For me… once I realized that just because I reject all religion (and embrace logic and science) doesn’t mean there can’t be a “something” and I’m okay with not knowing.. it’s like a fish trying to explain water.. I highly recommend The Power of Now.. audio book is on KZfaq. It helped me learn how to be present without the inner chatter that has to define everything. ❤

A part two for Whitney would be so good, I actually can't believe how quick this interview felt which is a good signifier. I do watch her podcast and even still I'm coming away from this ep with SO many gold nuggets of wisdom. Growing up with alcy parents creates a very specific set of coping strategies (see: maladapted) and I'm honestly still struggling where that's concerned and I think she's actually helped me with those mantras to let go of a lot of things that really are the first thing on my mind when I wake up. I'm gonna have to spray paint them on my walls to remember (loud brain things) but crisis averted for yet another day!

This was absolutely fascinating. Always great listening to people dig into real conversation. It's always inspiring to hear people openly and shamelessly put their flaws on the table. When i came to faith in Christ a few years back, that's one of the first things that helped me to heal, was to talk about difficulties, admit short comings and flaws and repent them. If you can't live in you reality, you can't evolve. Don't ever stay silent! Thanks again for starting this channel!

I evolved out of some of this psychological trouble to become very strong, but it took a lot of work on my own self. I had to do a lot of reading first. Volumes and learned about the world. That set me off in the right direction. It worked after a while and some trial and error. I finally have arrived in a place where I'm really good at what I do and I am nobody's doormat. Not a people pleaser, but I do like to save my clients money if I can on my construction jobs and do nice things for people. I do these things out of the goodness of my heart not expecting anything in return. When I was growing up there was a lot of action. I grew up people pleasing. It led me down the direction Whitney was talking about right in the beginning. I had to conquer that fear. It is a panicky feeling. I'm not good enough in academics or I'm socially weak or whatever the criticism you have of yourself. I had all kinds, but I have two major league geniuses in my family. I knew I was not going to do what they did academically early on. Other people can sense it on you, but not unless you announce it. That hard work we do to dig out of a depressive thinking process, is a gift. I have knowledge about myself and I have exploited my skills having tested myself so much from this process. I am good with writing safety management plans and performing technical construction. I know what freaks me out too and I quietly protect myself from a reckless personality on a job. All I need is a heavy equipment operator not following the safety rules and my antennae goes up. I know when you have a bad attitude from surviving your trauma. I can sense your trauma on you too now. I could not do that when I was young and insecure. You get to know humans intimately when you examine yourself intimately. A life not examined is not a meaningful life. "The unexamined life is not worth living" Socrates. I am so blessed for having had to work so hard on myself.

47:24 Awesome point when we do drugs or when we indulge the self in selfish acts - we are trying to be present but using a crutch to fake real presence. Which is finding your true self. Which is the real real hard work to do in life.

the only way to teach your kids something is by doing it, or being that. so if you want them to not be anxious then fix your anxiety. doesn't matter if you're a helpful parent in all the right ways-they'll appreciate you for that, so it's not nothing-but they'll still inherit your mental stuff as well.

The comedians that would be great on this podcast - Bert Kreischer (he is never serious about his problems and I think it could actually do good for him) - Duncan Trussell (this would be a great and deep episode) - Brendan Schaub (if he is actually a comedian is up to interpretation - I think if he let his ego fall for an hour it could actually help is career)

I've had greyhounds my entire life, and I know dogs with impulse problems and high prey drives. Whitney is talking nonsense, you should never use pain to teach a dog. If the dog is running into traffic, you keep it on a lead. She's so close - you need to protect them yes, but that is not the way. I've also worked with farm animals for decades now, so I'd like to think I have some knowledge about this issue. Dogs were never our slaves, they were bred to work alongside us. Don't shock your dog, just learn the right way to manage and train them folks.

The energy of the dragon is an amazing tool that all have hidden inside us, it´s waiting to be awakened, and it can be used both physical and emotional . 🧑‍🔬 🐉🐲🔥Dragon Reiki focuses on healing and caring for the spirit, because of the belief is that if the spirit is in harmony and at peace, only then we can begin to heal ourselves on the outside. It teaches us that our bodies are naturally destined to heal themselves if our spirits are balanced and nourished.

All these things about pecking order, animal instincts, feeling fear makes the animal have anxiety. We still have all these animalistic tendencies and we think were Super evolved, but at subconscious level we constantly still do them. Don't do pecking order anymore? Go into a prison as a new inmate and you'll find your place or a new member in a military squad. Evolved humans have only been around for a few million years, sounds like a lot, but earth is 100s millions old with life on it. It's a very short time we were just upright monkies living mostly likely in trees and caves. We try and avoid the fact were still animals/primates but those ancient Gene's and proto brains are apart of us. Until we evolve into cyborgs living in the internet..give us a few hundred years
