@@HitTheBricks89 we don't expect it, but we appreciate it. Thank you for pointing out our sin.
@HitTheBricks892 жыл бұрын
@@billhawkins192 Well done for speaking on behalf of everyone who watches standup Bill. I'm sure they all appreciate a self appointed spokesman presuming to know their opinions. The Op speaks of 'being made to wait for uploads' , which are free and I felt it indicative of a larger issue of artists , musicians , comedians finding it harder and harder to sell tickets and get paid because of society's expectation of entertainment being free. Unfortunately a lot of of our performers in this country are feeling totally disheartened at not being able to earn enough to live even a basic existence. . I work with bands and almost all of them now i book for tours in other parts of Europe because the culture there allows them to get paid , in some places well. Germany for example will pay on average between 5 to 8 times the UK circuit The only time most play the Uk is festivals which they will reluctantly do for very little and try and focus on it being more of a self promotion and for exposure. There are established 6 years in the business bands that have 5 members and will travel to Manchester from London to play, say the hole in the wall and get paid £300 because that's what the UK circuit get away with. We do not respect what it takes financially to make the art and live as an artist and then pay for travel, accommodation etc in this country. I regularly hear people outside smaller venues in London bitching about having to pay a fiver or seven quid to see two bands and be entertained for over two hours. Oh and I wasn't pointing out any sin as it's a construct for those who wish for guilt and shame to atone for. horrible punishing religious shit . Anyway , maybe speak to a few artists , you'll find out what I'm saying is pretty factual and rather than speaking against anyone I'm just speaking up for those artists because often this stuff just goes unsaid .

Good Hong Kong ((NOT 'chinese') accent! Ive lived in Hong Kong awhile and he was spot on! After the chinese crackdown on democracy in this former British colony, many more HKers have migrated to the UK. Please be kind to them, they've already escaped CCP bullying back in the 60s when they escaped to HK, and once again had to uproot and escape again thanks to the UK reneging on the Joint Declaration that promised HK autonomy for FIFTY years, not FIFTEEN!
@Qantz Жыл бұрын
why do you have to bring politics into everything when you know nothing about politics? CCP are bullies and 1.5 billion Chinese live under oppression? You must be mad or extremely insulting about Chinese people not knowing to fight back or know what's right from wrong. Since you are on KZfaq, go learn more about China. A tip for you, there are thousands of China hate videos, you'll love them. But just try and find one that tells a different story for curiosity's sake.

Mate, what’s the UK supposed to do if China disregards its agreements? Hong Kong should never have been given independence.
@robertingle984515 күн бұрын
If the UK had never been involved the HK would never have had the infrastructure and connections to become rich and would be just another Chinese province that we hadn't heard of and couldn't pronounce. Its inhabitants wouldn't have the money or "moral right" to move here.

This is literally the same line for line as his last 2 or 3 sets over the last few yrs? Even on this page. Why he not writing out new. Lazy
@HitTheBricks892 жыл бұрын
That is how comedy sets are formed. stand up comedy isn't spontaneous usually , it's meticulous, practiced again and again in the mirror and once established very rarely changed 90% of comedians do exactly the same. A reliable ten minute set is their best stuff from the last few years and occasionally they might add one new joke if it's gone down well at open mic nights and at scratch gigs. Mickey Flannigan had been doing the out, out joke at most of his gigs around the country, for about twenty years, before most people got to hear it. Go and see any popular band at a big gig and what you'll hear their most popular songs.
@changebegins68912 жыл бұрын
@@HitTheBricks89 yeah you're right, Gary Delaney (I think) is fkin hilarious but most of his sets are virtually the same. I'd still go to watch him though as I love the way he tells them. As Frank Carson once said "it's the way I tell em"
