Dan Wesson Co2 Revolver PRO POWER MOD and TUNE UP
Twice the power in a few minutes. Power after mod: 3.43Ft Lb - 4.66 joules - 427fps. Plus Fix chamber not revolving issue.
Easy valve swap.
This Dan Wesson was shooting low at around 250fps once we swapped the valve for a valve from a dan wesson 8inch pellet revolver, we upped that to over 427fps. We also fixed the revolving chamber issue that some of you have had, where the chamber does not revolve and seat fully causing the pellet to half index and jam. We show how to change these parts easily despite it being the first time we have done this.
Dont waste your time watching other videos on KZfaq talking about increasing the hammer strength by way of an adjustable nut and bolt assembly in the grip, we have tried this and there is a reason that non of those videos show a chronograph output before and after the mod, its because it doesnt work.
Having talked with ASG for many months on this subject we were given the opportunity to trail the 8 inch valve with the higher output. This is due to the internal workings and thinner washer inside the valve.

Great video for showing the indexing repair, however you don't have to do this mod to increase the fps. All you need to do to get a 50%+ increase in both fps and ft/lbs is to buy some DAN WESSON 715 shells instead. They fit the 2.5 in gun perfectly but being rear loading they increase the effective barrel length by another two inches. It's like having a longer barrel, this causes the gas to over pressurise and gives an immediate and dramatic power boost. On my chronograph I got 427fps, which is just over 3 joules. You're welcome.

nope sir, its not only the barrel, the shells are different, the BBs version is placed on the front, generating a vacuum inside the shell, and having greater loss of pressure and gas in the mouth of the valve that connects to the shell. however in the Pellet version, the pellet is placed in the back part receiving the direct pressure from the mouth of the valve system, and BBs use Smooth cannon does not provide the drill effect torque generated by the pellet version, because it spins with its rifled barrel, Pellet balistic is different as a BBs

Do you think doing the mod and getting the 715 shell's would increase the power even more? I'm looking for a pellet pistol for home defense. I have a Vigilante and a Sig saur M17 both about 400 fps but wish to have more power if possible

@@derekmcmillian6557 Try a Daisy BB pistol! Holds 21 shots and does 500 fps right outta the box!!! Sounds much louder than the other three gas pistols I own and is super accurate with BBs.

Ive had a chat with my contact at ASG and im told ASG resellers should provide you with parts, they all have the ability. Perhaps its not worth their while, be specific with the item you need, go to ASG website and see the exploded diagrams for the dan wesson.

My cylinder was unaligned too causing the jamming issue. I managed to straighten the cylinder arm with a wrench and a screwdriver and being very careful.

Where on earth did you get the indexing post? I am at the end of my wits here, the revolver only had a few shots before the drum stopped rotating, and it has to be the post as I took it apart and it all functions (visually) as it should.

The replacement valve you can buy is the same in every Dan Wesson pellet gun. There isn't an 'upgrade' so not sure how you achieved such a huge power upgrade.

When you put that plate on the outside the best way to do it is just lay it down top on first up by the hammer then pull the hammer back and it falls right into place you don't even have to pull the hammer back that far

Well, I got my replacement valve today, and was suspicious of it since it has the red stripe painted on the side. Only took a few minutes to install though. It provided no increase in power. I am sure it is the same valve as I removed. Do you have the part numbers that you ordered? And which model of 8" DW you ordered the replacement valve for? Keep up the great work.

Ah yes the red stripe is the low power valve. 8inch dan wesson pellet valve, where are you based, UK? We dont have a part number sorry. Hope ypu can get your valve sorted. The only thing I would have done different is to put the cylinder in place before inserting the yoke.on my m65 revolver I was taught to do so to keep the yokes original tolerance..just a thought

As someone said below 715 shells will give you an extra 80 to 90 fps which is just right and super easy ,tho not psrticularly cheap ,box of 24 is about £ 40

Allen busch these seemed to temp resolve the problem, however the plastic piece has resolved the issue. thanks for watching. the plastic piece is well worth a go first. much easier.

or you do the Hammer Mod with a simple screw and mother , the grip is prepared for this. That give´s more and adjustable power on the hammer spring ( valve opens more and longer ) for more fps ;)

Yes, it's a common thing with these guns. They come that way 90% of the time. It's annoying but there are ways to fix it.

Claudio is right almost all have a wobbly hammer. This is one of the first things that reviewers are quick to moan about and of course claim utter disappointmet... but it really isnt a lack of quality. It seems these manufacturers have used any trick possible to avoid these things being too powerful. There will, as Claudio pointed out, be solutions online. Bear in mind it will get stiffer in time but if it bugs you too much, id open it up and add a few small washers just to tighten it up a touch. This can also be done with a loose grip but using sticky foam pads on the inside to make it fit tighter. Peace

I took both valves apart, some very interesting differences inside, neither one are the same as the two you displayed in your video. I'll try video some chrony tests and send them to you. I'm in Canada, which has some restrictions on air guns.

I’m curious as to why your FPS was so low before the modification, were you using the power down shells? They come as standard in many countries. I removed the restrictor in my shells and I believe the gun should now be firing around 400fps with the original 6inch valve. Your thoughts and comments would be appreciated.

@@jamesguest1238 There may not be a restricter in your shell, but if there is, literally just pull the plastic "bullet" piece apart from the metal shell, there'll be a small metal piece inside that you can just remove. But restricters are only put on models sold in country's that require airsoft guns to be under 1 joule

Are you talking about the spring at 10:37 in our video or the spring behind the trigger at around 10:53? There are a few springs associated with the trigger. how did the spring get bent? If your need a new spring measure the ID and OD and length and you could easily buy one from ebay, otherwise go to ASGs website and look at the dan wesson breakdown and find the part and part number then a dan wesson dealer will be able to get you the replacement spring. Perhaps look at the break down on action sports games website and send us an email (Found on our about page) with the part highlighted. We will try and assist best we can.

mmmm... you only increase +18FPS changing a valve.... I guess that is expensive, hard to find, and impractical. I was chronograph and BBs version 2.5" Dan Wesson works around 380-418 FPS 0.35 Steel BBs. You're right, all the other modifications shown on KZfaq, are useless the best option is to buy the Pellet version if you want more power, and use pellets Gamo PBA Armor 0.44 grs for an optimal performance. The BBs versions has greater beauty and detail only.

Why do Dan Weston sell them vastly under powered and broke if you have change all those parts. I watch because I wanted to buy one. Every video is about upgrading or fixing. Putting me off if your aloud 6 pounds at least make them 5 and make them work properly in the first place. I wanted to ear how good they Not if you buy loads of new parts you can make them decent

I hear you man i had the same issue. To me it seems like maybe the crossman 357 2.5 inch is best for the money but still needs upgrades. I agree heres hoping they start to make this things more worth the investment. They do seem fun but i wont trust it until its been fixed and perfected in performance. Peace

that gun only shoots 250 fps!!! 🤣🤣😂😂 my pellet version STARTS at 430 and i use .30g composite aluminum alloy pellets, never crono'd the beast but i bet it's shooting at around 480 or 490 fps with ZERO MODS, OH i see, their must be a different standard valve her in CANADA, good that these ARE easy to fix though

They did mention it and what they are telling us is more appreciated in this. Id say based on the pesentation and effort they are saying that there are less ego driven videos to be made, and where what they are relling you makes sense. Not only that but compared to a lot of these types of videos I've seen these guys offer tried and tested tips and at the same time doing a much needed breakdown so you can see how to do it. Classic approach but with a personal touch im hoping they do more
