Humor was on point as always. With a bit of work both the Cawdor Redemptionists and Delaque Gang from Necromunda could also make a great bases for Slaugth. Especially if someone wants to make a Slaught army (which is giving me ideas.)

The use of wizard bodies, give the worm treatment, has me thinking they'd work well in Mordheim or Frostgrave. The "Worm Wizards" acting as spellcasters or warband leaders, while their troops can be people controlled by worms jutting from their bodies. Much like the "Spawn of Kyuss" from D&D. Models that work well for this are zombies, as they're already partially eaten and full of holes. A similar treatment can be applied to more heavily armored models, to portray either more worm-zombies, or as more masses of worms (just better armed and armored). In a low-tech setting, you might replicate the flesh-metal automatons by grafting flesh to rusting medieval farming implements. Plows, cart wheels, wheelbarrows, and scythes. Use them as some horrific brute unit.

The art you referenced comes from the 4th edition DnD start spawn(i think), damn 4th ed makes me nostalgic lmao... I only sculpted greenstuff hair and cloaks (flayed skin) thus far, but i think i'll give sculpting my BBEGs from my campaign a try. Absolutely great work!

Thanks to you and some rules I found on Reddit, I have been building a kill team of the Slaugth. Using the worm noodle method has been really relaxing and the hooded wizards I've been 3d printing have been fun to find. I doubt anyone will have a Warband like this and I'd love to see GW support the lesser-discussed xenos.

Really interesting, I love the look of these. Really "Grimdark" as they say. Big fan of the body horror aspect, you usually only get that with chaos or Tyranids.

I like to think GW named these guys as a nod to the town of Slough in England, the denizens of which i too call the Maggot men

i fucking love the Slaugth; learned about them in Dark Heresy rpg and yah. They are just one of the best xenos out there. Wish we got some more on the monsters in the Ghoul Stars, like the Cythor Fiends or what exactly the star-spawned plague was. Perhaps it was the Saruthi?

I had to sub bc the lore explanations and great miniature work. I myself prefer making what I buy look like something you can’t buy. I don’t want anything I have in my 40k minis to look like anyone others. While I just build without respect to lore or fake rules I find videos like this great. My armies require a sort of acceptance from the other player to be played as I’ll use them, normally astra militarum which I’ve used tons of 3rd party parts and other armies, Genestealers and Adeptus Mexhanicus, both heavily kit bashed to make them fit with a guard army. I use 3rd party parts more for either an extra body, using 40k heads and arms, or for their heads and using arms to kitbash. I’ve got 5 prisoners fighting for the imperium using Cadian, catachan and bashed 3rd party parts to look, definitely after painted, as what I want. I even have a 30k DOOM guy. I love being able to design what I want.

I think the torso on the sculpted one needed to be bulked out more. I've noticed in a few videos you tend to do very 'flat' torsos, adding some more roundness to the torso might help with the robes, even in the art the Slaugth have a bit more bulk to them.

Army wise, they'd probably fit in best with the dark eldar, You could find a suitable place in the court of the archon or Homunculi for the slaugth and proxy the warriors in as grotesques, maybe a meatier construct as a talos.

These are some brilliant minis mate! Really love the maggotty detail especially, and the hooked tendril technique for the warrior is particularly inspired. these were all great models! the scratchbuilt one is a very good rendition of that art piece, and those constructs are really imposing! (You could probably make an entire tzeentch daemons army using that floating pillar idea!)
