Sign him for what reason? So they can take 90% of the earnings from all of his songs that people download and play? Music industry is rotting from within. He’s doing his own solo thing which is way for freeing than being stuck with some record company.

With Dickey Bett's mom in Bradenton they were often around Tampa, Bradenton, Sarasota. I saw them in Sarasota 1970/71 at Robards arena with Duane. I lived on Highway 41 (Ramblin' Man) You may have heard of the Poindexter Band from Brandeton, that played on Dickie's first solo "Highway Call" album, I used to play with them, harmonica pro 45 years.

They're probably great musicians themselves who let their jealousy get the best of them. People don't realize just how incredibly hard it is to build an audience on KZfaq as an independent musician. This guy is amazing, but also amazingly lucky. I've seen so many musicians who are every bit as amazing with next to no subscribers or views. It's hard not to get bitter and hate on the lucky one's some days.

The ABB used to always end their concerts with "Whipping Post" until they quit playing it except on rare special occasions. About 30 years ago I saw them at Darien Lakes where they put down a version of Whipping Post that was so stunning, that when it was done the entire arena filed out and walked to our cars speechless in total silence. Many years later I saw them for the last time at Chastain Park. After decades of being treated to a great show, it was depressing to see them go through the motions, and I knew it was over. But now we have quite a few artists that understand the greatness of the ABB and their tunes, and they are using youtube to provide us a modern day fix of ABB. I really enjoyed Mr. Howie's rendition and his ability to perform without any backing rhythm.
