Quant developers are the software developers who work in quantitative finance. They do not develop algorithms but implement the models/algos. They are more of programmers and less of quant analysts. However, they are expected to have high level understanding of Quant finance.

What do you think the job market is in London? Is it a bit more flat nowadays, or are Quant Developers as demmanded as before?

The job market is bit flat in 2023 due to slowdown but quant developers are still demand (especially in banks) thanks to regulatory pressure to build and implement the quant/risk models asap.

65 Lakhs? That is just a tad over $100K in U.S. dollars, which is actually a very low salary. Even as a senior software engineer, I've made over $200K a year. I have seen jobs advertised in the Finance industry where they are paying $600K per year, or even higher! Now, THAT is high salary. Anything between $100K and $200K is just standard software developer pay.
