That's pretty good. We bought a couple larger units and they really put out the O3.

Like you said it should help! And I think I’m going to try smoking my clothes as well. There’s a lot of people that do it with great success. I love experimenting and tinkering with my scent routine so probably going to try smoking the clothes as well. If you do it, let me know your thoughts!

Yes and no, I have on one pair of my base layers. The elastic in the waste is gone on that one piece. But everything else is fine. So it's hard to say if it's because of the Ozone or because I've used it for 10 years.. I will say that over time Ozone will break done elastic so it's probably only a matter of time before I start to notice more items with the same issue.

Yeah I’m sure some of the air inside escapes either from the lid or from the hole I fed the hose into. It’s not 100% air tight.

Two things you need to make sure you watch out for when doing a deep clean. 1 - don't overfill the tote or the ozone might not get to everything. 2 - make sure the hose doesn't get buried for the same reason. For the most part I will put the unit on for about 10-15 minutes but if I really want to hit the gear hard then I'll set it for 30. I feel like I can really start to smell the ozone if I run it for a long time. And if we can smell it, so can the deer. They might not be threatened by it right now, but I don't want to give them any reason to think something is different in the woods.

I would just wash them after the season. The only times I really dry wash the clothes are when I’m going a few days away from my house and won’t be able to wash them. I think washing them with scent free detergent is best and the ozone machine is a good way to remove scent when you’re at deer camp.

yeah that's how much the unit I have puts out. I feel that's enough to decontaminate clothing in a tote. I also have a larger unit that I will occasionally run inside a closet. That one is overkill but if it's worth doin, it's worth over doin ;)

Great question. It kindve depends on how much O3 the unit puts out, how big of an area are you trying to decontaminate and if it’s a tote, how full is it.. for the tote in this video I run it for about 30 minutes when the tote is about half full. But you could run it for an hour and it wouldn’t hurt anything. If my tote was very full, I’d run the machine for 60 minutes to make sure it treated everything. Tip: The more free space you have in the tote, the easier the ozone will be able to move through and treat your gear. I also have a closet at our cabin that I hang clothes in and that gets treated with a more industrial sized ozone generator. That only gets run for 15 minutes because it puts out so much ozone. Mine has this as well. The product I bought wasn't made to decontaminate hunting gear, I think they advertise it to decontaminate food and water. The tube is nice because you can drill a hole in the tote and fit the hose through the hole to position it over the gear you wish to "clean".

@@whitetailevolution Cool. Yea I mounted my unit to the top/lid. There’s some plastic grids that I tucked the tube into so that clothes can’t block it off. Not sure if this will be better or worse than running it on the bottom or side but it made sense to me at the time lol.

Hey Donald, so I still use this and I store my gear in there after every hunt. I actually have 2. One for my base layers and one for my heavier gear. My base layers are just under armor and stuff like that, those get blasted with Ozone. I don't treat my jacket / pants as often because I am not 100% convinced that the deer don't notice it. I know it eliminates scent, but it also leaves an odor. I use scentlok for my outer gear and don't want to put the ozone scent on my scentlok. It's probably ok since scentlok sells ozone products but again I am not convinced deer don't smell it. So I treat my base layers each time, but my scentlock outer gear does not get treated every hunt. Shouldn't need to with the activated carbon anyways. The first year I made the mistake of jamming these bins too full and running the ozone, this made it so the ozone couldn't reach all of the clothes. make sure to leave about 20% of the bin empty, fluff the stuff up a bit just to make sure theres more air in between everything so the ozone has a better chance of working its way around. Other than that, I wouldn't do anything different. You could seal it tighter if you wanted but I don't know if that's just overkill..

So I notice the same thing and I’m sure everyone that uses ozone does as well. Even the ozonics units that are put in the tree with you put off that smell. Reminds me of chlorine. It goes away eventually but maybe dial back how long you have the clothes in there for.
