My favorite touch on this one was that the body was a slightly different shade from the limbs. That was something I vividly remembered from my vintage figure as a kid and those kind of small details were what really made this line a cut above.

Hell yeah, Hydron was my BOY. I actually got He-Man at Christmas the year New Adventures was released and my friend got Hydron. We swapped because I didn’t like He-Man and he didn’t like Hydron. I kept him All throughout childhood until I lost him in a move along with a bunch of other toys. Just this year I got this MOTUC Hydron and I love him and display him fighting Masterverse Mer-Man.

Fun video! Thank you! Yeah, I wasn't a fan of the "New Adventures" He-Man line or cartoon back in the late 1980s, but the Classics versions fit in beautifully. My buddy, Bill Cable, knew i was a MOTU fan from many of the articles I wrote for his website, and he sent me a Hydron he got as part of a Press Freebie when he was covering Toy Fair 2014.

OMG I have that Choose Your Own ADventure Book :). I could never put together the GI Joe Water Mocasin or White Scuba dude in that Vehicle so I had to return them :(. I used to like those toys in FRosted Flakes where you could squeeze the bottle making them go up and down. I forget what they are called but I have a lot along with those decoders heh. I don't even remember Hydron at all heh :). Sounds like they named him after Hydrant :). On Bright side the new Revelations makes the older He-Man Cartoons seem vastly better kinda like prequels for Lord Of The Rings or Star Wars. I just ordered a Corman Classic Star Crash with David Hasselhoff which I found trying to find Starroids Raiders :). Galactic Protectors reminds me of Flash Gordon cartoon :).

0:50 Fun/Horrifying fact: We've only fully explored/mapped five percent of our oceans up to now. Only FIVE percent. We know more about outer space than we do about our own oceans. Maybe H.P. Lovecraft was right on basing his eldritch horror on the sea. Giant sea monsters like the Kraken, Cthulhu, and Godzilla are indeed scary.

Great video, Mr Scott! Classics made me care about NA. Up to that point I couldn't stand that poor excuse for a sequel series. Now I'm among the ranks of those bemoaning the fact that there weren't more made in Classics. The Horsemen did such an amazing job on the characters that you kind of forget how silly the cartoon was and your imagination automatically takes over.

I retrieved the vintage figure from at least three kids's rooftops without knowing it was He-Man.

What was the reason for the redesign of the mask for hydron, as well as for the fin on the head? I love this figure, had it for years until it broke. Hydron fascinated me because I always thought he had planned features removed. Like colors that were supposed to glow but didn't.

I finally got Stratos in classics. Got him for 40 bucks !

Hydron never really LOOKED like a MOTU character to me, but in spite of that I still kinda like him- he kinda looks like one of the Fisher Price Adventure People with the bubble helmet

I hate new adventures as a. Kid because. Did not l look like he man at all. Once I grew up I re watch Ed it and I. Really liked. It. And character design. Are pretty cool that is why I loved. To have those. Figures in classics. And actually hydronic is the only one I am missing lol

I wonder if anyone has used the unmasked hydron/Val Kilmer head on a Batman figure ? Might work for a Batman forever custom

1. How many times did you hear "um. No." or anything along that line from the legal department. 2. Since you said you wasn't fan of NA He-Man growing up was it harder or more difficult get behind or be excited about? Did you have to "nudge" yourself with each figure? Or was you more distracted on how to make such a unique buck work?

I always found it a weird narrative to say the New Adventures figures sold poorly when MOTU Classics was pretty much relying on subscriptions to make the line go through. Also, I hate that Hydron has to walk around with his breathing apparatus on land. Lol

This character looks pretty lame and generic. The colour scheme seems random and gaudy.
