Whitby offers the classic attractions one would expect from a seaside resort, including delightful fish and chips, fluffy candy floss, and traditional seaside rock. However, its distinction lies in the famous jet jewelry and most notably, its connection to the spooky legend of Count Dracula.
Prepare to be spellbound by the breathtaking views from the top of the Abbey, gained only by climbing a staggering 199 steps.

You guys certainly get around! Whitby looks charming and I loved the drone shots,, spectacular..! Since I live in Australia Whitby is quite an important part of this countries history… I’ll look it up but I’ve never heard of Whitby Jet,, I’m going to guess it’s a gemstone..? Cheers 👍

Thank you for your comment, Mikey. As the weather in the UK is getting better as we move into Spring we'll be able to get the drone out more often. Jet is a semi precious gemstone 💎. We've heard it's the blackest gemstone and Whitby is reputed to have the finest quality jet 👍🌞⭐

Bloke walking about at 01:00 with the orange mackintosh and hotpants, badly reminded me of Charles Hawtrey as Mr. Muggins in 'Carry On Camping' !! Just change the orange mac to a lemon yellow one with a couple of pots and pans dangling from his rucksack and hes there!

Good walk around the town. 199 steps, get you 😂 nice fish and chips in Papas if Magpie Cafe busy. Duke of York looked great. Dracular was an interesting read, would recommend if you haven't already done so. Thanks Colin & Tim...

Hi Christopher. We've only been to the Papas in Blackpool and we weren't overly impressed. Thanks for recommending the book "Dracula" We know a few people who have read it but they all have different opinions about it 🦇🦇🦇

Ye I binged watched, couldn't help myself! loved the barnsley vlog, it's amazing what they have done, back in my day the 80s you was lucky to get out of the tarn in one piece... alive even hahaha I hope the youth of today appreciate what they got! Anyway keep up the great blogs ;)))

Those benches alongside the 199 steps are known as Coffin Benches They were used by Pallbearers to take a break when carrying the Dead up to the Church I absolutely love Whitby it’s my favourite place to visit including Trenchers for Fish & Chips 😋

jet is found in only 2 places on earth romania and whitby and whitby jet is purer of the two and you can tell woth black sandpaper the darker the scratch shows its whitby jet and vice versa incidentally i went there last year with my nephew and i raced him up the steps and i won by a wide margin im 49 hes 28 👊🏻🤣
