The pose, like he’s wading through a see of enemies non-chalantly, without a care cause “that’s what I do”….is actually so brilliantly menacing. What a fantastic idea with the club too. Also, exceptional freehand of the honor marks. (Not exile, they’re proud of what they represent!). Although I’m not a huge fan of all the trendy, mainstream chapters, I’d def most likely start here w the Sharkies. Although I’m just a big, white boy, I lived in Hawaii for a while and lived with a Tongan family for a couple years. I love the tattoo tradition of the Polynesian cultures. All 8 of the main pac island cultures have similar, yet unique styles that represent their home countries and it’s awesome to give them a nod here! 💪🏼

Your explanation of Moko was good, bonus points for noting the difference between them and other tattoos, which a lot of people seem to miss. Some people might whine about the pronunciation, but it's better than most, especially since it's largely just an accent thing.

Well done! If I ever get back into painting again I think this will be how I go about painting up my new sharks. Back in 7th ed. I had a space marine army and even Tyberos. I could not paint Grey on Grey and gave up and the army finally got sold years ago. One day I might come back and make a KT or something for the Sharks and this will be how I go about it!

As a collector & converter, I was looking forward to nid stuff and you did a great job on the structures on the inner side of the flesh shield, very sick. I am not even mad about vents/gills as I've said I'd be! The carapace colour is also very nice green shade, which resonates with me since my scheme is green too. Very nice muted almost khaki colour going into more vibrant, fresh greens. Good going! The rest of the submissions were super nice too.

The Imperial Guard Regiment Prepared for another attack of the speeding Goff mixend with the racers of those red stingers motorbikes led by Ork boss katang. That reving produced mass clouds of black smoke which excited the ork racer boys . Really its where the assault using fast vehicles was perfected to this design and the Goffs racer Clan. So those checkered of black and white were the bikers of Groin Smasher the favourite of Goff leader Iron jaws Snot gobble his gretchen were busy putting adamantium plates where steel ones had been holed by the cherry beams from the Newly arrived Imperial guard Black Jackets Regiment while those in pale grey uniforms with old rifles fired far to early. That sound of bullets ricocheted into gretchen who failed to rise again but all's fair in blood and Goffs winning! The roar of the bosses surrounding big boss seated in his war waggon ment race into the Cathedral district was on. A tight square of black jackets fired only when Captain Munro said so. Bishop Delaney stood in the centre of this square next to the Captain awaiting death the remote drone cherubs flew above singing like high voices choir the square now firing cherry beams of mk13 lasers yet again while the planetary defence hid in buildings along the highway that surround the race that drove up Gloriarna street to highway thirty three. Everyone jumped at the sudden thundering explosion that came from above as granades were thrown into the Orks then through low whisky clouds twenty Astartes marines came flying in on holy flames emitted from jet packs as the only visible chapter markings of crossed swords of this unknown chapter but praise the Emperor someone had heard that plea for help. One marine landed in the guard defensive square "I'm Signifier Achilles when the thunderhawks come through the clouds retreat into the Cathedral Captain and you holy man dont walk run!. With a burst of flame the cherubs were smashed on the marines pauldron's as he rocketed into that smokey air ! A engraved servo-skull came of the SIGNIFIERS armour! It remained counting down until victory in the shape of the Emperors marines flew down to land on the grass garden belonging to the Cathedral. Marines were firing on full automatic throwing ammunition into the speeding Orks who lost control crashing off the raised highway into infinity and destroyed in burning balls of flames in the rocky desert that covered most of the planet. Ten Astartes marines were marching from the government buildings sheilds forward and chain swords at high speeds cutting into the crowds of Orks whose cheering had gone turning into roars of hatred for the big humies one figure 'Centurion' Xander Ra gave orders for the sheild marines formed a faultless move into arrow head with the Centurion the tip of the marching arrow head behind rhinos tracked vehicles opened fire as more Primaris marines took positions with heavy weapons everything from heavy bolters to missile launchers as the nob bosses covered in black armour marched then burst into a mob of mixed Orks towards the arrow head formation . Mec boys the Orks whipping gretchen to get to work on the vehicles that had been hit by explosions that wrecked their drivers riddled with bolter rounds where was the big boss his truck had started to drive straight at the marines with a symbol of crossed purple swords. Behind the arrow head another such shape that stepped forward into the shape as the bosses truck was three hundred paces suddenly Incinerators opened up with cleansing holy flame which melted the iron engine cover then Orks fired from the back of the truck falling one two three of the mixture of marines. As assault Astartes dropped from above with fragmentation granades then a Sargent Adonis took a granade from his belt it was painted scarlet which he threw behind the shooting assault jet packers led by signifier Achilles ! This granade had finished much of the Orks tribal leaders whose will to fight followed the twisting bright light leading into blackness! As the void granade sucked the big boss whose banners were burning bilowing smoke suddenly twisted turned as were boss Orks head off his neck with an audible snap ! A deep voice shouted victory will be ours now I follow the reason why we came to Tyrol Prime prepare ! Kill every Ork no contamination as one order of the Emperors Astartes we his never caring of the people only victory is our way we win by total war we are the "Knights Unyielding" signifier Achilles prepare for our assault into the Cathedral in the Emperors name kill civilians if they stand with the guilty Through the Cathedrals thick walls and doors a voice was heard "Bishop Delaney you are guilty of crimes against the people of Tyrol Prime in the system NAVARNA-PLEXUS this is the order of Inquisition Inquisitor Rostov Verbinski!" Inside the Cathedral the Bishop started to back away from Captain Munro who simply said Blood for my god and any blood belongs to him ! The huge doors suddenly burst open Centurion Xander Ra stood aiming a plasma pistol at the Bishops chest ,"what's it to be traitor ,the civilians whose lives had been unsafe here inside which had been the Bishops trap but things had changed but the civilian crowed shouted loudly hang him but one figure in expensive clothes spoke above the people. I'm Inquisitor Rostov Verbinski you are the prisoner this day involved with Heresy Traitors and I have the legal right to elicit your sentence. Rostov nodded to the Astartes Centurion Xander Ra ! All the crowed felt was a burst of heat like the hot sun when driving through the desert of Tyrol Prime! as the indoor was brighter than outsides sun behind black smoke for one second.

