One of the things that I think sets Gears apart, especially the first game, is its simplicity and almost minimalist approach to gameplay. Often with other games I find myself having to manage inventory and resources, struggle to learn the right control scheme and sometimes wind up stuck and unable to advance because of some jump I can't time right or some boss I'm too ill-equipped to beat. Gears does away with all that and boils the gameplay down to the bear essentials - health regenerates so you're not scrambling to heal in the middle of combat, there's only 4 inventory slots so you're not constantly shuffling your items around, movement is fluid while also allowing you a wide range of view to really take in the environments. While other games try to cram in as much stuff as possible, Gears keeps it simple so you're always engaged. Not sure who, but a developer once said something like "you know you've made a great game not when you can't add anything more, but when you can't take anything else away." That's Gears for me.

I enjoyed the campaign of GoW4 despite the convoluted story, crap new characters, stupid robots and the "poor man's Locust" aka The Swarm, it played like a Gears game and was pretty fun. The online with friends was great fun, all the OG characters they put in, played so much Horde mode & King of the hill, no where near as good as GoW3 though. Didn't even finish the story for Gears5, complete rubbish and gameplay was so boring, got to the Matriarch boss fight & it would glitch out, Del would get stuck & eat shit every time. Also they changed Horde mode to be complete shit and added player models from other franchises, like Halo & Terminator Genesis, Why would I want to play as a 3rd rate Terminator character in a 2nd rate Gears game?! Glad I didn't pay full price for these games.

How are you supposed to clear this up if you weren't part of the development process? It doesn't get cleared up if you're guessing...

I agree 100% but I give it a 5/10 because of the weakness of everything else you didn’t talk about. The gear and weapons were terrible and the silver was basically useless. Making all of the collectables and chests useless.

It definitely felt a lot like the old games but could have been so much more. It should have just been a Valhalla DLC. I could have done without the improved parkour mechanics, that this game had. It fell so short, it would have been better off as a DLC for Valhalla.

I didn’t have PlayStation and I never played assassin‘s Creed in the past even though I had friends that did and heard nothing but good reviews. A couple years ago I ended up getting the Ezio trilogy and it was amazing. Then I played Valhalla, which didn’t feel anything like the trilogy, but was a very good game. I did almost everything and my save game was something like 450 hours. The parkour and the fighting were trash and a lot of the tasks were very repetitive. Then I played mirage. I did absolutely everything and my save game was 35 hours. The parkour mechanics were a lot smoother, which was nice compared to Valhalla, but that was it. The fighting was boring and halfway through. I realized the game was almost over. They could have done a lot more with the round city and Alamoot. The round city could’ve had five more bosses and more playtime. The gear and gear options were a joke. And everything you said.

When you think about it, eventually all of humanity across ALL version will eventually become starborn, humanity will become gods and eventually destroy them selves through war, its a vicious cylce that will repeat it self through out time and space.

The reason they showed us Cere healing herself without BD1 and all the Darkside hints at the end is because Merrin and BD1 will die in the next game and he will have to heal himself using the force like Cere after the death of Merrin drives him to the dark side.

lol. People hoped for Gears of War 6? I hope they abandon it.

when gears e day was announced i was excited well i am still excited because we are getting a new third person gears game of course but after a couple of days i started questioning myself why a prequal, i mean i get it that the new games were a bit divided with fans, personally i do like gears 5 so i was thinking and everyone else that they will continue with gears 6 but we are getting gears e day, hope the devs can pull it off while still feeling like a modern gears game like they said i believe.

They were already really close - it's just that Carlos and Marcus were the same age (2 years older than Dom). They were together when Marcus found out his mother was missing.

I wish they would make some prequels like the pendulum Wars they had talked about in the game.

Genuine question .. did you put many hours in GOW1? For me personally GOW2 was an overall disappointment, there were elements of the story that were good, but this is mainly coming from a multiplayer perspective. Day 1 the servers were wrecked for ages making the game unplayable On top of that the loss of horror and realism was a massive disappointment with the graphics and colour palette looking cartooney, with Cliffy B even stating they lost their identity as the series went on.

I only clicked this video to say that you're Cal has a bad haicut. And yeah next gamemarrin will probably die or be close to death and then Cal is pushed more to the dark side that's the only thing we know will happen

I agree, a definite 10/10 for me as well. This game perfectly conveys the feeling of an ordinary man faced with extraordinary circumstances and in the end, making the ultimate sacrifice for the sake of the world and the ones he loves. A true HERO in every sense of the word, and my FAVORITE game of 2024 so far! Hopefully, future DLC will explore any investigation into the aftermath which would be extremely cool to play.

I recently went back to Gears 5 haven’t plaid since launch because the game just did t feel like gears. Everything in general but now years later i have a pc and let me tell you guys if you have game pass or get a good deal on it, it’s definitely worth it. they definitely tried fixing Gears 5 and you can tell and I’ve been having a blast on horde and MP

I would love to see Kate do a Daenerys Targaryen at the end of Gears 6 and become the new locust queen! She has been running from her fate the entire second trilogy and I think it would be incredibly ominous for the series if she were consumed by it. I would also think that Marcus could perform a hero’s sacrifice to add gravitas and emotion to the story. JD would carry the Fenix mantle into the next era.

It's set in 1975 not 1995. Great experience, short but sweet game. I'm a huge fan of John Carpenters The Thing and lovecraftian eldritch horrors, the setting of this game was really great too, although did get slightly annoying at time when Caz has to do everything, but I think for games like this it's necessary.

You didn't mention which correct dialogue option to choose to get all these dark magic

Looking back at the original 3 games the funniest thing that I didn’t realize until now as an adult is that the cog are fighting for humanities race there on the verge of extinct and they still treat it like the normal military holding orders keeping secrets and having clearance on certain aspects.idk why but I just find that so funny
