One thing that’s really cool is that offensive bias is helping you throughout the story. When the weapon and chief were trying to find option B, A spire sends a beacon so that chief can see. Another time is when the weapon said in the final boss fight that something is helping her and of course the portal teleports them to the desert. My best guess is that the desert is where the endless is buried. Wouldn’t it be the first time for forerunners to bury something in the desert

I really hope the next Halo game is rated M so the endless (or flood) can be as horrific (and portrayed as such) as the lore says they are. I wanna see it lean back into the horror and blood once the flood is re introduced. And on that note I really hope the endless aren’t just some robot things, that’d ruin the whole build up and everything.

I’ve read all the books and there is so much we don’t know at the end of this game. It’s like they are “rebooting” and creating all this new lore. Hopefully they connect it back to primordials and other lore and don’t just blaze a whole new path.

I didn’t realize until today that you get more audio when you discover those that show up in your database. It gives a TON of context. #6 Despondent Pyre says she has learned the forerunners greatest fear was never the flood, it was always losing power. The fear of a master who would become a slave. So the endless must have been more evolved or a threat to the mantle of responsibility in more ways than humanity. #7 she says the runes made by the endless says “enemy within”. Time moves forward, and back again. Now I see rings inside of rings, great circles of everlasting. Without beginning or end. Endless. #5 she says the relics contain a warning. This ring, a constant loop. Are we fated to repeat the sins of the past. So that sounds a lot like a connection to the precursors. A species that are essentially like gods. They have no beginning or end because time for them acts like a loop. This might also prove the time loop theory, where life is doomed to extinction and then be reborn again continuously just like the precursors wanted. Also, the endless were scared of something. Not only does it mention that in these reports but so does the quote from the legendary ending “they think we are here to help” implying the endless had asked the forerunners for help with something. Maybe the endless are connected to precursors, or maybe they are connected to another precursor-like species from a totally different galaxy. The precursors originally were just another alien race who became so intelligent that they learned how to create life, but they are not the original creators of life.

I would love to see a campaign exclusive horror survival "spinoff" from 343 that dives into the floods beginning and does justice to the horrors and gore that they leave behind. I just want to experience halo with some shock value, Halo 3's floodgate mission was incredible, probably one of my favorites in the series. To see something like that but more in your face would be fantastic.

My question/questions: Was the Harbinger a separate species from whatever the Endless are? Her Cyclix looks different from the Endless one's at the end of the game. I see conflicting opinions by youtubers. Didnt she say she wanted to release/free her people in some dialogue? Does she mean the Endless? And if so wouldnt that make her a Endless or maybe the Endless with their time warping ability could bring back her people. Idk. Either way I love seeing new alien species and variants added into the game as the galaxy is huge and I believe game world spans mostly in a portion of the orion arm so where are the other aliens?

11:14 I don't believe they are precursors. The harbinger stated that they will ascend implies that they were in a below as a species as opposed to the top which is represented as the precursors. I think it's a more probable that the endless were another species up for the mantle but were previously considered a non-threat until the forerunners discovered they could survive the firing of the rings. This would leave them in a state where they have free reign of the galaxy for eons and if left unchecked could surpass the forerunners. Essentially, having a head start compared to other species being seeded across the galaxy. This would undermine the forerunners plans. All of the forerunner's efforts and sacrifices would be in vain.

The are an off-shoot of the Precursors. People forget that there several species of Precursors that devolved or evolved differently.

You can actually find a hologram of harbingers stylix before it was opened at a banished encampment. It’s different from the ones seen on the legendary ending. This tells me harbinger is more of a tool the endless used and then got rid of once her usefulness met it’s end.

