I sincerely appreciate this video. I grew up on a small family farm in Southern Illinois and we ate wild game & fish probably 1/3 of the time. FARMERS are the BEST keepers of the land 🙏

Been a long time since I had a venison meal. Good memories of hunts long gone by. I was never a good shot, but I got it done twice. Got in a scrap with a bear over a deer once - I won. Anyway, thanks for letting us in on your deer hunt. Every one will be memory.

Interesting to see how your hunt compares to our hunt near the Minnesota/Wisconsin border. I used to tease my grandpa that rather take one of his black angus in the pasture instead. Grandpa would point his finger at me and say, “Son, those are $3.00/lb!” Thanks for stirring those fun memories.

I drove up through Wisconsin/Minnesota on my way to Fargo a few weeks ago. I have never seen so many deer strikes/roadkill on the highway and plenty more live ones at the edge of the corn fields. You can't swing a dead cat around there without hitting a deer!

BRIAN.......I missed you and your song of the day. Figured you'd be out with the boys. Im my younger years at the wee age of 5 and 6 I'd be down in the apple trees sitting perfectly still with my Dad hunting deer. Great memories. ❤🇨🇦❄

He may be ‘embarrassing’ small, but he’ll be some good eating!! My husband used to hunt for bucks. Now he hunts exclusively for doe. He tries to get his deer on day one, early in the day before they’ve done any running. Wowzers!! That’s some great eating!! My mouth waters when I think of the backstrap!!

Gun season opened here today, I had to work. Got out at 3;30 and headed to my blind, was all set up before 4... a decent doe popped out of the woods right at sunset, I let her go though, she had a fawn following her. Then another popped out 10 minutes later, but it was right at the tree line and being a cloudy day to start it wasn't light enough to get a decent shot.

Congrats on your deer. It's the first day out here. We spent a good bit of the day getting the younger kids set in their blinds and hauling deer out of the field back to the cooler. It's always a lot of fun watching the kids get their first deer. The WONDERFUL wives ( and I mean that) were nice enough to have hot food all day as we came in and out of the field. We are having pizza tonight as we are cleaning and drying guns and trying to remember where we put all the radios. We were going to get take out delivery from Storla Station but we figured the delivery charges on pizza to Ohio would be a deal breaker. As always, nice video and have a great week!

We have a massive herd of deer on our local roads n they are causing havoc, but we don't really hunt here on Surfcoast Victoria, Australia. Congratulations on filling your tags. Two guys from North Dakota came down to South Dakota to go deer hunting and bagged a nice one..they started to drag it back to the truck and met a local boy and started to talk..after awhile the local boy said if you drag it by the head it drags easier because of the hair going the same direction..said thanks and started to drag it by the head..after about an hour the first North Dakotan said to his buddy..don’t think this is working..we’re just getting farther away from the truck.

Yes, in Iowa we have big critters. It’s been a long time since I hunted the parent’s farm. I have too small of a place in SD for a farm tag.

Have had a good run this year. 3 deer within 4 weeks. Have one more tag. Nice that the snow is coming finally. I am the only one of my buddies that hunt in pine trees. Lol. Its an old Christmas tree stand. Always deer movin when the weather comes through. Good hidin spot for them, and a great spot for me to get some adrenaline pumps goin. Still to this day after years of hunting get shaky and pumped right up. Call my wife and she tells me to shut up and gut the dang thing. Lol. Shes a keeper. A great hint i got from one of my buddies!!!! Paint a soccer ball dark colors and hang it in a window. The deer will get used to the silhouette being there so when you are, it isn't as bothered. Saw it about 4 months ago on a video I was watching on some big hunt out in Montana.

I’m chuckling because ‘back in the day’ my husband went for the big bucks, now he gets doe licenses, try’s to get his tags filled first day and before he deer have run so the meat is tender, no wild taste, and yummy!! Love deer season!

So like every farm family going hunting last thing you look for is the orange clothing which comes down to where you boxed it last spring or left it in a tractor or last vehicle when hot weather finally came.

@Sonne farms they make something to attach to your scope of your gun it is called a tatcacam it is a camera for hunting. It attaches to a gun scope. It shoots great video it goes to your phone as well

Those ubiquitous size jokes that won't go away, and now the deer. I never minded a smaller one, I had to gut and carry it back by myself. The fewer witnesses to poaching the better. Our main source of red meat was venison. At least this way you will run out of meat before you get tired of it. Good video. Pax.
