I just wanted to say THANK YOU! I was able to fix my mom’s washer that had the same error codes. I purchased the replacement part and saved her hundreds by not having to buy a new washer. THANKS AGAIN!!!

Awesome, awesome, awesome! Thank you so much for taking the time to make this video! You saved me from an expensive game of parts roulette! We replaced the MCU, and everything is working fine now. My MCU was burned out in the exact same spot, and it also even had another burnt out component on the board. I personally think that this circuitry on this board is too weak to do the job. I blame Whirlpool on this one.

Good job. Mine worked again after turning it off and opening and reclosing the dispenser and front load door. My mcu might be failing, but good to know a fix and others good suggestions below.

If the mcu is bad, will there be 120v from ccu when on?

Thank you. I Just had a handyman came here try to fix washer and he said, not worth it. That I was better off buying a new one. I will definitely try this . Thank you so much. I forgot to ask what if I also don't get the water to flow the matching is still no movement. Does the motor control affect not pushing the water machine?

The main control board receives and sends signals to ALL COMPONENTS. Motor control just controls motor which moves the basket. ALWAYS plug all appliances to a surge protector. MOST parts work in low voltage (12, 13, 5, 3.5 volts) which are very susceptible to voltages spikes which federal law allows to go as high as 600 volts. MANY homes older than age 10 were wired for 110 or 115 volt service. Utilities now set voltage at 122 volts per line - often to high for an older appliance and home wiring. Ad of 1/1/21, Government requires Whole House Surge protectors.

Okay mine is beeping 6 - 1 ARS can't be the motor control. Are suspending and working find is at the end of the cycle that it doesn't want to finish out .☹️

You mention that the MCU could have burned out due to overloading the machine. Is that something that can typically happen? I'm concerned that a friend who uses my washer has twice gotten an error code that indicates MCU. I replaced the MCU and all was fine. But now again 6 months later. I'm thinking they overload the washer and that is why.

If you took the front panel off to clean the filter - It needs to be put back on to trip the mounted ground switch or you will get a F6 error

Exactly! I was being cautious and left it off to make sure there were no leaks and started getting the F6 E1 error. Problem resolved when I put the cover back on. THANK YOU

@@tommygee2377 You are welcome. Note 2 things: 1: You can also hold the switch in by hand (but you would be there a while) 2: If you ever have the back off, there is a switch there as well.

This tiny bit of information just saved me a tremendous amount of time trying to figure out why I was getting a F6 error code when I had just gone inside the washer to replace something else. I had left the panel off to make sure all was well from the first repair. I'm so glad I ran across this bit of information, THANK YOU!!!

Hi James, Just put your model number in a Google search along with the word motor control unit. You’ll see 5 to 6 companies that sell the motor control unit.

MANY TIMES the problem is a loose it corroded connector at board or motor control. Simply unplugging and replugging those will scratch and clean the connection. Electronic parts cleaner can work too. Also possibly caused by a voltage surge. ALWAYS attach SURGE PROTECTOR in appliances. Be laws in many states REQUIIRE FULL HOUSE SURGE PROTECTORS as of January 1.

In this case a controller was at fault but that code could pop up too if you had bad brushes or open armature in the motor...many reasons same code.

Replaced the electronic control board and still did not work. comes on getting the same results as your video, just hangs up sensing. error log has f5e2 and f6e1 errors. door does lock at beginning of cycle

I replaced the motor control unit in my washer. I immediately saw the spin basket rotate. It did not complete one wash cycle, with no clothes in the washer, before basket rotation stopped like prior to installing the MCU.

@@QuickAndEasy5MinuteAppliance I'm having the same issue. I had F06 E01 so I replaced the MCU and it worked for 2 loads. Then my washer stopped working since it's a new MCU and still passed visual inspection I did a continuity test on the cables. They all passed. I went ahead and replaced the CCU, still no dice. Would the door lock still throw this code? I can still hear my door lock engage but the motor does not turn.

Part number is likely dependent on your model number. Search for motor control unit and your model number.

Why do they make junk. My washer is four years old. I have this problem. I have a washer 40 years old that I wash my barn cloths in. Not a problem with it.

Because manufacturers make MONEY 💰 building appliances that REQUIIRE replacement every 8 years ir less. The MORE you spend on an appliance, the more likely sophisticated technology will fail requiring expensive repair or replacement. Whirlpool is making hardly many replacement parts available, using COVID shutdowns in Michigan as an excuse.
