters into my own hands and find out which game is better in a new comparison series where I’ll be looking at the top features of the sims 3 and sims 4 games and expansion packs to conclude which sims game is best.
This is the second video in this series and this time we are comparing the sims 3 generations with the sims 4 parenthood.
The sims 3 generations brings a lot to the game and is still to this day one of the most well-loved expansion packs brought out for the Sims 3, but can it be topped by the sims 4 parenthood? Let’s find out!

Generations is, for me, the best pack EVER MADE to the WHOLE SIMS FRANCHISE... if you are a person that likes family gameplay... you might agree with me

I don’t even have parenthood or TS3 but generations looks SOOOO much better!! The tree houses and strollers and stuff?! oh my god!! honestly now I just want to get TS3 because all of their packs seem so much better 😂

@@cho6464 Go to Edit Town mode, then change all houseboats to Community lot->No Visitors Allowed, then go back to the live mode, then enjoy your Isla Paradiso life. :)

I think it's important to note that to get generations in ts4 currently we need parenthood, high school years, kids room stuff, toddler stuff, my wedding disaster, and it's still incomplete after all that

It's a little bit unfair to compare one of the biggest EPs ever made to a Game Pack which costs half as much, BUT if we analyze how successful each pack is at achieving its goal, The Sims 3 Generations still wins. The problem with Parenthood is that ultimately nothing you do really matters. You might've spent a lot of time teaching one of your kids manners, but all you get is a reward trait, and traits do practically nothing in The Sims 4. I do enjoy some of the activities Parenthood added, but it was a very mediocre pack overall. Generations, on the other hand, achieved its goal of fleshing out each generation and even added some extra things such as a new active career and a revamped memory system.

MTE i checked out this video to see how can she compare an actual ep like gens to parenthood ... its not the same at all. gens win 100% no chance for parenthood

I like the grounding options in the Sims 4. That's it. That's the only point I've got for it in this round.

Dunno about anybody else, but, erm... ...Well... (in real life) Shagging in the shower I found to be rather awkward, and most definitely with lots of potential for injury from slipping over in there! 🤔😬😵 My girl and I much preferred doing it in a bath instead of the shower. Best in a big hotel bath suite too! And doing it in the sea was an experience, that's for sure! Though I am aware that shagging in water is apparently not a great idea, and can supposedly irritate yet bits down there!? 🤔😬🤷🏻‍♂️ 'Romantic' shower 🚿👩‍❤️‍👨 shagging isn't always that easy or safe! 🤔😬😆

I'm honestly surprised EA never tried to bring more of Generations back to the Sims 4. Parenthood is alright but the treehouse and imaginary friend teddy bear would be so much more fun.

I was born in the year sims 3 came out, so I’ve only ever played the sims 4. but now that I watch videos comparing them, i REALLY wanna play the sims 2 and 3z

You can sims 3 is on steam I installed it on an external hard drive so it doesn’t kill my computer

Look for guides to running the sims 3. Acottonsock has some good ones. You have to edit one ini file: the game won't recognize your graphics card, so the engine defaults to running in potato mode. One tweak and the game will run MUCH smoother.

@@felizjueves0 it's ran quite opposite actually. In my cheap laptop that I bought for school projects many years ago, it's running quite smoothly, sure sometimes lag does happen, but it never crashed. So I'm really confused when people say that it's always crashing, and those people have high end expensive gaming computer.

I don't think parenthood is that good like poeple think it is, I think family simmers finally have gameplay in that aread but its pretty blah after the first time (but thats like most things in the sims 4)

Notice how parenthood is all this in one pack, but if you want to do these things in the sims you need to buy multiple other packs

late night is personally my fave but SEASONS GENERATIONS AMBITIONS AND PETS ARE PERFECTION. also world adventures showtime and island paradise are underrated 😍❤️ love sims 3 ugh

I think the Sims 3 is the superior game. It’s fun, has more gameplay and just feels like a more immersive and gives the player a better experience imho 😊

I cracked up when you said "and that's about it..." when describing the Sims 4 Parenthood pack 😂😂. TS4 overall is a lot less interesting, fun and interactive compared to TS3. TS3 had so many features that I forgot or didn't even know it had, I couldn't explore or enjoy it at the time because my game would lag/crash so much. I'm attempting to reinstall TS3 as apparently there are mods to help the game run a lot more smoothly, really hope it works because TS3 had so many amazing features and I can not stand TS4 anymore, the gameplay is almost non-existent.

While generations sounds like an awesome pack this video really reminded me how much was added in parenthood, sure it could have more but it is only a game pack at the end of the day.

Even though I haven’t a computer to play TS3, and haven’t played on one since TS2, I have learned what all TS3 offers thanks to YTers and by that I mean I was expecting to click the video and you just say “Generations” and that be the end of the video

If things were ONLY focused on kids I would really give this to Parenthood. Even kids and teens together would be competitive. I think we really need more gamepacks for teens, and one for elders, although I know the latter will never happen because elders are the least popular lifestage, so they don't add much to them, so they get less popular, so there is less incentive to add content for them, so they continue to get less popular and you get the idea. What's interesting is that, on the Sims 3 forums, I really got the impression that I was in the minority of people who liked Generations for a long time. The pack didn't really get popular until later on.

You’re kinda right. Last time I heard is that parenthood is supposed to be it’s own thing. Not a sims 4 version of generations. If the hints are right we might get a sims 4 version of generations.
