@@deronreed2945 that's ridiculous. Clive Davis did not work her to death. Whitney died from complications from a lifetime of substance abuse starting in her teens. Drug use, sadly, that likely came about to cope with the sexual abuse she and her brothers endured at the hands of a cousin.

Saying it’s effortless doesn’t only create a picture of a fake reality but takes away from her hard work. Singing is half technique, half emotion and passion. Both something that needs a lot of strength. I can promise you she worked hard, on learning and practicing techniques & for her muscles and body to support her vocals and she worked just as hard on her emotional strength. I simply adore her
@dellenter4 Жыл бұрын
Totally agree with you. We all have talents, however you have to work hard to perfect it. Her momma did a great job in training her and Whitney 's desire to master her craft made her the voice.
@I-AM-BELIEVER Жыл бұрын
Whitney didn’t really work out much, aside from swimming. I believe had she focused more on working out and cut the smoking she would’ve sounded 10 times better. Don’t get me wrong she sounds super super amazing here. However, by this point her personal lifestyle was starting to affect her around this era. It was the beginning. By the time she became pregnant her voice would deepen a little.

For me, it isn’t about the technique proficiency or the arsenal of notes used; it is how she creatively can alter a melody spontaneously like she did there. The fact that you can not hear the note proves she applied resonance to her voice to create a big sound; Unlike singers like Jennifer Hudson, Christina Aguilera, and many others, who use volume and little to no resonance to their voice. That is exactly why you can hear other singers who pull away from the microphone, and not hear singers who create a resonant sound. That is why Whitney always sung directly into the microphone. A resonant voice will always sound bigger than a unresonat voice.
@asiajackson15507 жыл бұрын

@JesusISdaonlyway Жыл бұрын
Great explanation! So she got multiple times the overall sound others strive for, with less effort, by letting resonance do the magnifying work and not the sheer force of volume. This also makes sense as to why her voice also had a crystal clear quality. Smh.. wow. Yet another example to show how brilliant a vocalist she was.

I have come to realize that many with addiction are doing the best they can with what they have and know...but it's what they have and know which needs improvement. The brain can be "off" prior to drug abuse and addiction (for several reasons), and we sometimes don't recognize this enough. (Some people have not developed many healthy coping skills - and need help with this.) For me, her talent and huge heart - and the fact that she had the desire to overcome stay with me.