My theory: “they’re here to help” stuck with me as did what’s scarier than the Flood (something that can control the Flood). The Endless are an evolved form of the Precursors. They didn’t fully know it, when they survived the rings blast (takes place 77 years after the ring was fired and Offensive Bias won the war), Forerunners find them (un-catalogued race) and the Endless learn about the Flood and even their connection to the Flood (but not what the Forerunners did to the Precursors). So they come to the Forerunners thinking they are going to help permanently end the Flood, the Forerunners put them on trial for the Flood’s crimes, and then lock them away for eternity. Man, could you imagine if, within themselves, The Endless subconsciously are every bit as evil as the Flood? Only they can enslave AIs and races with sheer thought? And are nearly impossible to kill, with this ability to manipulate time around them. Immortal beings like that would be terrifying. The forerunners imprison them, hoping they are forgotten. “Something is helping me” offensive bias is alive and was helping the weapon. Perhaps he combines with what’s left of mendicant bias. Perhaps Atriox becomes a good guy. And the Endless call on planet sized Flood to begin a full scale invasion of the entire galaxy. Just some thoughts

Here is my latest endless theory and I think I’m gonna stick with this until we get new information. So before the precursors “died” they wanted the ancient humans to take the mantle. Well after the humans were devolved, mostly all the precursors died and then the forerunners died, the mantle was lost and no one has reclaimed it. As of the time in infinite, humans as still not evolved enough to take the mantle. So someone found out about the endless and realized they might be the only species left who could possibly take on the mantle in this time, and destroy the flood. No where in the story so far shows that the endless are bad in anyway. The forerunners only locked them away because they were afraid they would lose their own power to them. The harbinger even says they are not your enemy. So it makes me think, maybe the endless SHOULD take the mantle. Maybe they could be the ones to stop the flood. They could potentially be an ALLY against the flood. So if the theory of the endless being another precursor form is correct, it would be a precursor vs precursor war. I am convinced now that the endless are a precursor form because in one of the audio logs the harbinger says the exact line word for word as the gravemind did in halo 3. Those kinds of things are not coincidence in halo lore. Cortana did say the endless were worse than the flood, but I wonder who told her that? The gravemind? Offensive bias or another forerunner AI? How could she have heard their side of the story? There’s no way she could’ve. Even the forerunner monitors don’t know much about them, only that they must be contained. The only being who could truly know about them would be gravemind, but as far as we know he is corrupted.

I think that the endless may not be precursors themselves but may have been Created by the surviving precursors to help wipe out the forerunners since there are very few precursors left

A neat point, the Precursors had chosen ancient humanity for the mantle, not the forerunner fiddled with form we currently are in lore. Could be an ancient vs modern human showdown on the horizon.

I hypothesise that the endless were beings that evolved separately from everyone else and with no help via precursors. The evolved a whole different level and spectrum of sentience aswell as life making them immune. Perhaps something akin to cosmic entities.

As somebody who has yet to read the books, something that has always confused me is how supposedly the precursors chose humanity to carry the mantle. Now that the precursors are back in various ways, why are they fuckin with the humans?

I just hope 343 chill with adding new factions. The prometheans sucked because they could establish actual combat roles for them while making them fun to fight.

I definitely find the resemblance between the head shape & structure of the primordial & the harbinger / endless to be quite striking, & likely relevant.

I think in Halo infinite they used the word infinite because I think they're just going to keep adding DLCs to this game. If you think about it what happened in the game only happened in a very small section of the Halo ring. It would actually kind of be a game changer. Release one game and then just keep adding massive DLCs instead of the next game.

Who are the ENDLESS in #HaloInfinite? One of the biggest mysteries within the #HaloInfinitecampaign currently! Well, in this video I broke everything you need to know down, and went over some older #Halo that links to the Endless!

I look at it like this... Previous lore indicated that firing a Halo ring doesn't destroy the flood, it destroys their food source. The flood are defective precursor forms. Who else could not be destroyed by a Halo ring firing? The Endless. Not to far from there to piece together that the great forerunner "lie" could be that they found more precursors after firing the ring and imprisoned them, telling the monitors that this is a new species when, in fact, they were the ones who created the forerunners.

