Personally I dont care how long ago these videos are I'm binging the entire playlist of fruits, I've always been interested in various cultures such as how they celebrate certain occasions, their religions, folklore, and foods especially food!!

You can get these at farmer's markets in California, especially southern California for about $2.50 to $4 per pound. I've eaten them from several different sources and have come to the conclusion that there is quite a big of variance from tree to tree. The named cultivars (e.g. Sue Bell) seem to be sweeter, with less bitterness in the skin but also smaller. The natural trees grown from seed aren't as sweet, just moderate, but have larger fruit. I started out peeling them but it was so difficult because the flesh is mushy when they're ripe. I just eat the skin now. as they ripen, some varieties get a slight yellowish tinge, others are still pure green, but soft and ripe and ready.

living here in california i've had many white sapotes. looks like that particular sapote was picked too soon and therefore did not ripen properly. when properly ripe, white sapotes are extremely sweet and, in my opinion, delicious.

This video is old, but I watched one recently and the farmer said that the basil taste is because it's immature, and not fully ripe.

should be yellow skin when ripe. very delicious. my family had a large tree and we ate all th time. dont pick from tree but wait until they drop.

looks too green to eat for white sapote. I've had a few that were softer and more pale green and ripe. I didn't have a problem biting into them and eating the skin as well. Soft, sweet with hint of vanilla and caramel is what I came up with. I'm hoping to plant a sapling in my garden or grow from seed. They're delicious!

sapote seeds are pretty big. that looks like a very young sapote. they taste funny. mature sapotes are big with big seeds and super sweet.

Peel it with a knife and eat it like an apple. The biterness was from inside of the soft seeds you broke when chopping it in half.

My job is the removal of feral cats across northern east Australia where these critters have become a MAJOR problem...They are also returning to a Lynx style animal much larger than the domestic version from which they come. If you cat still bothers you I can help... :)

You can’t judge the fruit by what you tasted was not ripe you must try a ripe one sweet with banana pear and some mango flavor you can get from south florida
