A start to finish walk along the Cleveland Way from Whitby to Robin Hood's Bay. Considered one of the best coastal walks in Britain. This walk takes in the Whalebone Arch, the historic streets of Whitby, the 199 Steps and Whitby Abbey before joining the Cleveland Way to Robin Hood's Bay. This coastal walk offers incredible views across the North Sea and Jurassic Coast. On this walk, you will pass Saltwick Bay, famous for fossils, sunsets and shipwrecks before heading past Bass Ness and onwards into the idyllic coastal retreat of Robin Hood's Bay.
The walk will take around 3-4 hours at a steady pace, with a few rests along the way. More experienced and nimble walkers should be able to complete this walk within 2-3 hours. You can make this walk a circular walk by returning to Whitby along the Cinder Track. You can also return to Whitby via bus or taxi.
We love this Whitby to Robin Hood's Bay walk. This video captures some incredible coastal scenery. This video was shot on a crisp winters day and the sunset at Robin Hood's Bay was just spectacular.