The Flood's a very interesting design to me, almost a new stage of evolution and unity where war, racism, poverty and so many other issues become non-existent because the flood unifies them, however to do it, it has to brutally murder them and break them down, stripping them of free will. It's all super interesting, reminds me of the church of the husk from Barotrauma. What's scary is, you can't.. beat the flood. It's impossible, they went into hiding at somepoint, and other precursors also corrupted in alternate galaxies when fleeing, so the flood could be out there anywhere, having infected species in other galaxies, just waiting on the move to take over the Milky Way. I'm very interested in all of this, especially to see how it involves the Monitor known as The Warden. (I haven't looked into the books or comics recently but as far as I can remember, the monitor went into hiding with the Masterbuilder)

To be fair, having the Mantle of Responsibility wouldn't make sense without threats to protect the galaxy from in the first place.

I assumed the Endless were a creation of the Precursors, when they were created is up for debate but what makes them such a threat isn't the Endless themselves but the potential Flood forms that merge with them. A Gravemind that can (possibly) survive the Halo arrays is the ultimate threat.

This might be wild but here’s my shot: in the DC series, the Endless are entities that have existed before the creation of time itself, each one controlling different aspects that guide all forms of sentient life in their endeavors through life. In the sense of trying to capture and control them like one particular society attempted in the beginning of Sandman can have incredibly disastrous consequences, more so than even the Flood present. I’m assuming the Forerunners captured them in an attempt to control them much like the society tried in Sandman so now they’re bringing their sense of judgment. It’s wild but that’s my theory on the Endless in this universe

I might have missed it but I don’t remember it saying anywhere that the precursors were gonna wipe out the forerunners. They just choose humanity over the forerunners for the mantle.

I really like this theory and it would be very interesting if that's the route 343 chooses to go. The only issue with the theory is that precursors are highly sensitive to the Halos effects, and when they where fired it even wiped out their structures and damaged the domain which is precursor and repurposed by the forerunners

Why would Atriox free the Endless though? Surely he sees that the Harbinger was using the Banished and that would be counterintuitive to his own plans for them.

Here’s my thought. The endless have the same role as the forerunner but in a different galaxy, being there galaxy’s holders of the mantle who voyaged shortly after the commotion of halo firing and were locked up by the forerunners and if freed will attempt to recommunicate with there civilization and provoke an extragalactic invasion somewhat similar to the youzon vong in Star Wars.

My feeling regarding the Endless is that they are not Precursors but rather may have been created by them, after all we were able to kill the Harbinger. Maybe the Endless were the Precursors failsafe, much like Halo was the Forerunners. Time seems to be a significant element that defines this race and the fact they could survive Halos pulse maybe a consequence of this. The Precursors created many races and creatures so it is not beyond reason that they may have created servants to clean up their mess.

I have a theory. The pre cursors choose humanity as the inheritor of the mantle but it was originally for the forerunners. Pans change. The harbinger does say that humanity was meant for the mantle but the plan has changed. What if a precursor race has decided that their species is the mantle holders.

The are the endless, the scholars of neural physics and the basis for a lot of the most advanced forerunner technology, they are the precursors. (and oh right, "worse than the flood" is basically from a forerunner perspective, as the forerunners feared the precursors after the former slaughtered almost every one of the latter named species, and no, the precursors was not "planning to wipe" the forerunners out, that was just how the forerunners justified their genocide, with a lie which was then covered up and largely forgotten for almost 10 million years)

what if the endless do become enemies to the banished and the humans? do atriox and chief become the brothers of destruction? (based on what i’ve been able to gather i doubt it) atriox is by far one of my favourite characters in the franchise as a whole. he’s not exactly evil just stands on his beliefs albeit being depicted as a villain. even when you hear other banished niggas talk; specifically elites and the brutes, it seems as though honour is their greatest value. i only ever played the games since i was a kid and never got into the novels so i have been watching a lot of videos such as these. appreciate all of your guys insights in the comments as well. quite honestly i have no idea which direction they’re gonna go in but i’m heavily interested. much love to y’all, i’m glad to be apart of the halo community

