they've had a lot of impactful players and I'm not just talking about the team right now but years before. David Silva, Vincent Kompany, Kevin De Bruyne, Sergio Aguero, Yaya Toure and a few players have been critical to the success Manchester City have had in the premier league in the last decade. Ruben Dias has transformed their defense after some struggles after the departure of Vincent Kompany and he's been rolls royce at the back. It's just his first season but what a season Erling Haaland is having banging in goals like a joke now. If he finally wins Manchester City the champions league I would say that 100% he's made an impact for this City team.
@otterpoopie

If Pep wasn’t there, players like KDB, Bernardo, Ruben, or Haaland would not have signed or continued with City. You can see the opposite with wealthy clubs like PSG, United, Chelsea, etc. - without a proper coach who continuously wins trophies and has a style of play that makes other teams scared, you won’t get these top quality players to preform at an elite level.
@tobaepebinuade5830
@tobaepebinuade5830 Жыл бұрын
@@otterpoopie Kevin De Bruyne was signed by Manchester City before Pep got there. Unlike PSG those Manchester City players actually played for the badge at least they show passion but we know how PSG and Chelsea right now aren't proper football clubs and right now City is more attractive than both because they built a system for winning not mercenaries.
@otterpoopie
@otterpoopie Жыл бұрын
@@tobaepebinuade5830 that’s why I also said continued. KDB would have been snatched up by another team if he didn’t believe he could achieve greatness with City. That’s why Pep is so important because he built on the success of Mancini and the ownership knew how important Pep was for their success. Man City really doesn’t have successful history like other clubs have and so he had to bring his resume in winning trophies to lure and keep quality players that actually care about team success.
@tobaepebinuade5830
@tobaepebinuade5830 Жыл бұрын
@@otterpoopie he wouldn't have the same success. Basically despite not having a rich vein of history, Manchester City have become one of the most elite teams in Europe under Pep Guardiola and they were great in the takeover but the team has become a juggernaut under him. He has a good resume which bodes well for City and he gets players that rightly fit his system.

Kompany was the only one to attain the legendary status when City were taken over in 2008. For me it has to be Kompa, Silva, Kun, Yaya and then KdB, Dinho. Others are relatively new to really be considered impactful. Oh and forgot to add Bobby Mancini (gave us the belief to win more trophies).

Anyone who is encouraged by nedum's comments needs to look at that. Pep has and has had the biggest impact on City. Yes, Mancini also won the Premier League, but never as well and dominantly as under Pep. To be honest, before Pep, City was a clown club that you couldn't take seriously. Like PSG today. Didn't have a style of play (Tiki Taka/ball possession) like now under Pep. Have only ever signed old and saturated superstars (Lampard, Balotelli,Tevez, Maicon,Jesus Navas....) who have had great success with other big clubs. They mostly just wanted to make a little more money and end their careers. Usually only caused problems (e.g. refusing to substitute, missing an empty goal on purpose...) They made it once in a Champions League semi-final, otherwise almost always in the round of 16 against big numbers in Europe (vs Real Madrid 1:4, vs Bayern... high lost) or sometimes didn't even survive the group phase. Before Pep, I didn't even know City had an academy [example; Phil Foden, Rico Lewis(18) and Cole Palmer...] They don't just buy big names anymore, they buy players who fit into the game system. There is little or no unrest in the team compared to before. Who would have thought 7-10 years ago that City would be one of the Champions League co-favourites?? That's dominating the Premier League for years?? Pep is the best thing that could have happened to Man City's club owners. Well, the money is just an excuse for your envy, because they had that before Pep and weren't nearly as successful
