I've been a youth pastor for a methodist church for 2 years now. I'm not a methodist, but I felt called to the community of students, so that they may be filled with the word of God. It grieves me so deeply that we have women pastors on staff and that there are women elders and bishops in the conference. The Lord convicted me greatly a few months ago to leave the denomination altogether. My final date is Feb 8th. If anyone sees this, please pray that the Lord opens a door for me before that time, as I have not found any opportunities for employment. ❤

Prayers for you good move . I was asked to leave a pentecostal church because I bucked thier fake doctrine. It's a hard deal to go with what the word says . I was convicted and couldn't accept the same women in pastor roles fake tounges signs and just a mean spirit. The Holy Spirit sets us free

As a Pastor, I absolutely study, read books on preaching, watch seminars on preaching, I'm constantly working on getting better. I am an expositor. Verse by verse. It's been a yr and a half thus far through Romans and we are in Romans 12. Well over 300 mess preached and I STILL want to tighten things up in the pulpit. I study ,study,study. Read books, (actual deep books) etc. It's consuming as it should be for pastors.

My church relocated to an area that I didn’t feel was safe, especially for evening services. I thought I found a church more locally whose doctrine I agreed with. I decided to join, but on my way home I said to myself what have I done. Several months went by and I never felt a part of the church. Few people even spoke to me. The sermons were dry. One Sunday a few of us thought the service was over (maybe 20 or more) so we headed for the door. Suddenly the pastor said over the PA system “everybody at the doors go back to your seat. I’m not done”. Some of us obeyed (I did) and some kept walking out of the church. He then announced to the congregation what happened, “in case you didn’t notice”. I never went back. I have since joined a church where the Bible is preached, the pastor is humble and kind. He is concerned about his “flock” and makes you feel comfortable in the church. God blessed some and not others, I believe. I found one that was blessed and I’m happy. Glory be to God!

May I say something being qualified or meeting qualifications I would say it’s meeting standards, but the greatest gift is being anointed through the Holy Spirit and testing the spirit. There’s people that regurgitate the words from the Bible and seminary schools from teachers, but there are people that read the word of God with spiritual discernment And understand making more sense believe me when you meet a person with spiritual discernment of understanding and knowledge, you’re truly see what an anointing is

Sir, I understand and agree with you, because everything you said was biblical. my only issue is when God clearly uses people for a higher purpose to lead his sheep….they more often then not fail to meet the qualifications. An example of this would be Moses … he committed murder, but was tasked with leading the people of Israel out of Egypt. Could he not be seen as a Pastor (among various other titles) ? When he received the 10 Commandments from God, did he not preach it to the people of Israel? My point is that there is a number of leaders appointed by God to be used for his purpose…. yet they were full of sin and did not qualify according to the book of Timothy. Please respond and clarify for me. Thank you. Respect 🙏🏾

I know you are requesting books but there are a lot of online resources you can use. One good one is David Guzik's Enduring Word commentary. It goes through each book line by line and really helps you get understanding of what you are reading in the right context. Hope this helps.

Hey Corey, So I’m dealing with a pastor and his wife who also is a pastor. They have 2 charismatic churches and are teaching “Word of faith” “seed faith”. They seem to have most of these qualifications (except the wife being a woman of course), but they’re selling merchandise and he sells his books to the members. They practice unbiblical tongues amongst many other unbiblical things. They have special things going on all the time where they take offerings at every event (At least 4-5 times a week). But…they display these qualifications for the most part and so the people they lead are completely brainwashed by the “feeling” of what’s going on. How do we deal with this? I called them out and he spent an hour and a half one Sunday morning completely discrediting me and putting me down along with telling his congregation to stay away from me. What can I do when you say that we’re supposed to rebuke and refute and I’ve done this but i just wound up being torn apart?

The way i see it if your not standing up on stage with a bible and eading our of the bible. I feel like that isnt a pastor. Now with that being said i could never be a pastor. Even tho i have a stong theology from listening to john McArthur and Voddie Baucham and paul washer and r.c Sproul. And listening to these men daily. Many hours a day while im working. Im listening to this while im working now.

You have a pastor it was selected and he has some under line conditions. Cast the Pastor to miss most of the preaching. .What should the pastor do to have the congregation to understand what is going on. When some feel like he don’t do enough.?

Yes. But remember, God will hold you to a higher standard handling his word. That is what 2 Timothy 2:15 is saying. Matter of fact, try reading 1&2 Timothy and Titus to answer most of your questions on this topic.

Nothing wrong with that. Bible study is what we should all be engaged in. I do that 3 times a week with a group of women from my church. We pray before and after to invite the Holy Spirit for us to be taught correct understanding. Treat it like Sunday School.

You are wrong Corey. We don’t know everything. There’s many missing books and the current 66 books of the Bible doesn’t tell us everything. Jesus doesn’t operate with his church out of order. One Lord, One Faith and One Baptism. You cannot assume an important part of the Gospel of Jesus Christ that God is not involved in calling his servants to the Godly positions of leading his flock. Why did God warn us about false preachers? Whom God truly calls is not false so it’s important to recognize that. The Bible doesn’t tell us either that anybody can choose to become a pastor on their own. God gave no man his authority to start up their own churches as they are only preaching the doctrine and philosophies of man. Jesus already created his church and any other church is the church of the devil. So it’s best to conclude that all God’s servants must be called and chosen by him. The Apostles didn’t choose, they were called by Jesus. We must follow the standards of God and the examples he’s set for us in the scriptures. Even the Apostles prayed to God to know whom he would have as the successors when a vacancy of the 12 was available. Why do we keep leaning unto our own understanding? Do we ever pray to God and ask him to reveal his truths so we can avoid being deceived? We need to be more spiritually guided because much of what is going on is carnally guided and offends God. Another thing is you bear false witness saying there’s no more Apostles!!! The Bible says the Church is Built upon Apostles and Prophets. There is a Living Prophet and 12 Apostles that work in unity and is lead by Jesus Christ who is the head of his church. They do not preach to get paid.

@RealLadyG You have said a lot 😅. In regards to your assertion that the office of apostle continues, you made a partial and incomplete reference to Ephesians 2:19-20. So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the cornerstone, (Ephesians 2:19-20 ESVi) How many foundations does a house have? ONE. Therefore to use that verse to promote the continuation of apostles is erroneous. What are the qualifications to be apostle according to the Bible? You referenced that an apostle was replaced. But what was the criteria in Acts 1? So one of the men who have accompanied us during all the time that the Lord Jesus went in and out among us, beginning from the baptism of John until the day when he was taken up from us-one of these men must become with us 👉🏾a witness to his resurrection👈🏾.” And they put forward two, Joseph called Barsabbas, who was also called Justus, and Matthias. And they prayed and said, “You, Lord, who know the hearts of all, show which one of these two you have chosen to take the place in this ministry and apostleship from which Judas turned aside to go to his own place.” (Acts 1:21-25 ESVi) Have any of these so-called apostles today physically seen the resurrected Messiah? NO. Also, why are you conflating apostle with pastor? They are not the same office. “Whom God calls is not false” But that calling for pastoral ministry should be confirmed by the local church. The external confirmation does not happen in a vacuum. You then, my child, be strengthened by the grace that is in Christ Jesus, and what you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses 👉🏾entrust to faithful men, who will be able to teach others also.👈🏾 (2 Timothy 2:1-2 ESVi)