If 343 told Chief he is Forerunner descendant which is even confirmed by the Librarian, then why did the Harbinger state that "We are not enemies"? Also I believe the Endless are a faction of Precursor it makes sense when u combine lore with theory. But who was that Ape at the ended? It wasn't Atriox & he dead look like Solomon Grondy so was he a brute that found the Truth & sided with the precursor rebelling against his Brute race or is he a entire different race? If the the Endless was in Stasis capsule is that same as the Celix that we've seen in the game? Last thing, I want to see Master Chief Evolve his armour into Unique Forerunner armour in order to stop the Endless. Like a super Sayain final form fighting one of a precursors as a boss fight. We need to discover more of Chiefs abilities that the Librarian unlocked. It's very important they bring this back into the game for Halo 7.

Perhaps the Forerunners imprisoned the Endless because the latter may indeed be [related to] the Precursors. After all, the Grand Edict did say that the Forerunners must preserve "their truth." After all, the Forerunners killed the Precursors (how did they even accomplish that?) through genocide and then lied that the Precursors granted the Forerunners the Mantle of Responsibility, before the Precursors "peacefully passed away." To digress, the Precursors actually chose humanity over the Forerunners to assume the Mantle. Also, I don't think the Precursors were caught unaware. Perhaps they allowed the Forerunners to destroy their physical forms and allow the Forerunners' hubris to grow, so they may catch them off guard when they were least prepared.

I've been considering what makes them "endless." why give themselves this name if they were already Xalanyn? Then i saw the video about the harbinger movement being very similar to the Prometheans. So, it made me wonder what if the endless are endless becasue they are commposed. The process was orignially intended to be a way to save the forerunners and make them imune to flood infection. The forerunners were unable to successfully recover anyone who was composed except to create the prometheans. What if the Xalanyn could be successfully restored. This would make the most sense, so far, as to why they are somehow more dangerous than the flood. They would be safe from flood infection, able to restore themselves and fully able to take advantage of all their advanced technology to take control of the galaxy. In this scenario they would need to be imprisoned to prevent their takeover. I understand your idea as to how/why they might be precursor. i think everyone wants the precursors to somehow become a part of the modern story and reveal all sort of secrets about their history and the history of the forerunners. HOwever, I think its probably a simpler solution that they really are just another species.

343 did a good job in making Halo "mysterious" again.

The halo pulse did affect the endless. Their planet's other life was decimated and possibly the endless did suffer some form of being affected. Why? The audio logs state they thought the forerunners were there to help. They were said to have survived the pulse not be unaffected by it. Still that would represent a threat to the forerunners plans and made them look inferior along side the endless. they had to be contained but if the flood managed to get them then the halos would be useless against the flood. The Harbingers bio design looks stupid and her flying monkey squids.

Harbinger has a different looking cylix than the endless. As far as i know, after the rings went off back in the day, they came to reseed and found the endless just chilling on thier planet, which zeta halo has been moved to nearby, possibly twice which explains why no one in the game knows where the hell zeta halo is in space. So Halo cant kill the endless, and no one knows if the flood can use them in any way (there are flood forms on zeta for sure) the forerunners had a parley with representatives of the endless, and i think the harbinger is that representative, different race the endless might be like an alliance or covenant, but the actual endless individuals? They might be something like a precursor or flood form that can assume many shapes. flood evolve right? what if the endless are a super evolved form of flood, but more technological and less squishy and bitey, more like the borg. Does the harbinger ever say The Endless is more than one entity? Or is she just referencing a single entity? The only evidence I've seen that the endless are more than one thing is the ending with the cylixs.
