Crested price-wise is about a halfway between the standard bottle and Redbreast, so about €40 or maybe €45. That said you can often get it on sale for around €30.

Guys, I’m in Ireland right now. It’s 28 euros at the duty free and 45 everywhere else. Also definitely NOT available in the U.S. It’s fantastic

I prefer Crested myself. Jameson Single Pot Still doesn’t have as much Sherry Cask in the finish. But both are very good bottles from Jameson! Great choice!

Even if you’re willing to pay $200+ per bottle, it’s not something that you can just pick up at a Total Wine. What Crested lacks in base value, it makes up for in scarcity (in the US). Jameson Crested is sold everywhere in Ireland, but it is not distributed to the US unless you’re willing to pay twice the base price for international shipping (which I do…in bulk). It’s $40-50/bottle in Ireland, but the shipping is at least $75 if you’re in the states. For this reason, Crested is essentially a premium whiskey to anyone in my neck of the woods. Definitely the best one in Jameson lineup. Smells great too (takes me right back to Dublin).

I was at Jameson last week! Took the tour and sampled Crested, standard, and Black Barrel in the tasting room. Crested was by far my favorite. Black Barrel was a bit too sweet. They confirmed that Crested was not available in the US as the more bourbon leaning profiles sell better. Brought a bottle of Crested home!

I know there are whiskey channels that will do flights and compare all major releases from a distillery. I think it would be a neat concept with the vault so instead of one comparison, you get several. Thought of this because I would have loved to see you compare the Crested with Black Barrel rather than the entry level Jameson.

I always bring a bottle or 2 of it back when I visit Ireland, it goes for around 40€ there. As far as I know it’s not available in the states unfortunately. It’s a really good bottle especially at its price. One that even non whiskey people can enjoy and appreciate.

Jameson Crested is one of my favourite whiskeys. In the UK it is usually £33, when on sale it is £27, comapared to the original Jameson being £25. No brainer. It does not compete with Redbreast as that is £46.

Can a whiskey aficionado please recommend whiskies with the following notes? - Toffee, caramel, chocolate. Something in this ballpark would be nice. Preferably in the toffee/caramel side more than chocolate. I want to try a whiskey, but the range seems to be so big, and the offerings so plenty, I feel like I could spend $5,000 trying to hunt down what I'm looking for.

Notes being subjective makes this kinda tricky. I will say, I don't think dropping $5K is necessary unless you want a really high (20+) age statement. As far as a general direction goes based off of what you said, look toward highland/speyside scotch aged in bourbon and sherry cask.

You might enjoy something with a Stout Cask Finish. Those typically have a lot of chocolate notes.

@@lolzguyl Haha! I meant spend $5,000 buying bottle after bottle trying to find what I'm looking for. This was more of a joke about how many different whiskies there are. I didn't mean spend $5,000 on a single bottle. The first whiskey I ever drank was Lagavulin 16. I was 25 years old and I wouldn't say I loved it, but I from time to time have a taste for it around winter time. So it definitely stuck with me. The second whiskey I drank was just original Jack Daniels, and believe it or not, I tend to have a taste for Jack Daniels more than any other type of liquor. There's something about the distinct taste and smell of Jack Daniels that's unique and almost addictive. Even though I know it's a cheap whisky. I can tolerate vanilla, which is why I was thinking about maybe trying an Irish. Everybody who tries Readbreast 12 says they like it, so I might try that.

I import a lot of this from the UK and pay about $40.00 US with free shipping. This is not available in the US but is the best product Jameson makes for the price. I purchase this at Hard to Find Whiskey in the UK which has free shipping if you spend 500 pounds. I normally purchase 20 + bottles at a time beacuse all of my friends are hooked on this. When I traveled to France I was able to buy this for 21 euros at Carr Four. Cheers....

Picked up a bottle of this at the Jameson Distillery in Dublin! :) They described it as an 'original Irish whiskey' recipe and I found it definitely preferable over Jameson. Didn't know it was available stateside yet...Time to go looking for a replacement (backup) bottle. Slainte!

I got it on special today for €25 but standard it goes for €38-€40(in ireland) jameson is €27-30 and redbreast is €60... so right in the middle. I love it at this price range.

They used to sell this in Canada. It was I think 10 bucks more over the regular Jamison. But its been a few years since we have had the crested. Had to stock up before it went MIA. The crested is my wife's favorite.

In Dublin Ireland you can buy the Crested for between €25/€35 sometimes just sometimes it sells for €40 love the Crested

I've recently bought this bottle in Poland for an equivalent of about 20 dollars. As for the bang for buck ratio it's up there with Bushmills Black Bush, really good stuff.

Just came back from Ireland. From my understanding Crested is only available in Ireland. It is also maybe $45 if you buy it in thw store. If you buy it in the duty free shop and are going back to the US (like me) I picked it up for $30.

I get my Jameson Crested from the Dublin aiport whenever I go. (Flight attendant) I'm pretty sure I paid €25 for each bottle. It's one of my favorite whiskeys and I really don't care for original Jameson.

I did get my bottle from Europe. It cost me about $40, this is what Jameson should be(entry level) a lot more character. A lot more flavors and no metallic essence. And then I start thinking is it better than a Jameson black barrel? Cost me about the same I wish I could save a little bit so I can compare. Did anyone try side by side? Thank you guys for the incredible review again.

Better than the black barrel in my opinion. If you prefer the green apple, shortbread and spicy pot still notes then definitely the Crested. The black barrel is a bit muted for me, just sweet and nothing much more.

It was called Crested 10, not Crested 12. It’s widely available in Ireland and in a few countries like Canada. It’s available in a lot of travel shops as well as online Irish retailers. Lots more Sherry finish, I think the Pot Still to Grain is 80/20, but I might be thinking Sherry to Bourbon. Outstanding bottle for less than $40!

Jameson's for me tastes too watery, and a lot of Irish Whiskeys do, I've been propelled towards Scotch for that reason, I like my whiskey to bite me back, I'm in the UK so I can't really speak for Bourbon, but yeah you want to know you're drinking whiskey, at least in my opinion

Since when is this available state side? I bought a bottle when I went to Ireland for my 10 year wedding anniversary I sadly found out after I drank the entire bottle it was Ireland only release? I have a bottle to hunt!

It was originally Crested 10, not 12, and had a far higher percentage of pot still in the blend than the bog standard Jameson. Older bottles from the 80s and 90s are fantastic, bottles since the name change not so much.
