You guys try screaming for 30 minutes to an hour a day and see if it affects your voice. This is warp tour. It isn't just one show, they travel around and do shows all around the country. I know I couldn't do that shit. Props to Phil and Whitechapel

I am screaming for 3 hours a day (with breaks for 2-4 minutes). Yeah, my voice is kind of tired after a session, but it sounds pretty good anyway

Got to say the line up this is not bad at all. Id be stoked to see Whitechapel, Veil of Maya, Chelsea Grin and Bullet for my Valentine. Also wouldn't mind checking out like New found Glory, Sum 41 and a alot of Pop punk.

people are so quick to judge phil when his vocals arent like a certain other live show where he totally killed it, he still consistently does great live performances. Most bands use backing tracks for harmonies and over produced guitar parts, like Within The Ruins for example. Whitechapel doesn't need it honestly since they have three guitar players, but sometimes it's necessary!

Did Phil mess up his voice before the tour? I've seen them life and he sounded much better. Maybe it's the mic or mixing, but it sounds like he's cupping the mic

for really long outdoor tours most vocalists stick to only power fry/fry even if it isnt their primary technique(falsechording for phil) for the sake of vocal preservation because falsechords, more so lows, take a toll over time, especially live in a hot setting cause you wont have perfect technique like a studio recording where you are with someone who will correct your technique

I absolutely love the effect Glenn Fricker has had on the metal scene with his bullshit video on cupping the mic. "It sounds like he's cupping the mic" you can clearly SEE he's cupping the mic, just as he always has, just as is required for these types of vocals. It's been a part of extreme metal vocals for decades now and always will be.
