Omg i’m so thankful for your videos me and my fiancé are looking into buying in the DR, my fiancé is dominican and i’m american, and your videos are helping me so much since i’m american. Home Depot, IKEA, Ashley's Furniture, Walmart, Best Buy, etc. in Puerto Rico. You can put everything on the ferry that goes to Santo Domingo every day

Great idea with the kitchen wall and window! Omg brother plans to do exactly that at the cottage. Leaving in a week prepared to stay longer just incase something happens with testing lol. Love my country but sometimes I just shake my head. See ya soon

"please dont mix cement in my kitchen" Truer words have never been spoken.. Another issue we had was that a wood worker was installing a built in bookshelf and decided to do the cutting and the sanding INSIDE the house where we already had furniture. Luckily he was just getting started when my cousin came in and lost his sh1t on him and told him to do that cutting and sanding outside. Apparently it was too much walking to do it outside. A$$hat.

Hey fella. Great video, really cool home. My wife and I purchased a home in Puerto Plata and we are from the states also. We went through the same issues with construction. It is what it is. Only suggestion is that you should have negotiated a bit more. I feel you paid a lot for some things. Best of luck we will see you in April for a drink.

Glad you mentioned slipping. OMG in two hotels I nearly did break my butt. Do you just spray the outside a/c unit case with the Bowshield? Or inside the case also.

Are building materials costs considerably higher in the DR due to supply chain issues? I hear as a foreigner you also pay higher property taxes, is it true? Your house is amazing, thanks for all the information.

That’s not a good tile or expensive, they made from clay with thin coat of glaze on top when you chip the corner you see brown .

Yes the developers cut corners, put cheap materials in the house then charge a lot of money for the house or apartments. Change my mind. Will not be buying in the DR . Prefer to build my own house.
