Did you know that Mauritius is the only country in Africa with Hinduism as the main religion (52%)? Moreover, did you know that nearly everyone here can speak a minimum of 3 languages FLUENTLY?
The humble people of Mauritius, all 1.2 million of them, are as diverse as I've seen in any single country. And that's because there is no indigenous population here -- every Mauritian today is a descendant from immigrants who came here centuries ago, mostly from India, France, Great Britain, East Africa (Madagascar) and China.
As a result, Mauritius is a melting pot of cultures, foods, religions, languages and ideas -- which is extra special for me because I love to dig deep into the local life! In today's video, see what I have discovered about the beautiful people of Mauritius.
I can't wait to explore more about this lovely island! Have you ever been here before? It's extremely underrated!
Special Thanks to Mauritius Tourism for inviting us, and to Solana Beach Mauritius for hosting us!

I'm Mauritian and my origins are Malaysian, African, French and Indian. My relatives consist of Muslims, Christians (Euro-, Afro- and baptized Buddhist Sino-) Mauritians and Hindus. One of my mates is a Belgian Jew who's now married to a Mauritian sister and he loves Mauritius just like you do. I speak Creole, English, French, Hindi / Urdu, Arabic, a bit of German and look forward to learning more languages including Hebrew. Thank you for showing our multiracial culture and tradition to the world. "Beloved country may God bless thee!" Forever! Salutations to you and of course my lovely Mauritian people!

I came here to see the people of the muritians and it's actually my first time hearing that name. I heard it from a Nigerian guy who traveled by back from London to Nigeria and getting to muritian it was difficult for him. So I decided to come see the people here and behold they are beautiful people. Thanks drew.

Only difference I think is in TandT there are more blacks, like Africans and central Americans. Apart from that I looked up on it and it's weird how similar it is to mauritius, almost as if repetitions in the make up of a country occur really often.
