I like your technique Piercing Salute… it’s very similar to a Red Belt technique I designed called Tip of the Spear. However, instead of the double outside block, double chop and knee, I use a rising mountain (you mentioned a wedge block) then a neck twister to a pendulum groin chop then a lifting elbow…. Same sequence works on the ground in mount or in guard but I add a hip buck along with the rising mountain. I like that your technique is mostly bilateral symmetrical and relatively simple in motion. My only two pieces of advice would be to: 1) step forward not backward due to there may be a wall or obstacle behind you and 2) change your vocabulary from “choke” to strangulation… people can choke on a piece of steak, but strangulation is a violent attack. Plus, it’s more legally correct to say. I teach zero techniques against a choke… however, I have many defenses against strangulation. Might seem like semantics but it reveals a deeper understanding and maturity about the violence we are teaching students to deal with. Thanks for the video… well explained and demonstrated.

I learned most of these as a kid. I made it to the point of yellow belt but couldn't afford the test :( Anyway, I'm wanting to incorporate MA into my workouts, and I think sticking with what I know is best. I've been scouring the Internet looking for guides to remind me of what I learned back then. This is the closest I've found. It's hard to practice without a partner, though.