the Maori exile marks really elevate this and give it so much extra character and soul. Also, the blood splatter. Favoriting this, as theirs a non zero chance Carcharadons are a chapter or kill team I might invest the time and effort into someday.

They are confirmed to be terrain born raven guard. They work with the ashen claws, the same terren born raven guard. Both from the exiled raven guard before the heresy. Part of the reason not just being them being slavers and more like night lords... they worked with horus in the ashen claw formation. Hence the confirmation

Superb looking CARCHARODON Astartes marine and coming from a new site to being a instructor a painter of such interesting like these feared surprise guests a force of go killers for the all father! That is one of the best space fish I've ever seen. Great pose, great freehand. Couple of notes: -The use of exile marks dates back to the color plates in Imperial Armour Vol. 10: Badab War Part 2, written by Alan Bligh and published in 2011. Supposedly Alan Bligh had specific ideas in mind for the origins and secrets of the Carcharodons, which he explained to Robbie MacNiven before he died of cancer. Robbie has since been the to-go guy for Carcharodons novels because he's the one who knows what's up with them, but their use of kirituhi can't be credited to him. As for what those secrets are, MacNiven is apparently committed to revealing them in dramatically effective fashion or not at all. Are they Ashen-Claw-descended Raven Guard successors? Loyalist Night Lords made by those Ashen Claws from Night Lord geneseed they raided? A chimeric mixture of the two? Loyalist World Eaters who hooked up with the Ashen Claw nomad-predation fleets, even? (There's a passage in Outer Dark where an Ashen Claw implies that a captured World Eater is of the same heritage as the Carcharodon point of view character.) One of the two missing Legions, with Tyberos being so big because he's a sekrit Primarch? (Probably not that one.) Only Robbie knows! And he'll only tell if he's given an opportunity to write another Carcharodons book and he feels the reveal would be a natural thing to include in its narrative and not just a forced lore dump stapled to it. -Their attack on the Mantis Warriors during the Badab War is primarily notable for its methodology. The Mantis Warriors were engaging in hit and run guerilla war, but despite being on the side of Lugft Huron's traitors they were still culturally a loyalist space marine chapter with strong ties to duty to their recruiting worlds, so the Carcharodons dealt with them by... just attacking and slaughtering civilian population centers on Mantis Warrior worlds to draw them out of hiding. The space sharks love them some war crimes, a trait shared by World Eaters, Night Lords, and pre-Corax Raven Guard alike, so that doesn't help unravel the mystery any. -If you want an alternative to metal ball bearings, you can get styrene hemispherical rivets from a number of manfacturers, usually sold in model train stores. I use Tichy Train Group rivets. They come in a number of sizes, are half-spheres so you don't need to drill a hole to sink them into, and they're styrene so you can attach them with plastic cement.

I hate calling them “Carcharodons”, I prefer calling them Space Sharks. It just follows the same naming scheme as other Space Marine chapters.

1. Love your videos man, keep it up! 2. I subscribe to two more obscure theories on their origin. First is they're actually from the gene stock of the Night Lords, which would explain their stealthy/brutal ways and appearance. OR, they're really remnants of a lost legion, which would explain their secrecy as well as their ramshackle gear and their chapter masters freakish size.

I think the freehand on those exile markings turned out great! Also I'd just like to note - the art of Tyberos at 11:04 and 11:20 are by L J Koh and Zhi Chen on ArtStation, respectively.

Two of my favorite chapters in one series? I feel downright spoiled! This mf came out so sick, that pose is *seriously* menacing. Can't wait to see what you do with the Charnel Guard and the rest of this series!!

This guy's pose reminds me of an iron warrior of mine. The guy was built from leftover mk3 bits I printed some time ago. He stands perfectly straight up, holds his power sword to his side while looking slightly to the left. People claim that he looks stoic (not sure what that's supposed to mean in this context).

Gonna have to agree on this being one of your best marines.

At some time it would be cool to see this much care given to old school dark angels when they were Native Americans.
