This is one of the most perfect scenes, it is hard to even know what to praise, it's all great. But I want to single out the subtle changes in Snipes' facial expressions...the way a bit of nervousness breaks through the macho bravado around 5:31 as he realizes he is the sheep and not the wolf, and the way his look of frustration changes into a look of thoughtfulness at the end as he starts to realize the possibilities of teaming up with Woody's character. Great stuff.
@MichaelWorthy25Ай бұрын
So on point. There's so many layers to this story and it's brilliantly written. Woody does a great job with Billy playing the ignorant outsider who presents himself as an easy mark. It's the ultimate con game. Welsey's portrayal of Sidney is perfect as the cocky and skillful hustler who meets his match. I noticed the look on Sidney's face too; he knew the game had changed, but his ego wouldn't let him back down. That's why Sidney and Billy make such a good team. Sidney is a straight up businessman; even though he was trying to save face in front of his people, he was also sizing Billy up. Sidney is a talent rep with no leads; Billy is the fresh talent with no manager. How could Sidney resist? Billy played college ball and used his appearance as his camouflage. Sidney played street ball, but all he needed was Billy's "geeky white chump" guise to clean house, and even Sidney was forced to step up his game.
