What is the function of the noise filter?What are the symptoms of its failure?

The electrical line input filter basically cleans up (attenuates) the voltage before it enters the electronics of the washing machine. If the washer is hit with a voltage spike the filter can fail and be open for continuity when tested rendering the washer dead.

Greetings, i will like to know what is the output voltage of the noise filter, my washing machine is connected to a 110 voltage input, i tested using a voltage meter and the output it´s the same, it´s that´s rigth or should be different?? thank´s for your time....

@@TheRepairGuru 5 years late.. but can the noise filter be tested for continuity, to see if it's bad or should it be tested for resistance? My machine won't power on after power outage and I suspect this might be related.
