This was a fantastic segment, especially hearing what LeSean McCoy had to say, who actually knows Damar Hamlin. Seeing people speak from the heart makes you realize the magnitude of everything. Hopefully, this all leads to Damar being 100% healthy very soon and being able to have a second chance at life.

This was truly different from all the other shows. The perspective, the people who knew and lived his journey, knew him, etc. A beautiful tribute to him. Prayers up for Damar Hamlin. Hopefully he pulls through and makes the greatest recovery there can possibly be.

This was such a great segment. I love that even though Dave didn’t know Damar he brought his talent into reality. Shady’s perspective was special since he knows him personally, and Joy and Shady both knowing the area where he grew up.

To be honest I have been trying my hardest to get my wife to let my son who is 7 get into tackle football. After the Tua injury earlier this year I pulled back a little and started seeing her point of view a little more. In my head I saw the Tua injury as a common injury that happens but still thought I would never want to see my son seize up like that so I became more understanding of how she felt. After seeing this, I completely understand her insight without even arguing it. This is a tragic event that unfolded however it was an event that we as the human race needed to see to bring light to the people as myself didn't think football was that dangerous. Prayers for him and his family!!!

Tua and concussions are definitely a concern/great risk playing in the NFL/football. Damar's tragic injury was not "football" specific. It is the epitome of "freak accident" and could have happened in other contact sports like boxing, MMA, wrestling, etc. Thankfully, he got immediate medical intervention and is recovering. Wishing him and his family peace and healing energy.

@sidjt first of all I said a week ago lol, and I didn't say I was tripping. I'm just saying that we need to respect each other as humans that all faces our own burdens. Many people hate when a player gets hurt because it affects their FF league; many people felt the game should've continued. What I'm saying is I hope this situation made that guy, whoever it was, to understand that athletes are real people too

Normally I can't stand shady and his take on football because he does it from a fanboy standpoint and not a analyst standpoint but hearing him speak from the heart on Hamlin was great to hear! Kudos to you shady, great segment and I hope and pray this young man pulls through this tragedy! Also, shoutout to the first responders who hopefully/possibly saved this young man's life by doing their job under such tragic conditions and in such a fast paced time frame! Great job, and I applaud them!

This is one time I can agree with Shady25 on such a young guy & I can't imagine family & close one's witness that rather they at the game or watching on TV such an heart dropping thing to see... Even though my Man Mixon is on the other team as he was hoping over him when he collapsed you can see Mixon pointing saying help him get him some help!! Prayer's for him & the family I did get news that he is Vitale & I believe breathing on his own though this morning so that's a great thing. But the young man died on the field off a physical sport thank God medics was there & ready cause you never know in this game of physical sports.

In instances like this, will the NFL throw the game? I think both teams need some time to recoup/recover from such a traumatic experience. They actually saw them perform CPR for 9 whole minutes😔 They saw their teammate dead. They had to literally resuscitate him while his teammates surrounded him so the crowd wouldn't see😩😔🙏🏾

On the bright side of this I can promise you it wasn’t just a helmet that caused that to happen to him he has a heart issue clearly that all the intense links evaluation‘s of peoples house this somehow got through without nobody knowing it granted the hit may have encouraged it but it’s not going to cause him to have any kind of heart failure or anything else they just missed it and they need to figure out what is wrong with him with his heart

Because they wear helmets and visors, we rarely see the features that we put so much stock in when viewing each other. We think of them as modern-day gladiators. Warriors behind masks. Proverbs 30:17 says "The eye is the window to the soul" Due to this tragedy, helmets are removed and we see the pain and anguish in the eyes of his family, his teammates, and his fans. The tribal nature of football has been forgotten for the moment as we all offer prayers and privately hope for the best for this young man. SALUTE!

Those of us with empathy will remember Damar and keep him in our thoughts. I obviously didn’t know the guy, but it’s a guy, he’s my age, and he had people who cared for him. Whether you pray or not, just respect the grind that it took to get out on that field, and respect that he was out there taking hits like that on the regular

From this point forward I don’t want to hear any football player or coach say they are going to battle, war, or any reference to combat ever again. I’ve seen more than half a dozen NFL players taken off the field on a stretcher. Paralyzed. Not even moving. This is the softest generation of football players. EVER. I’ve never seen a bunch of men who beat women, beat up other men, and are generally just violent “men” whimper and cry like puppies. In less than 5 years tackle football will be over. I’m done with the NBA, NFL is next. I need to do more reading on Sundays anyway. Hope he makes a full recovery. But other than that the game like COMBAT/ WAR goes on. Next man up and accomplish the mission.
